Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet.

Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar.

Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?"

"Hey you two!" Ned said holding his arms wide for a hug from both of them, approaching Makoto first. "Killing some time this evening?"

((OOC: There's five people; Aurel's there too. He just doesn't really say much unless spoken to.))

Gavrila followed the Empress to the Courtyard with Aurel in tow, both of them focusing on the palace around them. Gavrila because she was extremely impressed with the size and grandeur of the structure, while Aurel was simply doing his best to keep an eye on their surroundings, though he did appreciate the building as well. They were both also quite taken aback by all the servants milling about, in Cetatsenia the only 'servants' one would be liable to find wandering the halls at night were the guards.

When she was introduced to Makoto and Alexis, she grinned. She did recognize Makoto from Jia Li's visit and he supposed she could see a bit of a resemblance between Alexis and Xel. "Yeah, I remember seeing him back in Cetatsenia. And it is a pleasure to meet boz of you," she said, still grinning; then she turned to Jia Li, "And do not call me 'Knezinja de Sud'. It is too formal and official for my tastes."

OOC: Sorry. I forgot about him. I kinda forget about my people too sometimes... Makoto technically would have been with them earlier too and they just switched out. >.>

IC:
Both Makoto and Alexis hugged Ned. "I saw you earlier," Alexis teased with a wide grin. "But I guess I didn't get to hug you then." She turned and bowed to Gavrila. "A pleasure to meet you too."

Makoto grinned a moment, thinking about what Marcus had said about Gavrila, and bowed as well. "Pleased to officially meet you."

Jia Li smiled. "Maybe, but it is polite, especially for a first meeting," she said to Gavrila.

"You were on duty earlier," Ned retorted. "Besides, that was hours ago."

Gavrila just shrugged and laughed, "It may be polite Jia Li, but it is still totally unnecessary. But if you absolutely have to call me something official when introducing me, just call me Knezinja Gavrila I." She was still smiling, but she honestly didn't like being called Knezinja de Sud, since her mother could have been introduced that way when she was in power; Gavrila much preferred going by her first name.

Then she turned to look at Makoto, having noticed him grinning. "So, what was zat grin for? I looked like more zan you just being pleased to meet me," she teased.

Alexis smiled. "How does a few hours make a difference?" she said teasingly. "You and I need to catch up sometime when we're not busy."

Makoto laughed, but he caught Xel's disapproving glare. "You just reminded me of an earlier conversation," he said.

Gavrila tilted her head curiously and raised one of her eyebrows. She also noticed Xel's glare, which made her curious about this conversation even more. "So, what exactly was zis conversation about?" she asked, "Must have been pretty interesting."

Makoto grinned. "Yeah, I'd say so," he answered. "It was about the baths." Xel scowled and closed his eyes.

Gavrila saw Xel reaction and grinned, making it obvious she was enjoying this; though she did raise her eyebrow at Makoto's answer. She hadn't made the connection that Marcus may have talked about the fact that he'd seen her naked to the other guard. "Really? What about zem exactly?" she asked, wanting him to actually come out and say what the conversation had been about.

Ned nodded at Alexis. "Definitely. I'll be here for a few days on this visit, so I'm sure we can find a time to sit down and chat."

He turned his head and looked at the others. "Did you drag Marcus down your dark path, Makoto?" he asked with a laugh.
