Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet.

Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar.

Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?"

Ned held up a finger. "A valid point. Perhaps I should be wary of such behaviors." He looked out over the city. "It's probably a little late to go out wandering if we want to be up in the morning for breakfast and then the tour."

He turned and leaned on his arm as he looked back at the Palace. "Though, for the life of me, I can't really think of anything really to do inside other than wander or go to the gym inside. Kind of sad, considering how long I lived there, eh?"

Gavrila shrugged in response. "Not really, late at night zere is not much to do at my palace eizer," she said, "Sometimes I just head to ze bazes and stay up drinking or chatting wiz some of ze servants."

Ned tilted his head. "Do you ever read in the baths, or would it be too damp in there to relax with a book?"

"Damp, definitely too damp," Gavrila said, nodding her head, "Well, I mean I have never actually tried it. After all, I would razer not risk dropping it into ze baz and ruining it."

"Good point," Ned assented. "Surely you don't just sit down there and drink alone though. I imagine that you'd have some sort of company."

"Of course not, I did mention ze servants," Gavrila replied, raising one of her eyebrows, "Sometimes I chat and drink wiz some of ze off-duty servants in my palace."

"Ah, I wasn't certain that you meant that you talked with them at the baths or just in general around the palace." He paused a moment. "So... hobbies? You'll forgive me, I'm rather terrible at this," he said with a laugh.

"And of course combinations thereof. Where all have you been able to visit?" he inquired.

Gavrila shrugged, "Eh, mostly to places in Cetatsenia. I do not travel zat often, which is really a damn shame."
