Despite being the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere, all was not gloom in Demoness. The season was called Second Summer and was indeed more like its counterpart than an opposite. The weather was warmer and slightly humid, though the latter was due to the shower was predicted to visit Sacred Rock later that evening. For the time being, the weather was overcast as Ned Davion descended into the airport. He would soon be followed by Gavrila de Sud, but he was not quite aware of that fact yet. Visits between Fenwick and Demoness had become more than routine, with the prince representing his country more often than his father, and they had lost all their formality; a simple phone call announced his arrival and a car would meet him at the airport with little fanfare. He was admitted to the Plateau and after a little witty banter with the Guardian of the Gateway, an ex-girlfriend, he was led into Jia Li's private solar. Though technically a solar, it was more specifically a library and Jia Li lounged with her legs across her husband's lap; a chitael, either Nemesis or Aphrodite, lay in hers. She propped up a book on her chitael's head, reading happily while her husband reviewed something on a tablet. She looked up as Ned entered and smiled. "Hey, Ned-mitsu," she greeted. "I'd stand but..." She indicated the hundred pound animal purring on her lap. "When did you get in?" |

Gavrila shrugged it off and laughed, "Eh, I do not zink I would mind too much. My rats do zat sometimes too." And with that she waved goodbye one final time and made her way to the dresser and pulled out a large t-shirt, before proceeding to the bathroom. She assumed that in the meantime Ned would have left, and so she came out out the bathroom wearing what passed as pajamas for her. Which was simply the t-shirt and her undergarments. She just threw her old clothes on a chair and made her way to the bedroom. She smiled at the cat, "So, it looks like it is just us tonight. Huh, kitty?" She just hopped into bed, and did her best to cover up with the blankets despite the cat sitting on the foot of the bed. |

The servant girl returned while Gavrila was changing and left a water dish, as she said she'd do. The cat reacted to Gavrila's presence by moving over; apparently, she was willing to share more of the bed, though she crawled up the side and stretched out. Despite the warm temperature, it did cool down at night so it was wise to cover up with a blanket. However, the windows were closed, the temperature didn't vary much overnight. --- It was sometime after both of them had bathed that Xel confronted his wife. He was already for bed, standing by its side, while she braided her hair for sleep; it was one of the few things she was allowed to do on her own. Marcus sat next to the door reading a book. "You are lucky Ned is so tolerant." Jia Li stopped brushing her hair and turned. "Hmm?" "Ned," he reiterated. "You set him up on a blind date and didn't even tell him beforehand. Most people would not react as well as he did and would have been in here as soon as they were able." She clucked her tongue, put down her brush, and fully turned toward him. "Ned is lonely, and he wants kids. He's getting older. There's no harm in introducing him to someone who's interested." He crossed his arms skeptically. "What about his girlfriend?" She shook her head. "I checked with Yuri before I even invited Gavrila. They've been having trouble for some time now and decided to spend some time apart, so he doesn't even really have a girlfriend right now." She scowled at him. "I'm looking out for him. I wish you'd trust me." He frowned as he thought over her words, and finally climbed into bed without a word. He still disapproved, but the damage was done and there wasn't a point in arguing. Besides, she had given more thought to it than he'd assumed and Yuri would know if there was an issue. --- The night passed without issue and the next morning just after dawn there was a knock at Ned's and Gavrila's door. The servant invited them to breakfast in Jia Li's apartments and when they arrived several fruit trays and bowls were spread about the low table. There was a large pot in the center with a ladle and by the smell of it, it contained soup of some kind. The drink options were the same as the night before, though it appeared Jia Li had already chosen a juice of some kind and Xel went with water. He was already at the table reading a tablet and she stumbled in a few minutes later, trailed by Ariana. She was well-dressed and groomed, but she was still bleary-eyed and yawned as she sat at the table. Edited by Demoness, Mar 3 2014, 09:18 PM.

It wasn't Gavrila that answered the door to the room, which was fortunate as she would have mostly answered it in just her t-shirt and undergarments. Instead, Aurel was the one to open the door and receive the invitation from the servant, having already woken up and gotten dressed and ready for the day. He slowly made his way to Gavrila's bedroom, and chuckled to himself. It seemed the chitael had decided to stay the night, though during the course of the night Gavrila had taken up most of the bed. She was currently sprawled across the bed, not even entirely covered by her blanket. Aurel made his way over to the bed and shook the Knezinja's shoulder to wake her. It took a few moments but eventually Gavrila's eyes opened and she sat up, looking over at Aurel with her eyes still half-closed as she scratched her back and yawned. "Whassit?" she said sleepily. "We have been invited to dine with the Empress in her apartments for breakfast, doamna," Aurel replied. "So it's morning?" "Yes, doamna." "Alright, just lemme get dressed and shit and we'll go up," Gavrila said, holding back another yawn. "Of course, doamna," Aurel said, smiling a little as he made his way out of the Knezinja's bedroom. He waited patiently for Gavrila, but after waiting for several minute without a single noise from the bedroom, aside from what he assumed was the now awake chitael, he decided to check on her. As he opened the door the chitael made its way out, and sure enough Gavrila was asleep again. At least she's gotten up as evidenced by the clothes she had laid out on the bed beside her. "Doamna," Aurel said simply before Gavrila shot up from where she was napping. "I'm good, Aurel," she said, still half-asleep, "Just go and I'll get ready. I promise this time." Aurel sighed and nodded. "As you wish, doamna," he said as he exited the room once more. ------ After many more minutes Gavrila was finally ready and had made her way up to Jia Li's apartment, after having asked several passing servants for directions. She had to admit that is was definitely busier than her own palace, ot even the Palatul Regal; moreso than just the larger size would imply too. She wondered if the fact that Jia Li was considered a Goddess had something to do with that, before deciding that was probably as good a reason as any. Gavrila herself was dressed similar to how she had been yesterday when she had arrive, though her current suit was actually dark blue instead of the black that she usually wore. As she and Aurel entered the room, Gavrila grinned at Jia Li and Xel despite obviously still being tired. "Hey," she began before the phrase turned into a rather long yawn. "Well, zat was somezing," she said with a laugh, "Anyway, bună dimineața." |

ooc: Gavrila? IC: Ned was already dressed for the day as he had been up and to the gym already prior to the "wake up" call. "Good morning," he said to the servant sent. "Breakfast time, I assume?" |

Jia Li grinned. "Good morning. Get some better sleep this time?" she teased. She wore a simple dress like always and while it was white, it was really the pattern sewn into the fabric that changed. When she was not at an official function, she dressed in her own colors or even more normal clothes, but as Empress she was required to wear white. She gestured toward the table. "Have a seat," she said and then sat next to her husband. Ariana found a place against the wall behind Jia Li, and the empress' two chitaels swarmed around the table. Jia Li made a noise at them and one sat peacefully next to Ariana and began to groom herself while her sister laid her head firmly in Jia Li's lap. Jia Li pet her absently as she waited. --- The servant nodded. "Yes, Your Grace," he answered. "Her Divinity invites you to join Her in Her apartment for some breakfast with her and Knezinja de Sud." |

"Sounds good, let me just grab my key and shoes," he replied. He ducked back into his room and grabbed a handful of things before stepping out into the hallway. "I've got it. Thanks," he said with a smile and a nod. He headed down the corridor and then on to Jia Li and Xel's apartment, where he politely knocked then entered. "Good morning everyone." |

OOC: I swear if you don't take your shoes off, you're going to be in trouble! IC: As Jia Li greeted Ned, the chitael by Ariana bolted over to him, chirped, and then nipped his heels; she apparently wanted to play. |

Gavrila more than happily agreed to Jia Li's request and plopped herself down at the table. She only had to glance up at Aurel for him to sigh slightly and sit down beside her. "Hey, I get plenty of sleep most of ze time," Gavrila said, chuckling; then she looked at the chitaels next to the Empress and smiled as she pointed, "One of zem slept wiz me last night, you know." Then when Ned entered the room, she turned around and grinned at him, "Bună dimineața." Edited by Cetatsenia, Mar 4 2014, 12:45 AM.

ooc: I figured that was assumed. ![]() "How was everyone's evening?" he asked, just before Nemesis nipped at him. "Nemesis! Isn't it a little early for playtime?" he asked the big cat. Nemesis simply replied by chirping again and bumping him with her head. "Oh, alright. Give me a minute, I'll be back." He slipped his shoes on and gave the chitael a "what are you waiting for?" look, before heading back out the door. Edited by Fenwick, Mar 4 2014, 12:47 AM.

Gavrila frowned as Ned turned and left to go play with the chitael, not even bothering to hide it. Then she turned back to Jia Li and Xel. "So anyway, as I said before, I slept wiz a chitael last night," Gavrila said, "It was quite pleasant, having an animal next to me reminded me of home. Even if a chitael is a hell of a lot bigger zan a great rat." |
