Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship. The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched. With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters. Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure. |

"Of course. I would never try to hike out on the trail at night unless I was camping or something. There are too many animals we could run into," Kakia replied. "But I was curious as to what you were planning to do." She paused. "Ah. I would not head down to the beach after dark unless you are with someone you trust. There are areas where thieves wait." |

"Well it is generally not a good idea to go somewhere dark and lonely, especially in a foreign country," Andrei said with a shrug, "Unfortunate as it may be, it can be dangerous." Vlad nodded his head, "Pretty much. I do not zink eizer of us were planning on going down zere at night anyway." |

"That is good. It can be nice down there, especially during festival time. They hold barbecues and parties on the beach all the time, but you need to know which areas are safe." Kakia paused. "If you like, you can come with me to the club tonight or I can give you my phone number. I do not really have many plans during the summer." |

"I zink you should probably just give us your phone number," Vlad said after a short moment's thought, "We are not really ze type to go out to ze club. Right Andrei?" His twin simply nodded his head in agreement, "Yes, it is not really our kind of zing. Some people we know visit zem, but not us." |

Kakia exchanged phone numbers with them. In comparison, her phone was quite old and possibly recycled from the mainland, but it still served its function. She smiled. "It was nice meeting you and I enjoyed dinner. If you have any questions..." She held up her phone and smirked. |

The Princes both had phones that were quite obviously far newer than Kakia's, though Vlad's phone was several years old on account of him seeing no reason to replace it. Once they exchanged numbers, Vlad smiled back. "I agree, it definitely was nice to meet you," he said. "Are you leaving?" Andrei asked with a raised eyebrow, puzzled by the woman's choice of words, "Dessert has not gotten here yet." |

"Ah, no, I did order dessert, ne?" Kakia replied. "But it seemed appropriate for what we were saying. I apologize for any confusion. I try to be polite, but it is sometimes hard. I forget. This is more or less the third language and culture I have to remember." She smiled. |

"I was a little confused by the past tense is all," Andrei said with a shrug, "But three languages? Zat is razer impressive." "Most Cetatsens only know two," Vlad added in helpfully, "What ozer languages do you speak? And how many languages are zere on zis island anyway?" |

Kakia nodded. "Past tense does not exist in the other languages, so I have difficulty with at times," she explained. She hesitated at Vlad's question and began to count on her fingers, starting with the thumb. "Morai is required along with English, but the Feorasi language is actually Ni'ihau. Technically, I also speak Poi, but it is a, ano, bastarda- bastardi- not good combination of our languages. I should speak E'eakh as well, but I only hear my grandparents speak it." OOC: Latin is "E'eakh", so pretend that it's not a romanized word. The "Ni'ihau" word does not look correct. |

"Hah, well I suppose English being ze only language you speak wiz past tense could cause some issues," Vlad said, "It is easy in Cetatsenia; we just learn English and Cetatsenian." "A language wizout a past tense sounds like it could be razer vague," Andrei said, "Does it just not have a past tense? Or tenses in general?" |
