Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship. The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched. With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters. Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure. |

Kakia smiled. "That sounds good. I won't lie. I'll probably sleep in a bit. Perhaps we could meet for breakfast before heading out. I know a few nice restaurants. I could meet you at your hotel." |

"Ha, I may sleep in as well. Zough I may not; it may be worz it to get up early and have a look around," Vlad laughed, then playfully elbowed his brother, "Not to mention my brozer may end up waking me up anyway." Andrei just shrugged, "So I get up early. It is a habit from ze military." "Most people would welcome ze chance to sleep in late after going so long wizout being able to," Vlad joked, before turning his attention back to Kakia, "And zat sounds great. I look forward to tomorrow." |

"Me too," Kakia replied. She stood and then hesitated. "Oh, did you tell me where you were staying? Never mind. Just text me with the address or name so I'll remember. I probably won't after tonight," she added with a smile. "Nice meeting you." She headed off toward the front, where she paid her bill, and then off onto the street. The server came with the remainder of the bill, but otherwise left the Cetatsens alone. It would be dark in less than ten minutes, but the streets were already lit. Unlike rural areas, these streets would remain as bright as possible to deter thieves, but this had the unfortunate side-effect of blotting out the stars. During certain times of year, even these streetlights would be shut off in favor of celebrations. As it was, the ocean was only now becoming darker, an inky green rather than the clear blue of the day. More tourists were about, though few were on the beach where the Cetatsens could see a few fires being lit. |

The Cetatsens paid the bill as soon as the server dropped off the bill, having more than enough money to pay for the meal; they were, after all, royalty. They didn't stay very long in the restaurant either, not having much reason to. "Well that was fun," Vlad said as the pair made their way out, speaking his native tongue. "True, I did enjoy myself," Andrei said, "If only a little." Vlad just rolled his eyes and playfully elbowed his brother, "Oh please, you enjoyed it more than that." Andrei smiled as the pair exited to building, "I suppose so. Zanks for bringing me along Vlad." "No problem, bro," Vlad said, a wide grin plastered on his face. Then he looked around for a moment, before pointing in he direction of their hotel, "It's that way, right?" "I hope so; if it's not, then we're gonna get lost," Andrei replied, and the pair started on their way back to the hotel. Chatting along the way. |

Sirens were sounding in the distance, not growing louder but more concentrated. Arashi Suzuki thought that the entire police force of Ryen Shiradhi might have actually gathered outside the docks, which was rather impressive since her opinion of the force was rather low. They were only well-equipped because they leeched money from Demonessian pockets and their training was little more than handing a uniform to a teenager. Most weren't even allowed to carry handguns, which she believed was a mistake due to the number of illegal firearms moving through the port, but now was not the time to assess the finer points of Feorasi laws. She'd stood her ground in the warehouse even as the sirens came, intending to get captured in the raid with her targets and let her identity get sorted out later by the authorities so as not to blow her cover, but bullets began to fly and the Apostates began to scatter. She dove into the bay, swimming a long distance before she dared to surface, and noted that Feorasan incompetence allowed the Apostates to flee by boat as well. Their net of coastal patrol would close too late to capture any real players and she still hadn't determined which branch of Apostates she was truly dealing with. There were several in this deal to be certain, but she needed to know which was attempting to trade biological weapons and what their purposes were. NDAISE guessed it was probably the Heralds of of Qayima due to the destructive nature, but she and Hana had their doubts. They believed it was still the smaller group of "true" Apostates working in conjunction with Vulareshite, despite the latter group being cleared of any wrongdoing; they were the only ones who were capable of orchestrating the robbery of Demoness' heavily guarded research facilities. Her feet hit sand and she stood up. Her wig was crooked and her makeup smeared. Her sister had applied it since she had no talent, so there was no saving the makeup. She tried to fix the askew hairpiece, only to give up moments later and discard it in the waves. She peeled off her shirt to wring it out and walked diagonally across the beach away from the mayhem. With luck, she'd be mistaken for a lost tourist and left alone. She tapped her wire and cursed when she realized it was waterlogged. That meant she wouldn't be able to contact her sister. Usually her sister was quite well-prepared, but she supposed Hana couldn't predict that she'd be taking a swim that night. She wanted to peel off the wire as well, but it was expensive and it might still work after it dried out. She pulled out her handgun and checked the action; at least that still worked. She hopped a low fence officially separating the road from the beach and headed further inland, crossing into a road and navigating narrow walkways. She spied two men, clearly tourists, strolling ahead of her and she figured since they were moving away from the bedlam they would help serve as a cover. She tied her wet shirt around her waist, ran her fingers through her dark hair, and draped her arms over the men as she approached them from behind. "What's going on?" she asked, slurring slightly but grinning. She was thankful that Feorasans were so friendly, otherwise this would probably have been more awkward, and that her race was indecipherable; with the right appliances, she could pass as Cine, Shuzoku, or neither and right now with her colored contacts in her only real identifier as Demonessian was concealed. OOC: BTW, she has a bra on, so she's not topless, but it is technically legal in Feoras. |

Though Vlad and Andrei had noticed the woman behind them, they didn't think too much of it when they first spied her. After all, it was a city and there was bound to be more people walking along the streets. But her draping her arms across them was unexpected and not altogether pleasant, considering the fact that she was still wet. And Andrei moved away, pushing the woman's arm of off him and turning around to look at her. "Uh, hello," Vlad said, gently removing Arashi's arm from his shoulder, "Who may you be?" |

"Fhawan," Arashi replied, clearing up her speech slightly. She wanted to appear intoxicated, not drunk, but she stumbled slightly when Vlad removed her arm. "Nice night. What are your names?" |

"Andrei," Andrei replied simply, still wary of the woman. He didn't fully trust her, though she hadn't done anything suspicious as of yet. But he had no idea who she was, and she appeared to be drunk or intoxicated, so he figured it best not to take chances. Vlad, on the other hand, had noticed the woman stumble and wasn't as cautious as his brother. "I am Vlad," he said, "Are you all right, uh, Fhawan?" |

Arashi grinned and laughed a little too hard. "Yeah, I'm great! I just got done schwimming, but I lost the rest of my party. They..." She looked off at the shoreline and squinted, as if she were looking for someone. In actuality, she was using her peripheral vision to determine if the concentration of lights had faded. She doubted she'd be able to spot any of the Coast Guard patrols if they were in pursuit, but she needed to know if the dock was clear. Then she needed to get back in contact with her sister. She hesitated before continuing. "I think I bet them I could swim out or something and they didn't think it wash a good idea. Or maybe it was a race." She shrugged. Her eyes were burning from the seawater now and she wondered if that made her look more intoxicated. "If it wash, I won." Her grin widened. "Where are you two headed?" |

"We were headed back to out hotel," Vlad replied, "Do you, uh, do you want us to call your friends?" Andrei merely stayed back, watching the conversation. He wasn't entirely trusting of this woman, who had come up to them with no provocation this late at night. But he wasn't completely heartless, and did realize that she could just be some poor intoxicated woman, and leaving her out on the streets like this wasn't something he actually wanted to do. But he was definitely going to go about it more carefully than his brother. |
