Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship.

The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched.

With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters.

Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure.

Arashi smiled. She didn't agree; the island was far too humid for her tastes, had terrible seasonal storms, and she'd been to better "exotic" locations. She recalled her sister's criticism that she was far too serious and cynical and allowed that the island might be more beautiful if she didn't know what else went on.

"It'sh the best island in the whole Xeyna Ocean," she replied. "Especially up north. The highlands have beautiful grasslands. We came down here just to see what it's like in the 'big' city."

"Ha, where I am from you do not hear ze words 'highlands' and 'grasslands' in ze same sentence," Vlad said with a laugh, "Zough we did come down here for a nice change of scenery. Cetatsenia is hardly tropical, after all."

Arashi mentally recalled what she knew about Cetatsenia, which was unfortunately little. She and her sister had been prepared for insertion into hostile countries and situations, not peacetime infiltrations and sleeper agents. She gave Vlad a second look, seeing if she could tease anything extra about them or Cetatsenia from his dress, and wished she had her sister's talents.

"It must be quite a change of weather for you. Hot and sunny all the time," she said.

"It'sh probably much smaller than what you're used to," Arashi replied. "Maybe a little dirtier, but definitely friendlier."

"Hey, Cetatsens can be pretty friendly," Vlad said with mock offense, "But zen again, most of us do not have to deal wiz tourists. Zere are only a handful of places tourists go in Cetatsenia, I zink."

Meanwhile Andrei was busy fiddling around with his phone, doing his best to figure out how to get to Fifth Street. Finding Fifth Street itself wasn't particularly difficult, but now he was trying to find the street they were on right now. And he was, unfortunately, not having an easy time of it, mumbling irritatedly to himself.

Arashi heard Andrei's mumbling, but she figured a drunken woman would ignore it, especially a Kaini one as she was trying to portray, and continued talking to Vlad. "That'sh a shame. Or maybe not. There'sh a lot of crime here, though they try a lot to hide it. Lotsh of people though and they bring money in." She turned and looked at Vlad. "What's Cetatsenia like?"

"Well personally zink it is a great place, zough I may be a little biased," Vlad said with a smile, "But it is very beautiful. You have miles of untouched wilderness and buildings zat go back centuries. Not zat ze country is not wizout its faults of course."

"I can't imagine that. Our buildings get destroyed every so many years." Arashi shrugged. "Sorta. The skyscrapers and stuff haven't, but the traditional structures don't last very long."

"Zat is really a shame if you ask me," Vlad replied, "Old buildings have a sort of beauty all zeir own. Just knowing zat zey have stood for as long as zey have is impressive."
