Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship.

The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched.

With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters.

Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure.

The man moved his gun from Arashi's spine to threaten Andrei, which was when Arashi made her move. She threw her hip into his, pulled him off his center of gravity, and threw him over her shoulder. She kept hold of his arm and sharply yanked it upward as she kicked her heel out to dislocate it. The man thought to point the gun at her, but she kicked the hand away, and then she made an immediate grab for the weapon. This happened in a handful of seconds.

OOC: The gun may or may not still be in his hand. I'll leave that up to you and your reaction.

As soon as Arashi made her own move, Andrei sprang into action as well. She had thrown the man over her soldier, and a gun had flown out of his hand. His first action was to grab for the weapon himself, since the man was disarmed and on the ground. Fortunately Arashi's kick had caused the gun to land marginally closer to him than to her, and he was able to get a hold of the weapon first.

Immediately he pointed it at the man on the ground, though he kept both Arashi and the man within his field of vision. "All right, what exactly is going on here?" he said. It didn't take an idiot to realize there was more to this than there appeared. After all, the woman had been faking intoxication and it was evident from her actions and skills that she was no ordinary islander.

Arashi removed her heel from the man's side and used a constant upward pressure on the man to prevent him from answering. She still held his arm and would use the wound to control him. Right now, however, she had to contend with Andrei. Her misjudgment had allowed him to get the gun and though it was pointed on the threat, she knew he realized she could be one as well.

She glanced at her prisoner before making eye contact with Andrei. "It's just a misunderstanding. This one thinks I soured a deal we had because he doesn't have the brains to realize it messed up my plans as well." Her voice was certainly clearer, absent of all signs of intoxication, and consequently had subtly changed her accent as well. She was less inclined to keep her cover with the thug at her mercy, especially since she could always eliminate him, but that was no reason to reveal anything about herself. She just needed to avoid being shot and regain control of her weapon.

OOC: It should be noted too that since firearms are banned in Demoness, they are also banned in Feoras except for law enforcement and, of course, outlaws. :-p

Andrei raised an eyebrow at Arashi. "Just a misunderstanding? I am going to need more zan zat," he gestured to the man on the ground, "And from him too. Because right now I have no reason to fully trust eizer of you."

The man was groaning through gritted teeth and though he liked to think of himself as a tough man, the most he could conjure beneath the constant pressure was a string of curses. "Shii-ooot her!" he growled.

Arashi pulled his arm sharply and in Ni'ihau added, "Right now your arm is merely separated. I know how to make it so that it will never heal."

He managed to muster the strength to answer her with "I will make you pay, bitch!"

"That is now how to talk to a woman, ne? What would your mother think?" She returned her attention to Andrei and sighed. There was no way to gain his trust without blowing her cover and she was not as quick on her feet as her twin. "There is no reason to trust me, but if you think about it, I had that gun the whole time and I never used it on you, ne? Which makes me more trustworthy than this guy since he tried to pull it on you before you even met."

Andrei thought about Arashi'a words for moment before shrugging. "Well, I suppose you are more trustworzy zan him, given ze circumstances," he said, "But being more trustworzy does not mean I actually trust you. I do not appreciate being manipulated, and I would like to know what is going on."

"So would I and I don't appreciate my own weapon being pointed in my face, yet here we are," Arashi replied. She considered how much effort it would take to close the distance between herself and Andrei and simply disarm him. She doubted he was prepared to shoot her, despite his confidence, but she was weighing the possibility versus how much time it would save her.

She reflected on what Hana would do and scowled because it was against her better judgment. She removed the wire from her waist and slowly tossed it to Vlad. While the casing had dried, its interior workings were still dangerously moist. The wire was broken between a simple ear bud and a subtle microphone, but the setup was sophisticated in that the microphone could be used to record like a regular wire and it was quite thin. It was attached to a black device that was smaller than an inch square; it it had been on, its screen and simple functions would have been locked. Unless Hana showed up, it was the closest thing she had to credentials.

Vlad wasn't quite prepared for Arashi to toss the wire to him, and as such he nearly fumbled and dropped it. Thankfully he managed to keep his grip on it, lifting it up for both he and his brother to see. The confusion was evident on his face, though Andrei could tell what it was. Though it was a bit difficult to get a good look at the device, since he was keeping his eyes on Arashi and her assailant.

"Deci, exact ceea ce este aceasta?" Vlad asked.

"Este un dispozitiv de ascultare," Andrei said.

"Ce, cum ar fi polițiștii folosesc?"

"Poate," Andrei said, before speaking to Arashi once again, "So, are you some kind of undercover cop?

"Ai, yare! If I had wanted to say that, then I would have!" Arashi exclaimed.

"Fucking bitch! I knew it!"

She savagely twisted his arm again, causing him to scream. "Shut up before I lose patience with you," she hissed, this time in Morai to hope that she got a better reaction from him. As the language of the Demonessians, it commanded respect from the Feorasans, who remembered their days as slaves. "Yes, I am a cop. I have been trying to infiltrate this gang, but some idiot decided to have a bust instead and ruined months of work. Then another idiot started firing at the police, so I couldn't stick around and get arrested as I'd planned," she replied in English. She touched her toe to the man's joint just softly enough to elicit a pained response. "I bet it was you. You didn't seem very bright." She turned back to Andrei. "So now that my cover is blown, can I have my gun back so you don't get brought up on charges?"

Vlad visibly winced at the man's screams; aside from his status as royalty he was a normal person after all. Situations like this were outside of his comfort zone, though thoughts of how he could incorporate the night's strange events into his art did come unbidden to his mind. Andrei, however, had little visible reaction to Arashi's actions aside from a slight impressed raising of his eyebrows. It was obvious she was trained, which did lend credence to her story.

"Well to be perfectly honest it seemed like ze man already knew who you were," Andrei pointed out, "But as for the gun, not yet. I would prefer some actual proof zat you are who you say you are; I am confident zat I can easily deal wiz any charges brought up."
