Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship. The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched. With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters. Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure. |

"Any foreigner in possession of a firearm without the proper licences is charged and tried as smugglers," Arashi replied, starting to become irked. The man was smarter than most she had been dealing with as of late, but she didn't have the patience to be impressed. Instead, she was in a poor situation out of which she couldn't escape. She could abandon all three of them and later confront the thug to prevent him from outing her as a "cop", but did she want to risk it? He wouldn't head to a hospital, as they were poor here unless the client was a tourist, so she'd have to trail him. The other two didn't matter since they could barely identify her. The gun also was technically registered to her, but only in the NDAISE database, and had actually been confiscated; she knew it had a history, which helped lend credence to her cover as a criminal. "So between the two of us, we can't exactly walk into the station. What would you like exactly? It's not like I can carry my badge around with me." She considered how long it would take to cross the distance, take the gun, execute the thug, and then hold the two hostage. |

"To be perfectly honest, I have no idea," Andrei replied, "All I know is zat I do not trust you enough not to put a bullet in my back as soon as I give you your gun. No offense." |

"I have already pointed out that I could have done that already if that had been my preference," Arashi replied. |

Arashi narrowed her eyes as her annoyance reached its peak. In a split second, she released the thug's arm and crossed the difference between her and Andrei, careful to avoid being tripped by the thug. She grabbed the pistol, pointing it away from her, and obstructed his ability to fire as she attacked his grip to wrest it from him. |

Andrei reacted to Arashi's attack almost as quickly as she had moved. As she tried to wrestle the gun from his grip, Andrei moved to grab her wrist, dropping the gun as he did so. He didn't want to shoot the woman, and he really didn't want the woman to get a hold of the gun either; so he didn't want to risk her managing to wrestle it from his hands. Then, as he was gripping the woman's wrists, he quickly brought his knee up, his intent being to slam it into the woman's gut. Vlad on the other hand was taken completely by surprise by Arashi's attack, and all he managed to do was take a step back. He was nervous, and it was plain to see on his face. But he didn't want to just run; even if there was nothing he could do he still couldn't stand the thought of abandoning his brother. |

Arashi took the hit; there wasn't much else she could do. She pushed aside the pain as she'd been taught and twisted her wrists and applied proper pressure to escape Andrei's grip. Then she body checked him with the full intent to merely knock him off balance long enough for her to grab the gun. |

Arashi's move wasn't in vain, as she did manage to knock Andrei off balance. Unfortunately for her, he managed to kick the gun away from the two of them. Away from anyone, actually; it wasn't kicked in the direction of Vlad or the thug either. As soon as he was back on balance, he made for the gun. But this time it was Arashi who had the headstart. |

Arashi dived for the gun, disregarding the rough, poorly maintained road as she skid across its surface. Her hand wrapped around metal and she rolled, aiming immediately for Vlad rather than Andrei. "I shoot him!" she exclaimed, skipping a syllable in her haste to arrest his movement and regain control of the situation. |

Andrei stopped dead in his tracks as Arashi pointed the gun at his brother, while Vlad himself had begun to actually shake in fear. And it was now that Andrei wished he had shot her dead as soon as she'd rushed towards him; but what was in the past was done and now she was threatening to kill Vlad. Andrei stared at Arashi for a moment before speaking, the rage evident in his gaze. "So, what now?" he said, practically spitting the words. |
