Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship.

The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched.

With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters.

Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure.

"Now you back off five paces," Arashi commanded, never taking her eyes off Andrei despite where her gun was pointed; she knew he was the true threat. She carefully stood and waited for Andrei to move before continuing. She approached the thug and in Ni'ihau said, "If you survive, tell Miklew that he's not to expa-"

"I don't know Mi-"

"Yes, you do," she said firmly. "Tell him he's not to expand his territory into anything new or I'll come for him." Then she shot him in the leg, purposely nicking him to make him bleed, and the wound may or may not be fatal depending on how close she'd gotten to the femoral artery. She doubted she could recover her cover story, but it was the best she could come up with under the circumstances. Maybe Hana could come up with something better when she had time to think. Regardless, her mission had to prevent the Apostates from gaining traction in Feoras and finding out if it had gotten its hands onto biological weapons. They had failed in the latter, but intimidating the local populace might help with the former.

She looked back to Andrei. "You stay here. Or don't. You might not want to be associated with him." Then she took her eyes off Andrei to look at Vlad. "You're coming with me."

Andrei backed away from Arashi as he was told. And it was abundantly clear that Arashi was definitely not just some undercover cop. After all, undercover cops didn't shoot and possibly kill, disarmed subjects. At last they didn't in Cetatsenia. He was also worried about the possibility of her either being a criminal or crooked, which was why he stayed silent about the fact that the two brothers were royalty. He just hoped Vlad had that same sense.

And in a way, Vlad did have that sense. Though it was more out of speechless fear then any sort of rational thought. He'd come to Feoras to see the sights and meet the people, not get held up at gunpoint by a supposed cop. Then Arashi looked at him, and informed him that he would be coming with her. He froze, as some part of him had been hoping she would just let them go. He stood there for a moment, obviously afraid of the whole situation before he saw Andrei nod his head. So Vlad just looked back to Arashi, nervously shaking his head.

"I am coming too," Andrei said, "I am not letting you go anywhere wiz my brozer alone."

Arashi turned back to him again. "No, you are not. I am in charge here and it will just be the two of us," she said firmly. "I have no intention of hurting either one of you, but if you try to do something foolish I cannot guarantee that will not quickly change and I think you know which one of you will get hurt if I do change my mind." Without turning her head, she said, "Vlad, come here. Andrei, please have a seat on the bench."

Once again Vlad looked to his brother, who nodded, before he did as Arashi said. Andrei himself complied with her demands as well, sitting down on the bench as he thought of a way out of this mess. Perhaps it'd be fore the best if Arashi did steal away with Vlad; if he called his brother and informed him that a police officer had kidnapped his brother he may be able to get a hold of the Demonessian authorities to come and deal with the problem. But that could take far too long, and Andrei would much rather deal with the problem himself. But it wasn't as though he could just walk up to her, since she'd shoot Vlad. And so he sat and waited.

Arashi took Vlad's arm, firmly holding the sleeve, and kept the gun trained on him as she forced him to go with her. "This will be over quickly if you do as I say," she said. "Walk quickly." She couldn't keep her eyes on Andrei as they retreated, but she kept listening and took Vlad down the road toward the city stretch. It would be a long walk, though she intended to make it less awkward as soon as they were a safe distance from Vlad's brother.

Meanwhile, the man on the ground was alternatively begging for assistance and swearing. The pain would only allow him to do so much, though he realized that it became easier to manage it the longer he was in it. Perhaps it was the fear of death. He couldn't bear to move his arm, yet he had to in order to sit up and check his leg, which was bleeding profusely. He knew nothing about what to do about it. He was pressing his hand against the wound and yet blood kept spilling through his fingers. He moved his undamaged arm several times, trying to figure out if he was just pressing in the wrong place, and started panicking when his actions had no effect.

Vlad silently followed the woman's orders, too fearful to even say anything. He hoped that when she said it would be over quickly she meant she'd release him and not kill him. Though he had the common sense not to mention who he actually was, unless he actually thought she was going to kill him.

Meanwhile Andrei sat on the bench, watching Arashi walk away with her brother. He thought about trying to rush her, but decided it was too much of a risk with her so close to his brother. He was still furious, and it was plain to see on his face, but he couldn't do anything. Once the pair was out of his sight, he started to pull his phone out in order to call his brother. But then he heard the man on the ground begin to panic, and turned his attention there.

In all likelihood the man deserved to die; whether or not Arashi was actually a cop this man was indeed a criminal and had been perfectly willing to kill the woman. But that didn't change the fact that he deserved to be tried and sentenced, not shot out on the street and left to die like an animal. And, unfortunately, Andrei's nature got the better of him and he rushed over to the man's side.

"I am trying to help you, so stay still and shut up," Andrei said, still on edge, as he began to apply first aid. Blood was pouring out of the wound, and Andrei hoped the bullet hadn't hit an artery. However, his hands weren't going to stem the flow and there was an obvious lack of bandages on the street. So he quickly removed his shirt and began applying pressure to the bullet wound.

Then he handed his phone to the man, "I am a bit busy at ze moment, so call yourself an ambulance."

Arashi held onto Vlad firmly, intending only to direct him rather than hurt him, but she didn't hesitate to if it meant obedience. Once they were a safe distance from Andrei, she slipped the gun back into her waistband - this time in the front - and relied on strength and intimidation to direct him. She watched him carefully as they reentered a populated area. Walking was not unusual and the vehicles that were around were primarily used for tourists or rich citizens, so the avenues were crowded.

---

The man seemed reluctant at first to allow Andrei to administer to him and struggled, but Andrei's confidence cut into his panic and he allowed Andrei to continue. However, he seemed entirely confused when Andrei tossed him the phone. "What?" He held the phone like it was a foreign object.

Vlad continued to comply, though by this time he had calmed down and was no longer quite as physically shaken. He was still scared of course, but the woman putting the gun away had calmed him even if he was well aware that she could kill him with her bare hands if need be. He also had the presence of mind to try and look to see where they were, or where they were going. If he could get a few minutes alone,l he wanted to be able to call his brother and tell him where he was. He had briefly thought about trying to escape into the crowds, but decided that was a bad idea unless an excellent opportunity presented itself.

---

Andrei's assumption was simply that the man didn't know what to do with the smartphone Andrei owned, so after a split second of debate he grabbed it back. He slid his finger across the screen and put in the password before bringing up the actual phone. He wiped it off on his pants before handing it back to the man, the screen now only smudged with blood.

"Call an ambulance. Or ze police. Or whoever it is zat you call here," Andrei said as he elevated the man's leg, "And do not argue, because I am turning you in eizer way."

There were several people on the streets, some pressing closely as they passed, but they did not stay long on the street. Even if Arashi hadn't taken a side route, it would have been difficult to remember where he was. The numbering system on the street was irregular at best and seemed to have no logical pattern. As they crossed into the side streets navigation became worse. The city had not been designed for easy access and certainly did not benefit from the same grid system Demoness had created in its own country. In fact, the city had been allowed to become labyrinthine to make it harder to invade, though its shape had become more distorted than it had been originally intended and it was difficult to upgrade the city with modern amenities due to its irregular structure.

After approximately thirty minutes, they arrived in a questionable part of town far from the main street. It wasn't as low-class as it got on the island, but certainly no tourists would be found here unless they were lost. Arashi guided Vlad into the basement of one of the apartments, a place that looked particularly dismal from the outside. She knocked and paused to wait for a response. After an answering set of knocks, she opened the door and shoved Vlad through.

The room was small and poorly lit, but it was evident in the shadows that there were several pieces of equipment stored here. A radio sat on the table, tuned to the police band, and several sheets of paper and a pencil surrounded it. A woman, identical in appearance to Arashi, stood behind the door with a pistol in her hand. Her eyebrows raised in surprise, but she spoke calmly. "Kiu?" she asked.

"Mi trovis lin," Arashi answered reluctantly.

"Kio signifas?" Hana replied. As she studied her sister's face and the depth of disappointment she had in herself, she realized what had happened. The mission hadn't just failed with the warehouse; they were in deeper than she thought. They had been compromised. That was the only explanation for the hostage. "Purigitaj?"

"Neniu." Her sister's lack of response set off warning bells. The twins acted with a certain level of professionalism and precision. That as how they had operated for years and why the team only consisted of the two of them. Something was wrong with her sister.

Hana turned to Vlad and smiled. "Hello, dear," she said in English. "I'm sure you have questions and you're quite upset. I promise that will clear up soon. However, I will need to touch you right now. Just relax." Her voice was soothing as she firmly frisked him, removing any identifiable information from him, including his wallet and his cell phone. Immediately upon discovering his cell phone, she pulled the battery out and discarded it; they would have to move soon as phones could be tracked and she didn't know what else had been compromised. While she frisked him, she continued with her sister. "Kial li tie? Vi nomon?" she asked. She glanced back when she received no reply, and noted her sister's expression. It was something Hana would have to figure out later when they didn't have to worry about a security threat. "Rigardu notoj," she told her sister, meaning the papers on the table. There had been chatter about the raid down at the dock and several other tidbits she had picked up while changing channels, but she hadn't had time to analyze the data. Arashi obediently sat down while Hana turned back to Vlad and smiled. "Dear, can you tell me your name?" she asked. She knew full well what his name was, having looked at his wallet, but she wanted him to trust her.

OOC: This is Esperanto and is meant to represent "twin speak".

---

The man shook his head. "I don't know the number!" It was difficult to tell if he was being purposefully difficult.

Vlad had absolutely no idea where they were when they reached the apartment building, or any way how to get to it. The city was indeed a labyrinth, even more so than cities that simply grew naturally. And when they reached the basement, he wasn't sure what to think. It could be some sort of little HQ for some undercover police officers, but it could be something far more sinister.

However, Hana's attitude put him at ease. She was far nicer than her sister, though Vlad had to remember that she had the same job as her sister. Even if that wasn't actually a cop. He stayed still as the woman frisked him, though inside he had a certain measure of worry. After all, he'd wanted to keep the fact that he was a Prince hidden. But his identification all clearly had the seal of House Suveraneshti rather prominently displayed on it, which identified him as a member of the royal family. But Hana either didn't realize the significance of the seal, possibly believing it to be a feature on all Cetatsenian IDs, or she wanted him to admit it himself.

"Vlad Suveraneshti," he responded after a short moment, she did already know his name after all. And it wasn't unheard of for people to have the surname Suveraneshti, it just meant they had male ancestors stretching back to a Voivode somewhere in history. But he saw no reason to point out his status as an actual Prince; not yet at least.

------------

"How ze fucking hell can you not know ze number?" Andrei said, the anger evident in his voice. The longer he spent with this idiot was the more time that woman had his brother, "I swear to God if you are just being difficult I will snap your neck myself."

He wouldn't break the man's neck unless he had no choice, of course. Andrei was a soldier but he wasn't a murderer. There was, after all, a reason he was applying first aid to a man he knew was a dangerous criminal. But the man didn't know this, and if he was just being difficult then threats seemed an effective way to get him to cooperate.
