Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship. The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched. With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters. Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure. |

"Ah, but why wait when you don't have to?" Kakia asked. The street was no different than the others they had passed before, but the crowd did thin out as they drew closer to the restaurant. As could be expected, there were several seats outside and several patrons opted to sit on the patio to enjoy the sun shaded by an umbrella. The inside, however, appeared to be far more crowded, but the cool air washed over them as soon as the establishment's front door was opened. There were quite a few people in the waiting area and the majority of them were tourists chattering in their foreign languages. Kakia slipped off after saying a word, presumably to speak with someone important about their wait as promised. |

Kakia had slipped off before either Vlad or Andrei had a chance to answer her question, so they simply waited patiently in the waiting area. They both listened for a moment before determining that none of the other tourists were Cetatsens; while it would be nice to speak to someone else from their country, they also didn't want to cause a scene if someone recognized the two of them as royalty. "Well, Kakia's awfully nice, isn't she?" Vlad said, switching from English back to his native tongue, "And I think this trip is going to be far more enjoyable if we're with someone who knows the area." "I suppose so. If I'm going to be here, I might as well get the most out of it," Andrei said. "Oh, don't go on like this again," Vlad teased, "I saw you having fun when we played volleyball." At his brother's response, Andrei smiled a bit, "Well, I can't disagree with you. It was fun, and intense. Especially seeing you try to keep up." Vlad rolled his eyes in response to his brother's comment about his less-than-stellar performance, but he smiled all the same to show that he was taking it in stride. The two continued to chat away in Cetatsenian until Kakia returned with word of whether they'd get in without a wait or not. |

Kakia came back a few minutes later chatting up a storm in another language. It wasn't the common language they'd heard among the Feorasans, but the tourist pamphlets all cautioned on the many languages the island spoke; it was likely she was speaking one of these. She finished her conversation, which sounded like it may have been an introduction from the tone of her voice. Then she remembered herself. "Kommi said if we wait a minute he'll be able to clear the table," she said in English. "Best seat for you. She and I are old friends," he explained. "But you two better behave with her." She shook her head and said something in her language and he replied before he excused himself and wandered back toward the floor. "I am a bit surprised. Normally when I invite two boys out, they misunderstand. Or they think I will rob them." |

The two Cetatsens weren't surprised by the fact that Kakia seemed to be speaking a different language then before, they had known that there were numerous cultures and languages across the island despite its size. Both Vlad and Andrei nodded at Kommi's explanation; neither had any intention of misbehaving with her in any way. "Well, you are talking to two men from a culture zat views taking your clozes of and taking a baz togezer ze same way most see friends sitting around and chatting," Vlad replied to a grin, "Besides, Andrei is married." "And if you tried to rob us, ze only person who would end up regretting it would be you," Andrei added; it didn't sound like his intent was to be menacing or to boast, but rather he stated the words like simple fact, "Anyway, so where do we sit?" |

Kakia pointed back the way she came. "There is a side door back that that leads to the patio, which has a view of the bay. The awning is shading it and there are plenty of fans, so we can enjoy the ocean." Kommi must have reappeared and signaled her for she nodded and then sashayed back toward the entrance as she said. The balcony was not as crowded and was clearly meant to be a more private area. There were probably only five other tables and the patrons appeared to be wealthier than others inside. Within a moment, a waitress came by and asked for their drink order. She smiled and Kakia and they had a short conversation in which she introduced Andrei and Vlad. The menu featured many native dishes, ostensibly dressed up for the photograph, ranging from meats and soups to sweet desserts. Most of the ingredients, however, were unfamiliar to their eyes as they were not widely exported outside the region. |

The pair followed Kakia to the balcony, and once they were seating Vlad spent a long moment staring off at the ocean. In fact, he was so caught up in gazing out at the scenery that Andrei had to tap him on the shoulder and tell him to start looking at the menu. Indeed, neither of them were familiar with much of the ingredients, but that didn't seem to matter much to them. "Oh, care arata delicios. Dar care arata bine la fel de bine," Vlad said, thinking his opinion off the dishes to himself out loud. Meanwhile Andrei looked up at the waitress, "Do you have wine here?" |

The waitress nodded. "We have many fruit wines available," she said as she gently reached for the menu and flipped it toward the back, where the wine was listed. "Grapes are not native here, so we have a limited selection of grape wine, but there are many domestic choices. I suggest the plum or pineapple wine if you want to try a staple. However, the island has recently started to develop a rose hip wine, which is quickly gaining popularity." The wine list was about what one would expect as average for domestic brands, with the grape wines reflecting an increased price for importation, but the rose hip wine was certainly the most expensive. "Personally, I prefer-" Kakia paused and exchanged a few words with their waitress before continuing. "Lycee wine. It is quite sweet." |

"I zink I want ze rose hip wine," Vlad said, "If it is getting popular, it cannot be zat bad. And it has such a pretty name too." Andrei shot his brother a sideways glance, though he wasn't particularly surprised to hear that one of his brother's reasons for choosing the drink was because he liked its name. "I zink I will have ze lycee wine," he said after deliberating for a moment or two, "If it is sweet like you say, I should like it." "I have always found it humorous zat such a big, tough soldier has such a sweet tooth," Vlad said, grinning at his brother. Andrei let out a short chuckle, and then began looking at his menu once again to try and decide what he actually wanted to eat. |

The waitress nodded and left to allow them more time to mull over the menu. Kakia repositioned herself so that she was facing the brothers. It should also be noted that like Demoness, the table was low to the ground and the "seats" were cushions on the floor. In fact, it was soft enough to be similar to sitting on a bed. Towels were also provided moments later to allow the three of them to "wash" before dinner was served. "So you are a soldier?" Kakia asked. "We did not have much time for conversation while we played. Tell me about yourselves." |

"I am a Lieutenant in ze Cetatsenian Land Forces, specifically ze Eighz Special Forces Brigade," Andrei said, shrugging as though it wasn't a particularly big deal, "When I mentioned earlier zat ze weazer here is better zan on top of a frozen mountaintop, I was speaking from personal experience; Special Forces training can be razer extreme." "Well I believe zat my occupation is far moe impressive zan being a Special Forces officer," Vlad said with a smile, "I... am an artist. But not only zat, I am an artist who actually makes enough money to live comfortably; an impressive feat, if I do say so myself." |
