Feoras is a land of great beauty and great sorrow. In ancient times, the isolated island was its own world, warring, celebrating, and living by its own rules. Its first contact with the outside world was violent, but it resulted in the assimilation of the invader culture into its own. However, this would not be the trend and the next encounter ended with Feoras being the assimilated party. For centuries, it was subjugated by Demonessian masters until the modern age brought with it change: enormous destruction, followed by brief freedom and then patronizing stewardship.

The island suffered from poverty, but there was still beauty to be found. While its five remaining ethnicities live in an enforced peace, the tourist areas benefit from the economic boon and generate a false sense of wealth. Tourists are attracted by Mauna Inaka, the volcanic center of the island, and the black sand beaches she generated. The gentle slope of the continental shelf allows swimmers to wade into a seemingly endless sea and walk up to boats parked in the shallows. Its coral reefs are untouched in certain parts of the island and the fauna found there are unmatched.

With the economy centered around the tourism trade, it is hard to leave the main areas. However, the adventurous tourist may find other ways to pass the time. The Genfiotes in the south control the tourism areas, making sure they are clean and presentable, as do their neighbors in Ahi'iana. The Genfiotes, however, present a curiosity: their religious leaders, known as the Undying. These leaders dress entirely in grey and cover their faces with a mask and veil. When they speak, they speak as if they are not an individual; they speak as if they are from a collective consciousness, which can be unnerving for some. In Fuwoku, one can find the farmers, who toil away in the dirt and respect animals as much as humans. For the adventurous, there is Kain, a land of warriors where the leader is determined through battle prowess. While Mpali represents the industrialized portion of the island, Isis certainly fairs the best as the seat of the former colonial masters.

Humanitarians may seek to provide relief from poverty and criminals may find a new foothold, but tourists, explorers, and travelers may find adventure.

Liko's eyes bulged with surprise and for a moment he was overtaken by primal terror. He choked out, "Maybe."

Andrei knelt down next to Liko, staring at the man for a long moment before pointing the knife in his face. "Does maybe sound like an actual answer to you?"

"Might know. Might know where he went," Liko sputtered. This was closer to the violence to which he was used, including from Luana.

"All of zese 'maybes' and 'mights' are not helping eizer of us at all," Andrei said, putting the point of the knife right underneath Liko's eye. His voice was starting to take on a more calm tone, but it was obvious that that didn't mean his anger was starting to go away. If anything, he seemed even angrier.

"I don't know. We look different places!"

The sun was starting to lighten the sky and it would soon be dawn.

"Well if you do not know for certain, zen you can take me to wherever you zink zey went," Andrei said, standing back up. He looked up at the dawn beginning to break, and was honestly surprised; he didn't realize it had been that long. And that wasn't good; who knew where his brother could be by now. Assuming they hadn't killed killed him. The thought made Andrei narrow his eyes in anger again, before he looked down at Liko again. "So let us get moving," he said, then looked at the knife in his hand, "Do you have a sheaz for zis?"

Liko meekly handed Andrei the sheath and started heading in a different direction. He was slow, clearly leading Andrei. Kimo had gone to the north Coalition medical house, which was closer to their base of operations, and was supposed to head back to the house after checking there. Since Polunu was at this house, that should mean Kimo was back at the house. They walked for several minutes as the sun rose and more people began to venture outside their homes to start their business.

From where Hana had left him, Vlad began to stir from his sleep. When he awoke to find himself covered up, he panicked and immediately stood up. Thankfully the foliage Hana had covered him with simply fell off of him, and he breathed a sigh of relief when he realized he was still in where he'd fallen asleep. That was when he noticed the fire in the distance, and the figure standing before it. It looked like a woman, but he wasn't sure who exactly it was. And even if he could see her face, he couldn't be certain it was Hana and not her far less polite sister.

So he hid himself behind a nearby tree, and peeked out at to watch. Then he saw the bag sitting on the ground, along with what seemed like a note. He quickly scrambled from behind the tree to pick up the note and scuttled back, reading it over. It was instructions on how to get back to the beach, and Vlad was certain that once he arrived he could make it back to his hotel. Then he could call his brother and tell him that he was safe, then he could drop off the bag at the police and the entire incident would finally be over.

But he couldn't leave yet, and it was because of the woman he could see in front of the fire. It wasn't too far of a stretch to assume she'd set it, but her identity was the issue. If it was Hana, then there'd be no problem. Anyone else, and Vlad didn't want to risk them seeing him. Hana had mentioned these people were dangerous after all. So he hid behind the tree, waiting for the person to leave and hoping that he hadn't already made too much noise.

------

Andrei followed Liko silently, after having attached the sheath to the side of his shorts. After all, he didn't really have anything to talk about with the man. Not at the moment at least; once they arrived that would be a different story. As he watched the people make their way out of their houses to start the new day, he was mentally kicking himself. He should've just abandoned Polunu to his fate and tried to follow his brother's kidnapper. True, it would've been difficult but it wouldn't have involved at this running around with criminals he wouldn't trust as far as he could throw them. And it wouldn't have taken anywhere near as long; the wait in the clinic had been far longer than he'd realized.

Hana had cultivated a long temper and it had served her well over the years. This was why she hadn't simply screamed or chased after her sister and instead elected to think over the problem logically. She did not know where her sister was headed, though she could guess based on the data they had on the area, and her sister's mental state was certainly disturbed. Her sister's previous disappearance had raised several questions and she weighed what she knew of those events against what was occurring. Her sister was the superior fighter and both of them had agreed years ago that the mission's importance outweighed their lives, which meant if her sister thought she could finish the mission then she wouldn't hesitate to kill Hana.

If Hana killed Arashi she would have to dispose of her body and possibly expose the fact that they were twins. If Hana allowed Arashi to continue, Arashi could be caught and she could possibly expose her existence, thereby accidentally exposing Hana. If Hana reported in, a task force might be sent out to apprehend her sister and contain the situation. She decided with a heavy heart that was probably the best choice.

The roar of the fire had obscured any noise Vlad may have made and now that it was starting to heat up it was time to leave. She turned around to collect Vlad; there was no need to leave him to fend for himself. She took a few steps and noted Vlad had awoken, but she decided against greeting him until she was closer. When she approached, however, she was certain to be genial instead of displaying the frustration she felt and greeted him.

---

The locals eyed Andrei suspiciously until they realized he was with Liko, and then they started to avert their eyes. Andrei being shirtless identified him as someone who possibly lived on the island a while and any foreigners who did that were either rich or, if they were in the slums like this one, a criminal. However, it seemed that a rival gang did have the mind to confront Liko and made an approach while shouting in Ni'ihau.

This was not good. There were four men, which Liko certainly couldn't take alone, and especially not without a knife, and then there was Andrei. He didn't think the two of them would survive an encounter without being hurt and a thought entered his mind that he should lure the gang closer and convince them to attack Andrei, after which he would run. Liko shouted back.

The four men were of average height and build and, like Liko, seemed to have gotten into their share of fights. Each of them had a blade of some kind, which was less menacing when Andrei realized that nearly everyone armed themselves, either with a proper weapon or a shiv of some kind.

Vlad blinked and looked at the woman as she approached, recognizing her before she greeted him. However, he was still not entirely convinced that it was Hana and not Arashi. But he'd know soon enough; somehow he doubted that Arashi would even pretend to be as polite to him as Hana had been. So when she greeted him, he was fairly certain it was Hana.

"Alo zere," he said, "So, uh, is zere a reason you came back? I mean, you did leave a note and all." Silently he was hoping she hadn't decided to kill him as a loose end, but she seemed pleasant enough. Though he knew that that meant very little.

------

Andrei wasn't happy with the appearance of the men, from the way they were shouting it was obvious they were no friends of Liko's despite Andrei not knowing what it was they were saying. He didn't like the odds, though he didn't think he'd lose if it came to a fight. They were, after all, only street thugs; they did outnumber him and Liko though, which was never good.

Then Liko shouted back at them, and Andrei immediately glared at him. "What ze hell do you zink you are doing?" he asked angrily. Quietly, but angrily, "We do not have ze time for zis."
