Kaemu Hoshi, better known as Sacred Rock, was an environmental masterpiece. The ancient city endeavored to keep a balance between its roots and to harmonize with the surrounding nature. The majority of the city lay on the south side of the Blood River, which wound its way northwest, then north, and finally back around south, encompassing the entire city and leaving the Sacred Plateau on the north bank. At one point, the plateau was alone on the north side along with an open field, known as the Field of Suicides, and the Sacred Grove, but now it had a neighbor in the international airport.

The city was a forest - both literally and figuratively. The Demonessian mindset was to economize the space, utilizing as much as possible. This translated into tall buildings with many offices and uses. The outside of the buildings did not go to waste: many had solar panels, living walls, or utilized other methods of eliminating or minimizing its carbon footprint. Many buildings sported solar panels or complicated hydroponic systems that also utilized the sun's energy to cool the building, eliminate carbon footprint, or even grow crops. People walked blocks to their destination, sometimes crossing walkways between buildings high above the streets, but many also utilized the train system with its punctual schedule. While the avenues were wide enough to allow commercial and private travel via automobiles, they were more often traversed by foot or bicycle traffic and were occupied by retailers selling their wares from carts and booths. Sacred Rock was a green city.

Demoness built three new venues for the Olympics, though it would utilize five areas.

Venue One: East Tower

Posted Image
Historically, Sacred Rock was capable of cutting off river trade through the city by sealing off both sides of the Blood River with heavy chains suspended between towers on either side of the city. These chains no longer exist in modern times, but the towers still stand. A new boathouse was built next to one of the historic towers to facilitate the events, which would take place on the river.

Events:
Men's single sculls (rowing)
Men's coxless pairs (rowing)
Women's single sculls (rowing)
Women's coxless pairs (rowing)

Venue Two: Tuilelaith Range

Posted Image
Located on the north shore, Tuilelaith Range is the first structure allowed to be built in what was historically undeveloped lands. It is technically northeast of the city, past the Sacred Grove, and requires special transport to cross the river and arrive on site.

Events:
Equestrian, eventing (dressage)
Equestrian, jumping
Mounted Archery
Men's target archery (recurve)
Women's target archery (recurve)
Men's 25 m rapid fire pistol
Men's rifle three positions
Men's skeet
Women's 25 m rapid fire pistol
Women's rifle three positions
Women's skeet

Venue Three: Olympic Stadium

Posted Image
Though not extensively into sports, Demoness has found a fondness for them through football and now the Olympics. A new stadium was built to the south of the city to accommodate the majority of the events and hopefully host future sporting events.

Events:
Tennis (five sets)
Men's 56 kg (weightlifting)
Men's 85 kg (weightlifting)
Men's over 105 kg (weightlifting)
Women's 48 kg (weightlifting)
Women's 63 kg (weightlifting)
Women's over 75 kg (weightlifting)
Gymnastics (mixed)
Men's decathalon
Women's decathalon
Volleyball, indoor
Men's boxing
Women's boxing
Taekwondo

Venue Four: Main Street

Posted Image
Because most roads in Sacred Rock are not utilized by automobiles but by foot traffic, it was decided that these shaded thoroughfares would serve as their own venue. Main Street, the widest avenue, would serve this purpose and has been blocked off to traffic. This path will take competitors through a scenic route through the older parts of the city and past points of cultural interest.

Events:
Men's marathon
Women's marathon
Men's time trial (cycling)
Women's time trial (cycling)

Venue Five: Olympic Natatorium

Posted Image
Demonessians aren't well known for their preference for water, but have been eager to prove their worth after witnessing the last Olympics. This full size natatorium was built to Olympic standards to accommodate competitors and to increase interest within the local population.

Events:
Men's 100 m backstroke
Men's 100 m breaststroke
Men's 100 m freestyle
Women's 100 m backstroke
Women's 100 m breaststroke
Women's 100 m freestyle

The spectators waited restlessly in their seats in Olympic Stadium. Suddenly, there was light and color and sound! A short classical Demonessian piece was played to get the attention of the audience as the screens surrounding the stadium lit up with greetings in the various languages of the countries.

Dancers exploded out of the doors into the floor of the stadium, pouring like an unending river, as a grander classical piece began to play. Most were dressed in colorful outfits with long skirts that were split up the sides. As they twirled around, it was evident that some of these represented flowers that danced on the breeze. A few others were dressed in bright blue or light blue and carried in their hands long streamers; these represented a storm gust as they "blew" around the flowers in a terrible storm as the winds and rain.

Posted Image

The winds calmed as a few more dancers appeared wearing the costume of a large dragon. It weaved its way around the flowers, chasing away the aggressive drops of rain and calming the wind so that it would be a pleasant spring day; this was evident from the screens, which displayed pictures of Demonessian historical monuments that were all in the state of spring.

Posted Image

Then the flowers began to "bloom", dancing around and with the dragon, until a woman in red appeared. Her dress was extravagant, resembling the robes of the Empress, and for a few minutes she danced with the dragon alone as if she were calming the beast. Then the flowers danced around her and eventually a few picked her up on their shoulders and carried her out, followed by the dragon and the rest of the dancers.

Posted Image

The screens stopped displaying scenes of the country and instead started cycling through the flags of the gathered nations, starting first with a picture of Lavinaria from space. On the ground, flag bearers began to exit the doors, followed by the athletes of their respective nations. Demoness went first, as it was the host country, and displayed its pride in red and white. Then all the other nations followed in alphabetical order, showing just how many had come to participate in this worldwide event. They walked down the promenade and stood in the respective places along the stadium grounds, making an aisle between them.

Posted Image

A lone runner completed his long journey by walking proudly down the aisle the nations had formed with a torch held high in his hand. He walked to the center, lit a special spout at the bottom, and the audience watched as the "torch" bloomed before them; Demoness had decided to experiment with a way to display the flame in something other than a cauldron.

Posted Image

Then Jia Li stood in her VIP box. Instead of the traditional dress, she wore something she felt reflected the traditions of the Olympics. She grinned as she spoke. "As Empress of this nation, I would like to say that we are honored to have been chosen as the host for this year's Olympics. The Olympics are not just a sporting event; they also represent peace and the ability to work together. These athletes are the epitome of their respective sports and have trained all their lives to perfect their art. These events are to celebrate them and their nations, who have chosen to support their athletes and allow them to showcase their abilities before the world. May the Olympics always allow its participants to see beyond borders, to participate in good-natured competitions, and to celebrate humanity free from the restraints of conflict. Let the Olympics begin!"

Day 1
Venue 1: East Tower

Posted Image
The day started with a beautiful sunrise which framed the calm Blood River. As athletes and observers woke from their rented rooms in the city, they rushed to the riverside to watch the Men's Single Sculls races. Those who were lucky enough to get tickets viewed the days events from a cafe in the East Tower.

As the race began it was clear that the competitor from Cetatsenia had a dominating lead followed closely by the athletes from Demoness and Eigamst. Finishing with a six second lead over his nearest rivals it was Cetatsenia who carried the day. Meanwhile photo finish was used to determine who of the closely locked commemorators from Demoness and Eigamst carried the silver. Even as judges awarded the silver to the athlete from Eigamst, calls could be heard from the Demonassian representative of "rigging."

In the end Cetatsenia took the gold placing a Olympic record at 6:58.30 followed by Eigamst with 7:04.57 for silver and finally Demoness with 7:04.96 taking home the bronze.

The Men's Coxless Pairs carried with it a great upset. The world champion rowing team from Demoness failed to even make the podiums as did their rivals from Cetatsenia. Instead the unlikely team from Benuhal won gold, almost capsizing their boat in celebration.

The race was not as close as it's predecessor and did not require slow motion replay to determine any of the placings. In the end Benuhal took the gold with 6:37.51 followed by Eigamst with 6:38.60 with the bickering team from Gran Draconis somehow managing to capture a bronze with 6:44.46.

Then it was the women's turn to show their mastery of the water as they set up for the Women's Singles Sculls. The favourite in the competition was the competitor from Demoness who had recently won the world title in the sport and looked the most capable amongst the Olympians. As paddle hit water the race looked to be a tight one as each woman poured her soul into pushing themselves along the water. Benuhal took an early lead which was overturned near the end of the race by the local Demonessian competitor. When asked by reporters what gave her that last minute burst of energy, the athlete from Demoness responded simply that it was the Goddess who had guided her to the win.

The Women's Coxless pairs was no less heated. It would be the first competition where the minor nations of Feoras and Ilans would be allowed to compete apart from their protector nations. Despite their drive to place these two nations lost out on podium positions. Instead the medals went to Demoness, Gran Draconis and Benuhal respectively.

Being the first of several events that day to be held in the Olympic stadium the Men's 56kg weight lift carried with it a set of surprises. First and foremost was the competitor from Ilans who refused to even lift the minimum weight instead speaking out on his countries isolationist policies before being hurried offstage by Demonassian Security members. Second was the Benuhalese weightlifter who injured himself trying to compete with the rising score of the Cetatsenian competitor. The most shocking event however when when improperly secured weights lead to the injury and hospitalization of the weightlifter from Demoness.

Even with Olympic coordinators reeling the event did still result in a first time ever medal being given to the weightlifter from Feoras who placed silver with a net weight of 270kg. Cetatsenia placed first with 278kg and the Eigamst made the podium with 262kg.

Following the Men's category the women showed their prowess by making sure that all competitors completed the event. This fact alone would pale to the event which saw the representative from Demoness gain an early lead in her lifts after recuperating from a surgery earlier that year. With a combination of fan support and pure will, she carried her home nation to victory despite 2 failed attempts mid way through the competition.

Demoness clinched the gold for a third time that day with a net weight lifted of 210 kg followed by Banuhal with 204kg and Eigamst taking up the rear with 189 kg.

As the athletes for the tennis competition filed in many greats from the professional league could be picked out from the crowd such as Arni Banti of Benuhal who had just won the Benuhalese Open earlier in the year. Compared to most sports in the Olympics tennis had the highest concentration of professional athletes making it a hotbed for nationalist pride.

As the rankings this year would be based on the highest amount of overall wins each match was heated as the last with competitors trying to push their ranking ever higher. However it also resulted in the most embarrassing tie to ever occur during Olympics. By the end of the competition 4 competitors had to share the bronze medal position causing Olympic commentators and rule makers to debate tie breaking measures in future Olympics.

Cameras rolled as the marathon's participants ended their long trek across the city. Indeed by the time racers where reaching the finish line the sun had already set. The racers in the Men's category had separated in two major groups during the races, with the leaders a whole 12 minutes ahead at their furthest extend. During the race however the runner from Arcaica had collided with a tree in one of the more heavily forested sections of the run. Observers comment the collision happen after her received a bottle from a checkpoint and collided with the tree as he drank. As observers ferried over in special designed taxi boats, the athletes and their horses warmed up for the coming horsemanship events. The day was a good one for riding; sunny with clouds and a sitting at a warm 20 degrees Celsius. Being one of the most fiercely competitive competitions in the Olympic roster with many nations participating boasting a long aristocratic heritage, it looked to be one of the most well attended thus far. The only odd member in attendance was the zebra ridden by the competitor from Benuhal.

As horse and rider danced across the field it looked like the athlete from Demoness would take the gold until in a near perfect routine if not for the young lady from Eigamst ousted the local favourite from his seat. The newcomer from Eigamst had actually been the team's second and was filling in for the team captain. She stated that she won it all for her family and for the Fatherland.

As the athletes and their horses returned to their respective stalls an new set of faces emerged; both horses and competitors seemed to brim with an unseen energy. The sport of jumping had been a favourite of nobility and commoners alike in times past and it still held onto much of the mysticism of knighthood and chivalry.

As fans held their breath it was apparent that the cream of the crop was in attendance today but, some seemed drastically better then others. Most competitors fell behind the lead group form Blogia, Demoness and Eigamst early on but, the competitor from Benuhal was not to be denied. Squeaking in with a bronze, she broke into tears as soon as she completed her last jump. She had to be escorted off site by handlers before being awarded her medal later that day.

The doors of the Olympic Natatorium opened to the international community at noon that day. Pristine water drawn from the Blood River greeted the athletes as they prepped for their dives. The crowd favourite for the competition was a newcomer from Blogia who had sweeped the world title by storm earlier in the year.

However as the competition started he had to struggle to stay on the platform only to be pushed off after a spectacular show by the competitor from Eigamst who finished her routine with a clean triple backflip. Meanwhile the athlete from from Benuhal who had competed for his nation in the last Olympics clinched gold, a surprise to even himself.

The women were next on the diving board the quality of their routines far outshining the last Olympics, with every athlete who made the podium being able to break the former Olympic record of 309.95. In the end it was not form that won the match, but difficulty of selected moves. Although Gran Draconis' clean routine would be marked as one of the most elegantly executed in modern history, her unwillingness to perform some more of the complicated forms left her in the dust of her Cetatsen counterpart. When asked about her rigidness in her routine she responded, "The military would have it no other way."

Day 3

Record Sheet

Venue Three: Olympic Stadium

The day was a hot one, with no clouds in the sky a decision was made by the Olympic Advisory Board to delay all outdoor sports until the hot weather abated. Instead ticket holders we ushered into the Olympic Stadium as it's air conditioning services were strong enough to push away the heat. Still it would be a day of struggle against the weather for the athletes themselves.

Despite this the decathletes soldier on to finish the other end of their competition starting with the 1500m run. The run itself would have been the easy part for most of the athletes except that the weather almost caused the athlete from Benuhal to almost collapse near the end of the race. Still able top hold onto his 4th position he never was able to catch up to his nearest competitor from Cetatsenia who managed to take home bronze falling from his former gold rank position earlier in the competition.

Pushing herself hard, the athlete from Gran Draconis was able to rush past the representative of Cetatsenia, but it was a close run which saw many reversals through the day. Meanwhile the athlete from Demoness clawed her way up the scoreboard, extending her lead over here nearest competitor from 77 points to a commanding 225 point lead. After the end of the competition the two top medalists could be seen congratulating each other on their placement on the podium.

The boxing ring had to be set up hastily as the sport had not been scheduled to happen that morning. The feeling amongst the athletes was one of anger, as most had expected to train or rest that morning. As the bell rang it was to women who would start this time. Facing each other, the blows between competitors were vicious and plentiful, the anger showing itself as the competitor from Arcaica removed her gloves and struck the competitor from Benuhal with bare knuckles after taking a couple of body shots earlier in the match. This caused the referee to rule at the competitor from Arcaicia would be disqualified from the competitor despite her commanding lead up until that point.

Arcaicia was not the only one to have been blinded by blood, as both competitors from Cetatsenia and Eigamst inflicted injuries Blogia and Cetatsenia respectively. The injuries inflicted upon the Cetatsenia were enough to cause her coach to be removed from the match. She is still in hospital being treated for multiple concussions and a cracked skull.

As the dust settled from these events there was some good news for the local crowd, as both their representatives were able to take the two top spots on the podium. The silver place athlete was Dr. Yuri Katsuragi, also known as Lady Yuri Katsuragi, heir to the Demonassian throne herself. Her inclusion in the sport was debated by political commentators across the country as favouritism but, as her punches laid out other competitors it became apparent she had won her place not because of her political affiliation, but on skill alone.

Injuries were not limited only to the women as thier male counterparts traded blows. Both the athletes from Blogia and Demoness managed to injure the competitors from Eigamst and Blogia respectively. These events caused both athletes to be removed on stretchers to avoid any further damage to their internal organs by bone fragments.

Posted Image

As both Arcaica and Demones had officially tied in wins the officials ruled that Arcaica would be given the silver position due to his lack of injury to any other competitor. Meanwhile the competitor from Benuhal was given the gold mere moments before falling unconscious after his match causing him to join both Blogia and Eigamst in hospital. Doctors say he will be able to recover in time for the medal ceremony.

Form one martial skill to another as the followers of "the way of the hand and foot" took their place on center stage. Most matches were over quickly as competitors flew across the ring trying to exploit their opponent's weaknesses in stance and guard. Although women were favoured in this sport due to their higher degree of flexibility ti seemed like the men easily out maneuvered them and took home most of the medals. The only exception would be the competitor from Cetatsentia who's kicks and punches were mere blurs to the viewing audience, allowing her to take home gold for her nation.

The Volleyball games proceeded as planned with the favourites crushing most of their lower level competition. Still the upset came as point after point was scored against the Arcaica team in their final game verses the All female team of Blogia. Commentators describe it as cannon shot after cannon shot as the team from Blogia recovered from their early setbacks in the start of the game. The final point was scored after a ball ricocheted off the Arcaica's team captain's face which left her not only defeated, but bloodied as well.

Day 4

Venue Three: Olympic Stadium
As the heat that persisted for the day before began to lift the board once more oked the outdoor competitions but advised those watching the Olympics to be weary of weather changes through the day. As the advisories blared the athletes, each looking as though they were chiseled from solid rock, emerged from the dressing rooms and made their way down to the stage.

This year was a slow one for the weight lifting sports, which had seen a lower attendance then any of the other Olympic competitions. Indeed many world renowned lifters had not even attempted to make their Olympic teams for these games, meaning that most of the competitors were unknown to the world stage. Still each athlete tried to show their best as the Men's 85kg lift began.

The competition was not bogged down but the failures of the earlier competitions. Indeed the organizers had been vigilant on checking and rechecking the weights this round, resulting in not a single injury during the duration. The competition saw the dueling efforts of the representatives from Demoness and Benuhal. As the fans in the audience filled with their cheers the Demonessian representative, Sean Samadhi, was able to push for those extra couple pounds and take the gold for the host nation.

The Women's 63 kg lift was next and like it's predecessor saw a close result between the gold and silver potions. Indeed it was the failure of Benuhal's Kiani U-ten-so to lift a higher weight that saw the Cetatsen take home the gold for her nation. Meanwhile the competitor from Eigamst broke into tears as she was unable to make her last lift. This caused her to be ushered off stage by a concerned coach and family members. Rumors circulate that the breakdown was caused the failure to fill out a promise made to her ailing younger brother back in Eigamst but these reports are yet unconfirmed.

The Men's over 105kg lift kicked off with a rather abrupt failure by the lifter from Benuhal who lost his balance midlift seemingly injuring his lower back. Although reports say he is recovering well in hospital doctors have recommended that he do any weightlifting for the next three months at minimum. Meanwhile the athlete from Cetatsenia awed judges and out performed his competition by strides. The competitor, one of the only well know lifters in attendance, remarked that it did not truly feel like a true win with so many of the upper level athletes not competing. Despite this he accepted the medal and commented that he would return next year to see if anyone can topple him from his world record position.

The women's over 75kg was dominated by the competitor from Demoness who seemed to feed on the spirit of her surrounding countrymen in the audience. Even though she out competed her competitors early in the lift she continued to push further away from the pack setting a world record in the process. Although well known in her home country the athlete, Jean Nedia, had never attended a world class competition until she was scouted for her Olympic team this year.

The gymnastics brought in the crowds in their droves almost crushing the already seated onlookers. Unlike the lifting competitions, the athletes in the gymnastics teams were top class many of them them comprising the upper echelons of the sport. The favourite was Kilo Batarnata, who had claimed gold in the Benuhal Spring Olympics earlier in the year. As his opponents tumbled and spun across the floor it was certain the that he would have to work hard to keep his place as the Olympic champion. When it came to his set he pulled off an excellent rings routine but as he hit his floor routine, there was some disagreement amongst the judges to its quality. The most displeased judge was actually from Kilo's own nation of Benuhal and gave him the lowest score of the judges. In the end he placed last but still held onto his world record holder status with a score of 28.725.

The wind was low and prefect for the archery competitions slated for the day and as the athletes suited up it was certain that it would be a highly competitive run for the marksmen. As arrows flew from in each archer in turn it was close with only a disparity of 26 points between the first and last positions after all 72 arrows were fired. As the arrows were collected it seems as though both Gold and silver medalists were able to hold onto their titles. It seemed a friendly rivalry was brewing between Yano Kleeve of Benuhal and Sen Kobayashi of Demoness.

Much like the women, the men's gold and silver medalists were able to hold onto their podium positions from the last Olympics. Although the gap between teacher and student seemed to be narrowing, as Marrik Tomas was only able to keep five points ahead of his student Johann Sens down from nine previously. Meanwhile the competitor from Arcaica was narrowly outshot by his counterpart from Demoness who was able to land 3 bullseyes during the course of the match. In anger the former broke is bow before stamping off into the locker rooms.

Venue Four: Main Street

Under the shade of the main street the blurs that where the competing cycles could be seen as the weaving through the trees. Clad in logos from various companies ranging from Eckie-Cola to Charl's Fishsticks, the men and their bikes pushed for position. The original pack slowly split into smaller groups with the competitor from Gran Draconis pushing out ahead. If it had not been a close encounter with a tree branch it might have gone that way, but as the Draconian got back onto his bike the athlete from Cetatsenia was able to capitalize sliding into first place.

As with the the other race the Cetatsens seemed to be in control with their cyclist finishing a whole 15 seconds against her nearest competitor from Demoness. That was not the story of the race however, as the racer from Blogia was not able to finish the race, not because of her abilities but because of equipment failure. As she had been taking a turn around one of the many trees that dotted the course when the frame of her bike snapped beneath her. Thankfully she was not seriously injured, slow motion shows that a jagged piece of metal missed her head by a mere 5 cm.

Venue Five: Olympic Natatorium

The story of the day however would have to be the photo finish required for the Men's 100m freestyle. All competitors were able to finish the swim in 47 seconds. if it had not been for the sensors that dot the pool's edge there would have been much debate on who had won the match. Instead we can sit in amazement in that in a blink of an eye, 400 milliseconds, the competitor from Blogia was able to wrestle the win from Gran Draconis while the Cetasenia was hot on his heels less then a quarter of a eye blink behind.

Perhaps not as breathtaking as the same second finish of the men's competition, the women were no slouches with all competitors finishing within a second of one another. Eigamst was able to pull the win from the crowd but being the favourite it was no surprise that she won the gold.

Day 5

Records

Venue Five: Olympic Natatorium
As the sun rose on the final day of events, organizers bustled around from site to site making sure that everything was properly prepped before the masses of onlookers arrived. Indeed today was one of the busiest on records and the movement of ticket holders alone was able to block many major transport arteries in the city. In accordance with these blockages the events were delayed by 40 minutes to allow the viewers to arrive. The Natatorium was so packed in fact that monitors had to erected outside for those ticket holder unable to make it in the doors in time.

With all these eyes on them the men prepped for that nautical sprint known as the Men's 100m backstroke. As the gun fired, all the athletes hit the water. Like with many of the other swimming events sensors were needed to record the minute differences in finishing times. It looked like the Cetasens were to take home the gold followed by Eigamst and Benuhal respectively. I wonder what it would be like to move through the water so fast? Probably like flying with less bugs in your teeth.

The women's 100m breaststroke followed soon on the mens' heels and the athletes took to the water like their were born to it. The race itself was a stiff one, and midway through the race the leader from Demoness seemed to spasm and slow her pace jst for a fraction of a second. This fraction was enough to put her a second behind her compedators when the finishing times were finalized. Still, the top 4 placings swimmers were all able to break the previous world record of 1:07.33.

6 Demoness 1:07.92

The men's breaststroke saw a close grouping of all swimmers involved. Even as the competitor from Blogia was able to pull ahead for a few minutes, he was quickly caught up to by his rivals. Despite this he was able to pull from within and take home his country's second gold in the water sports but not for lack of injury. It seems that during the race he accidentally punched himself in the face loosening a tooth enough for it to sink to the bottom of the pool. I guess a gold medal is worth a gappy smile in the end.

It took the organizers a few minutes to fish the Blogian canine from the pool's depths but when this herculean task was complete the female athletes of the women's 100 backstroke were raring to go. Kicking off without making hardly a wave the women paddled for dear life to be the first to touch the opposing wall and claim gold for their nation. Eigamst, the favourite of the water sports had performed lower then anticipated and this sport was no exception. Although their athlete did make the podium it was only a bronze they were taking home this time round. That honour would once again go to Cetatsenia who, although finishing with a time of 58.83, was unable to unseat the time of 58.75 set by Zosia Zdunowska of former Intermaris.

As camera flipped to the firing range, the athletes who where to participating the Men's 25 m rapid fire pistol were just taking their first of six shot's. As the loud bangs of the 22 calibers range through the range camera's panned in on the hole of local Lawrence Tir Koren whiich seemed no wider then a bullet an a half in the dead center of the target. As judges reviewed the footage of the shots the member of the imperial guard waited calmly for their decision. Raising an arm the head judge declared the Jade Watch member the winner declaring that the first shot had not missed the target as earlier thought but had indeed hit dead center of the target.

Still Koren protested saying he had hit that same exact spot two times. Instead he claimed the second 98 score posted by the judges was a bias to keep the foreigners from feeling to alienated. To this Jermey Valens of Gran Draconis personally challenged him to a rematch after the Olympics had concluded. Footage from that event can been seen on out live feed.

Trading pistols for rifles some athletes returned to their position holding the top of the line bolt action rifles. Even before the targets were fully adjusted to their 50m distance each athlete was tuning the scope to their own preferences. This was a sport of control and small measurements of wind and slight variation could mean failure for even the most trained marksmen. As shots rang out Valens from Gran Drconis was caught on tape grinning upon hearing that his firing had outdone the Demonessian from the pistol competition. As the passed beside one another a mouthed "you're on" could be seen on Koren's lips.

Now it was time for the skeet. Once again Valens and Koren were in direct competition with one another and they seemed to have enthralled the audience with this newly created rivalry. As the military men fired off at the flying clay targets, cheers could be heard coming from the crowd with each smashed piece of stoneware. As the points racked up it was going to be close but on his last shot Valen's missed causing Koren to walk away with gold.

The Women's 25m rapid fire saw another rivalry as the top two shooters Jenni Bena'ta of Benuhal and Cyria Pelast of Gran Draconis. Bena'ta a part time hunter was surprised she was able to best the well know military veteran form Gran Draconis. She also commented on her want to have the shooting sport no longer divided by gender as was, as she believed, less physicality to it that would separate the two genders. Feminists around Benuhal have echoed this cry and have petitioned the Olympic Committee to do just that.

Meanwhile we have been notified that in an earlier report we mistakenly reported that Ms. Yuri Katsuragi, who placed just below the podium in this event, was heir to the Demonessian throne. We apologize and amend that statement as Ms. Katsuragi is the heir to the presentment Katsuragi clan and not the royal family of the nation.

the rifle competition saw the women out for blood with targets being shot almost as quickly as they were put out. Once again the dueling military snipers from Grand Draconis and Demoness battled for position. In the end the Jade watch took home the gold, with Bena'ta from Benuhal was squeezing in between the two rivals to take silver while Gran Draconis' Cyria Pelast took bronze.

For those who, at this point were tired with the Demonessian/Draconian rivalry, the Women's skeet was a nice refresher. For once Cetatsenian representative was easily able to take down her competition even after the fistfight between the Draconian and Demonessian competitors.

1 Cetatsenia 70 23 93
2 Demoness 67 23 90

(Note: The Demonessian athlete is one of the Jade Watch as well. Her name is Setsuna Suzuki.)

Even before it was announced the audience fell silent, such was the respect for the coming competition. The sport of mounted archery had been the core of many famous Demonessian folklore asnd played a part in many historical battles. It was also a sport conducted in utter silence, so that all that could be heard were the hoof beats and panting of the horse and the exertions of the rider. Testing horsemanship, husbandry, concentration and speed this sport was one of true focus and most amongst the crowd that day respected that. Slowly the horses and riders emerged from the stalls each a true marksmen in their own right they looked like warrior prepping for battle today. some had even been allowed to tie ribbons for luck on their horses' saddles but they were in the minority.

Arranging themselves in order of drawn lots the riders seemed tense but fluid, like soldiers who had gone through the motions many times before. In turn they road around the course a total of six times, firing arrows at the timed targets before returning to their beginning point and receiving applause from the crowd. All things seemed to be going smoothly until the rider from Blogia tumbled from his horse being crushed under the massive animal. All motion after that moment stopped and as paramedics attended to the rider a collective breath was held. The paramedics were able to raise the wounded stallion from the rider but the rider remained motionless.

Speaking into an intercom the camera were able to capture the head paramedics shaking head as the athlete was carried away on a stretcher. He would spend the next 2 weeks in a medically induced coma to allow his body to recover from multiple fractures and breaks caused by the large animal that had fallen on top of him.

The athletes returned to their firing until the last Demonessian was to begin her run. As targets flew out from their hidden positions she was able to hit each squarely with an arrow and some she was even able to hit twice and as her and her dappled grey stallion finally returned to the starting position there was a hushed silence from the couwd. Then it started, a single clap, then all the Demonessians in the crow d jumped to their feet to congratulate Sakura Suzuki of the Jade Guard. To congratulate the woman able to, not only bring home the most important gold but, bring honour to her family, the Jade Guard and the nation.
