This is to keep track of Demonessian relations. The official stance is to remain neutral and isolationist, but it has been shown that the country understands the value of intervention. As a reminder, embassies are located within the Sacred Palace by default. Each embassy is given a suite for offices on the first floor and living arrangements on the upper floors. These rooms are considered the guest nation's national territory and are given locks and extra security. This arrangement of the embassies goes back to ancient times and has roots in the host-guest relationship of the Clans; it has been continued to allow easy contact between ambassadors and the Demonessian government, to protect embassies from possible protests, and to permit access to other conveniences. To establish an embassy, fill out the form below: Nation Name: Self-explanatory Ambassador: Name of your ambassador Embassy Established: If it's not the "present" time, please give a historical date Agreements: Agreements we've already established or ones that you would like Relationship Level: I will establish it, but it's based on this scale: Excellent: Actively in an alliance or similar agreement Good: Mutual understanding has been reached and may offer military support Fair: Many treaties may be in effect and may offer non-military support Friendly: Assistance is given when requested, but it is limited; inclined to assist without prior request Neutral: Either relations have not progressed past initial contact or positive and negative factors cancel each other out. Unfriendly: Any interaction is regarded with skepticism and possibly disregarded Poor: Passively antagonistic; may support enemies against target Aggressive: Actively antagonist and will include sabre rattling Hostile: Actively engaged in a hot or cold war Embassies: Nation name: Amarek Ambassador: Sir Johnathan Whitwell (With wife Adelaide and daughter Ekaterina) Demonessian Ambassador: Shidura Eamon (husband: Aeldaran) Embassy established: 1932 Agreements: Free trade, free passage through territorial waters, and mutual defense pact Relationship Level: Good Nation name: Benuhal Ambassador: Chi Mbele Demonessian Ambassador: Toji Asuki Embassy established: 2010 Agreements: Weak trade agreements, non-aggression pact, passage through Dani Sea with air support Relationship Level: Friendly Nation name: Cetatsenia Ambassador: Mihai Funar Demonessian Ambassador: Emerald Yumeneko Embassy established: 1692 (first embassy); 1948 (Ioan II re-establishes embassy) Agreements: Non-aggression pact, Preferred Trading Partner status (lowered tariffs) Relationship Level: Fair Nation name: Fenwick Ambassador: Semyon Ignatievich Demonessian Ambassador: Lady Yukiko Katsuragi Embassy established: 1192 Agreements: Accord of Orendh Relationship Level: Excellent Nation Name: Intermaris Ambassador: Jan Ekert Demonessian Ambassador: Karissa Lidel (family: husband Colin and three children) Embassy Established: Proto-embassy in the middle ages. Permanent Embassy established 1688. Embassy re-established after the Second Global War (1948). Agreements: Free Trade Agreement, a Military Co-Operation Agreement, and a military base in Intermaris. Military Co-Operation Agreement Relationship Level: Good Nation Name: The Empire of Pelhafor Ambassador: Mewarara Mansuro (surname: Mewarara) Demonessian Ambassador: Sousuke Heili (family: wife Leilana and children) Embassy Established: 1784 Agreements: Trade treaties, including Treaty of Friendship and Commerce from the 18th century Relationship Level: Friendly (Embassy is not on Palace Grounds) Edited by Demoness, Aug 20 2014, 12:28 AM.

I'm going to place our level at "Unfriendly", but that may changed based on what we discuss of our history (when we get around to it). Unless you think they're bad enough to warrant "Poor". Your ambassador is Yoshio Masaki. |

Hey, Ceta, since we've been talking about trade and such, do you want to modify our agreements? I don't think Demoness would be too keen on too many free trade agreements (since it has one with Fenwick, Amarek, and Intermaris), but I don't see a problem with reduced tariffs as a favored trading partner or the like. Maybe it can get upgraded to FTA if Gavrila manages to get Ned to realize she's interested.

Cool. I upgraded our status to "Good" as well since I figure we'd probably be adding more agreements later. Intermaris- I simply added that I had a base in your country. I hope you don't mind. |

Nation Name: The Empire of Pelhafor Ambassador: Mewarara Mansuro (surname: Mewarara) Embassy Established: ~1784, around the same time as the first Demonessian embassy Agreements: can't think of anything at the moment; perhaps trade treaties Relationship Level: Neutral~Friendly Embassy Requests: The Empire of Pelhafor desires an embassy outside of the Sacred Palace in a separate building, as Pelhafor is willing to grant a separate building to the Demonessian ambassador. Other details, especially in regard to the Pelhaforan security, will mirror the details of the Demonessian embassy. The embassy must be fenced and concrete. Demonessian security will be allowed to patrol outside the embassy grounds. As mentioned in the other thread, Pelhafor asks for diplomatic immunity for its diplomatic staff; the same will be rendered to the Demonessian embassy. |

If all we have are trade treaties, it's unlikely we'll be anything but Neutral. I have non-aggression pacts with other countries and perhaps we have something a little bit stronger to lace us together.
If the Pelhaforan government wishes to have a building completely to itself, it would have to unfortunately be on the outskirts of town due to the layout of the city. Demoness is willing to allow this while cautioning that it is likely to cause inconvenience to the embassy staff, especially while traveling to the Sacred Palace. The Pelhaforan government will be allowed to own a personal vehicle for transportation purposes, but any driver must pass Demonessian driving tests. Additional security will be provided to the embassy since it is not within the Palace grounds. |

A rudimentary "treaty of friendship and commerce" is on my mind, done back in the 18th century when mostly free trade wasn't the norm and thus had to be written down. In addition, the Empire under the Raiya dynasty would have supported Demoness against the Contraho and the People's Alliance in the 20th century. This can be balanced with religious conflicts resulting from discrimination of polytheists and monotheists in Pelhafor and Demoness respectively, which result in officially-sanctioned investigations and trouble-suppressing measures and the unspoken agreement that both countries will avoid offending religious minorities in their countries to avoid complications. Other than that, the late 20th century will see trade with Demoness.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Empire of Pelhafor hopes to guarantee its diplomats' respect for local laws and notes that individual members of the diplomatic staff will obtain their own licenses and personal vehicles apart from the official embassy vehicle according to the proper procedures. |

I can edit in the treaty of friendship and commerce. If I'm reading your suggestion correctly, our countries were closer when the embassies were established and through the GWs, but they ended up cooling after the wars?
Done. |
