If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people.

Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river.

Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets.

While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then.

The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city.

At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down.

"Well it is really not anyzing specific really," Vasile said, "It is located directly souz of ze Palatul Regal overtop a underground river zat flows directly souz wiz ze only true entrance facing directly souz; zere are rooms wiz no actual entrance, once of which appears to be some sort of meeting room; ze chapel is upside-down; and just some ozer strange zings."

"Have you been in those rooms?" Jia Li asked curiously. "Could we go inside them?"

"We can if you want, and ze Voivode says so," Vasile said, "Some of zem may not have an actual entrance, but some of zem have windows you can go in. Zey are just not part of ze usual tour."

"I do not have a problem wiz it, so long as zey are safe," Gavril said.

"Oh, zey are perfectly safe. At least ze ones we would be able to get into," Vasile said.

Jia Li grinned, but her husband replied, "I'm not really sure it's a good idea."

"It's safe, or we wouldn't be allowed to go."

"If we have to climb, it might not be safe with your dress."

She shook her head. "I'll be fine," she insisted. "How long did Carol live here?" she asked Vasile.

"Not all of zem would require climbing, and I assure you zat it is completely safe. Any unsafe areas are marked off like zat tower," Vasile said, gesturing to the barred entrance before he answered Jia Li's question, "He lived here sporadically for nearly two decades. I believe ze longest time he spent here was a solid six monzes, where ze only one who saw him was his wife on her visits."

Xel frowned; Vasile was not helping. He had doubted the other areas were unsafe when he spoke, but he disliked deviating from the main tour route. Jia Li liked to explore and she also tended to get into trouble, though it was generally minor. He was probably being overprotective at this point.

"Was he alone?" Jia Li asked.

Vasile nodded his head, though he noticed Xel's frown and it was obvious he was worried that he'd done something wrong. "Uh, yes he was, actually," the tour guide said, "He did not allow anyone inside ze Castel de Nebunie wiz ze exception of several groups of servants he had to come in and clean."

"You know, Carol's insistence on not having people inside his castle is razer strange," Gavril said, "If I recall correctly, he was not usually paranoid."

Vasile nodded his head, "You are correct, Voivode. Ze castle was ze only zing he seemed to be overly paranoid about."

At this point Andreea was standing patiently, listening intently to the conversation. She wasn't entirely certain about heading off the main tour path, and was a bit irritated that her brother had gone along with it so easily. But she trusted Vasile, since they didn't allow just anyone to become a tour guide at the Castel de Nebunie; they had to memorize the tour route, have at least a rough knowledge of the rest of the building, and they still carried around a map and radio just in case. So if Vasile said it was safe, she trusted the man.

Gavrila on the other hand wasn't really paying attention. Instead she had begun staring through one of the windows in the ceiling, trying to make out what the room above was. She wasn't having much luck since all she saw was a ceiling, and it was fairly obvious that she was getting restless.

"Maybe we should start on the tour," Xel suggested.

Jia Li nodded, but she had another question. "Maybe he was doing something in here," she suggested.

"Zat is possible, but we have no idea what," Vasile said, "And I suppose your husband is right, we should probably get on with the tour."

At that Gavrila perked up and her head swiveled towards the tour guide with a grin, "Iadul da!"

So Vasile began the tour in earnest, making his way through the first of the coloured doors. He lead them through a series of rooms, and up and down several series of stairs, which all appeared to have something bizarre or strange about them. Some seemed to be tilted; there were windows, doors, and staircases to nowhere; furniture that was simply carved wood or stone that served no actual purpose; and other things. It was interesting, to ay the least, and the Cetatsens seemed to be enjoying themselves. Gavrila seemed overly happy when she realized they were in the same room she had been staring at while the rest of the group was conversing down in the hallway. In fact, Vasile had to warn her not to get too close to the window, as a window probably wouldn't support her weight.

Eventually they came a room that was completely bare with the exception of what appeared to be some padded chairs and bookcases stuffed with books; it didn't even appear to have an exit aside from the door they had come in.

"All right, break time," Vasile said, sitting down on the ground. Then he pointed to three chairs, "Zose are ze only one zat are real, ze rest are just covered frames wiz no seat."

Gavril sat down on the floor as well, looking up at Gavrila's servant, "Aurel, you take one of zem."

Aurel looked to Gavrila who just laughed, "Hell Aurel, just do it. You do not need my permission for everyzing."

"I was simply going to ask if you wished to have the seat yourself, doamna," he said, slowly lowering himself down onto one of the real chairs while Gavrila plopped down on the wooden floor beside him. Andreea sat down as well, though Lieutenant Dalca stayed standing next to the Voivode.

Jia Li certainly enjoyed herself on the tour, practically playing like a child in some of the rooms as she gave way to her curiosity, and if she was a child then Xel played the earnest and apprehensive father. It wasn't his fault though; Jia Li had survived several assassination attempts, along with a worrisome illness, and Xel had been alongside her all those times. While her coping strategy was to remain carefree, his coping mechanism had been to try to control all aspects of a situation, even if it wasn't possible. When he was in a situation he couldn't control, the need worsened. Makoto, on the other hand, could not remain serious and seemed to enjoy playing with Jia Li in the other rooms.

Jia Li grinned as she sat on the floor and her husband knelt beside her. "This certainly is a fascinating building," she said enthusiastically. "If I had the proper training, I think I'd enjoy studying it further. It had to take some true architectural talent to create some of these rooms." She turned to Vasile. "I'm sorry. You may have mentioned it earlier and I missed it. I understand the original plans were destroyed, but has anyone made accurate plans since then? Or are they incomplete?"
