If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people. Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river. Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets. While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then. The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city. At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down. "I believe ze originally was solid gold, except for ze supports," Vasile said, "And it has not actually been standing ze entire time. When ze building was first being surveyed and fixed up to allow visitors, ze chandelier was found collapsed. Which is why portions are reproductions; zose were ze parts zat were found broken." |

"Well, it was built in ze 1870s, and it was pretty much abandoned after Carol died," Vasile said, "It was during ze Interim period between ze Great Wars zat it was rebuilt; so it was not quite a century ago." "Why ze hell was I zinking it was older zan zat?" Gavrila said, almost to herself, "I was zinking it was at least 2 centuries old. At least." Vasile just shrugged at Gavrila's comment before turning to Jia Li, "Pictures were actually taken during ze original survey while it was still abandoned. Zere is a room in ze visitor's center zat showcases a sort of before-and-after of ze Castle de Nebunie; it has pictures of while it was abandoned next to pictures taken in ze exact same place once it was restored. We can visit zere after we finish wiz ze tour of ze castle, if you want." |

Jia Li nodded. "I'd like that," she said. "Tell me though, who made the decision to have it restored? If it was in such a poor state, why wasn't it condemned or left abandoned? It seems like a restoration project like that would have been very expensive." |

"Ze politicians zought it best to have some, well, historic sites in ze country. Increase tourism and stuff like zat to help wiz ze economy. And it was quite expensive, which was why none of ze Bani of zis area had ever seen fit to restore it before," Vasile replied, " But when ze monarchy's powers were reinstated ze Ban decided it was worz it to keep it up. After all, it did bring it quite a bit of money and it had already been restored, so zere was no reason to just let it fall into ruin." |

Jia Li nodded. "Of course, and it's proven to be a wise investment, ne? After all, upkeep must be relatively inexpensive in comparison to the original investment." |

Vasile nodded, "Definitely. Zose politicians at least did some zings right before being taken out of power." Meanwhile Gavrila had began to pose with the chandelier, with Aurel taking a few pictures with a camera he had brought in with him. She wasn't doing anything too unbecoming of someone of her station at least, and Gavril and Andreea smiled as they watched her. Aurel, however, was also paying attention to his surroundings and when he heard Vasile's comment he couldn't help but mutter, "Trădători." None of the Cetatsens seemed to notice his comment, or just didn't feel the need to comment on it. "You asked about pictures earlier, right?" Gavril asked, turning to Jia Li, "Did you want to have some taken?" |

Jia Li smiled. "I would, but I didn't bring a camera and, surprisingly, I don't own a cell phone," she replied with a chuckle. "But I wouldn't mind posing with you. You could always send me the photos later." Her smile widened as she eagerly joined Gavrila by the chandelier. She was conservative in her posing, suppressing her impulses, between practical concerns about her dress snagging and recognizing that she had an upright image to maintain to reduce ammunition for her critics. Regardless, she was still playful and eventually persuaded her husband to join her; he posed stoically, which was unsurprising. |

It wasn't long before Gavril and Andreea joined them as well, being conservative in their posing like Jia Li. Andreea because she really wasn't the type for doing otherwise, and Gavril because he also had an image to preserve as Cetatsenia's Head of State. Plus, this was supposed to be a diplomatic meeting, not just a meeting to goof off. Public opinion of the Voivode may be high, but that did not mean that Gavril didn't have any detractors. Lieutenant Dalca and Vasile stood off to the side while Aurel took the photographs. They occasionally conversed, but Dalca spent most of the time watching the building carefully. He knew there was in all likelihood no danger in the building, but it was his job to make sure. Eventually Aurel stopped taking pictures, pocketing the camera as he spoke. "I zink zat is enough for now," he said slowly, "And I believe our tour guide may want to continue on wiz ze tour." "Oh, you can take as long as you want," Vasile replied, not wanting to push royalty along if they wanted to stay. "Regardless, I zink we have stayed in zis room for long enough," Gavril said, "and we still have ze lower levels to go, correct?" Vasile nodded, "Yes, yes we do." "All right, sounds great to me," Gavrila said with a grin, "Let us go." "Was zere anyzing else you wanted to take a look at her before we continued on?" Gavril asked, turning to Jia Li and Xel. |

Jia Li shook her head. "No, I think we've seen enough. I looked around the room for a long time before we started posing and even while we were posing," she replied with a smile. She turned to her husband. "Unless you want to?" He shook his head. |
