If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people. Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river. Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets. While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then. The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city. At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down. "Because it sat zere completely unmaintained for so many years, and you saw what some of ze ozer rooms were like. Zey were practically decrepit," Andreea said, "Zen you have ozer rooms zat looked exactly ze same except for a layer of dust." |

"They were probably in a more protected area of the castle," Jia Li rationalized. "Or they were completely closed off from the elements." |

"I am certain zere are reasons, but it does not make it any less interesting," Andreea reasoned, "After all, zere were sections zat looked ready to fall down." |

"Either way, I'm glad that the castle was restored. It was certainly an interesting tour, even if it did raise a lot of questions about why it was built the way it was built." Jia Li smiled. |

Andreea nodded her head in agreement, and a small smile crept across her face. "I find it difficult to argue wiz you zere," she said, "It definitely is an interesting tour. One of ze more interesting places in Cetatsenia, even if it is not widely known outside ze country." "You can say zat again," Gavrila replied, grinning as she butted into the conversation, "I have not enjoyed myself like zat in a while. Anyway, are we done yet?" Gavril sighed and shook his head for a moment before looking to the Empress, "If you are all done here, we could start heading back to Albraustana-zid." |

Jia Li laughed. "We could move on. I was thinking about walking around the edge of the forest, just to see how it compares to back home, but that could always wait," she replied. "It's just a curiosity since I used to ride and walk in my forest." |

"I do not see any harm in zat," Gavril said, "My cousin can deal wiz it." "Dracu 'că," Gavrila said, waving to everyone as she walked out of the room with Aurel in tow, "I will be in ze car." "Gavrila!" Andreea said, irritated at her cousin and finding that rude. Gavril shook his head and sighed as well, but looked over at his sister, "Let her go, you know as well as I do zat she is going to do what she wants." Then Gavril looked back to Jia Li, "Do not worry about my cousin, just follow me. We can take ze back exit." Gavril lead the group out of the room, and to a smaller exit to the visitor's center. This one exited out the back, and since the visitor's center was located rather close to the forest they exited right to the edge of the woods. The woods weren't really anything special, at least to the Cetatsens. The trees were mostly pines, though there were plenty of deciduous trees interspersed throughout. There was also plenty of plantlife on the ground, though the underbrush wasn't particularly thick along the edge of the forests. |

Jia Li ignored the spat between cousins, which was the normal procedure for difficulties between family members, and simply nodded when Gavril spoke to her. "I apologize for the disturbance I've caused," she apologized the Gavril. She didn't really expect to find anything novel in the forest, but it certainly was different from the semitropical plants she had back home. The trees also grew closer together, which was to be expected from their type, and the underbrush was different. In the forest back home, the path was worn naturally between her ancestors and other visitors who would occasionally take the trail. No, it wasn't. She still had to remind herself that the forest had burnt down, so all that was left was the skeletal remains of an ancient holy place. The smaller animals had begun to return, but she doubted the larger ones, rarely seen would return for years to come. She didn't venture out for long walks anymore, a habit she missed, and for a brief moment, standing at the edge of these woods filled her with nostalgia. When she started walking inward, her husband said, "I don't think that's a good idea." She shook her head. "It's only a few steps," she replied, listening to dried leaves crackle beneath her feet. It was a different sound than from back home, much louder than she expected, but she still barely heard Makoto's steps behind her. She walked behind a tree, closed her eyes, and listened to the birds as she felt the wind stir up. After a moment of that, she was ready to return. "Thank you," she said to Gavril. |

"It is no problem, I enjoy ze woods as well," Gavril replied with a smile, as the group began walking back to the car, "Zey are quite beautiful, especially in ze Autumn. Zough I have to say, I much prefer ze forests in ze Highlands, zey are much thicker. Right Lieutenant Dalca?" Dalca honestly seemed a bit surprised that the Voivode had asked him a question, and even more so that he had remembered that the Lieutenant had grown up in the Nordic Highlands. However, he quickly brushed those feelings aside and nodded, "Adevărat; in some places you cannot even see ze sun." |

Jia Li nodded. "It sounds interesting. I have never been into the deep woods. There was always concern that there might be an emergency and we wouldn't be able to get help quickly enough," she replied. She turned to Dalca and asked, "So what does the light look like there?" |
