If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people.

Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river.

Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets.

While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then.

The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city.

At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down.

Gavril noticed Jia Li's reaction to his mention of foxes, and silently hoped he hadn't offended her. He knew that some religions viewed certain animals as sacred, and hoped that foxes weren't sacred in Morante. But since she didn't mention it, he didn't think it was that big of a deal. Though he decided against mentioning it again.

"Zat sounds like a great idea, as long as your guards do not mind it," he said, "And as for boars, some people do still use spears but guns are becoming more popular. Probably since it is safer that way."

"Zey are still not entirely safe," Andreea said, sighing, "Sometimes I wish you would stick wiz deer."

"A stag can gore you just as easily as a boar, you know," Gavril replied, "And besides, I have yet to get hurt zat badly."

Makoto smiled at the idea of hunting. Like many of the guards, he had limited time for recreational activities, but he had learned procedures during several different activities. Hunting, strangely, was one of the few times a guard could relax as the abundance of chitaels in the area was seen as an additional protection. However, considering Jia Li's love of riding and her relative inexperience with most weaponry, he imagined Xel would have a heart attack from worry. And he would be justified in worrying as Jia Li's grandmother had died from a fall while riding; it had been under suspicious circumstances, but the incident had been officially declared an accident.

Makoto wasn't exactly wrong about Xel: he was uneasy with the prospect of danger surrounding hunting, but she had always enjoyed riding and he couldn't begrudge that; he said nothing. Jia Li smiled. "Then you might be a good teacher," she said with a smile.

"Ha, I suppose you may have a point zere," Gavril said, smiling, "Zough I have never actually taught anyone before."

"Just because you can do something does not mean you can necessarily teach it," Andreea said with a smile.

Gavril was going to answer, but the group had arrived at the car. Gavril and Andreea were honestly a bit irritated at their cousin, but they did their best not to show it. It was polite to let guests go first, and she was sitting in the car. Aurel, however, was standing next to the car with the door open. Gavril let the Demonessians enter the car first, with the Cetatsens following after.

"So, how was looking at ze trees?" Gavrila asked Jia Li with a grin, "I do not find zem zat interesting; zere are trees all over Sudest."

Jia Li smiled. "I liked comparing them to the ones I have back home. Yours are obviously evolved for cold weather and the forest floor is covered by different debris. The trees back home don't really go through seasons either, but they have changes in growth cycles where they 'rest'. I was kinda hoping to get a glance at more of your wildlife, but I imagine I'd have to go deeper than I did," she replied. "Your cousin was also telling me about hunting."

Gavrila just shrugged, "I suppose different forests might be interesting, but I see trees like zis all ze damn time. And yeah, you are not likely to see many animals zis close to ze edge. And hunting? Really? Huh, you do not seem like ze type for it."

"And what exactly does someone who is ze type for hunting look like?" Gavril asked jokingly.

Gavrila just shrugged, "I do not know. Just not like her."

Jia Li laughed. "It was a long tradition in my family. My grandmother was a proud hunter, but it suited her personality. She was a great military commander," she replied. "I never got the chance to hunt with her, unfortunately. She died before I was born and there was no one around to teach me." She shrugged. "But Gavrila is right: I tend to spend more time inside than outside."

"I zink my fazer hunted, but I am not entirely sure," Gavrila replied, shrugging, "Uncle Mircea used to hunt when he actually took a break from work, right?"

Gavril nodded, "He did, sometimes I got to tag along too. I zink it was what got me interested in hunting in ze first place."

"Anyway, if you spend most of your time inside, zen I zink you would probably scare off any animals before you got ze chance to hunt," Gavrila said to Jia Li, grinning.

"Oh it is not zat hard to keep quiet," Gavril replied, rolling his eyes.

Jia Li smiled. "I've never paid attention to how loud I am," she admitted. "I never had to."

"Well it is really not too hard, especially if you are doing ze type of hunting zat just involves sitting still and waiting for ze game to come by," Gavril said.

"But zat is ze boring kind of hunting," Gavrila replied, "Why not take her out on a bear hunt? Zat should be exciting."

"Uh, zat is probably not a good idea," Gavril said, unsure as to whether or not his cousin was joking or not, "And I zink her guards would agree."

Makoto shook his head. "As amusing as that might be, that is certainly above her difficulty level," he said. "It would be better to start out with a stag or something that didn't have claws."

"I'm sure with the chitaels it would be fine," Jia Li said.

"You've never even shot a rifle," Xel said.

"I knew well enough how to use your katana from watching you," she retorted and there was a sense of missed context, though she was smiling as she said it. However, her response appeared to have troubled him, for his face darkened slightly. Makoto knew more about the exchange and intervened. "It would still be better to start at a lower skill level," he said amicably. "Besides, I think chasing a hart is more fast-paced, like with your riding. You have to track down the bear."
