If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people.

Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river.

Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets.

While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then.

The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city.

At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down.

"Now zat sounds like it might be cool as hell," Gavrila said before her cousin had a chance to reply, "I would kill to see somezing like zat, since zere are not any big cats here. Hell, even if zere was zere would probably be a good chance of zem trying to maul you."

Gavril watched his cousin for a few moments after she had finished talking and was grinning, as though making sure she was completely through. "Well anyway, I would have to agree wiz my cousin," he said, then seemed to notice his watch. The time for their lunch had come and gone and he felt that the servants would like the chance to have their meal. Those who chose to eat in the Great Hall that is; not all did so and preferred to eat out or go home for the meal.

"Anyway, I zink it is about time zat we headed back out, right?" he said, smiling, then turned to Lieutenant Dalca, "Locotenent, ești eliberat. Du-te să mâncăm ceva."

"Da, voievodul mea," the Lieutenant replied, saluting and making his way out of the Great Hall.

Jia Li wiped her mouth. "Yes, I think it's a good time," she replied. She glanced backward to see that Makoto was still standing there and briefly wondered if he'd eaten. She hadn't seen him leave once, but she had also been absorbed in the conversation and she would feel terrible if he hadn't eaten. However, he stood as stiffly as a statue and she knew the rules of the High Guard in foreign countries, so she didn't bring attention to it.

Then she smiled. "The museum, ne?"

Gavril nodded his head in the affirmative. "Yes, and it is just a short drive to ze ozer side of ze city," he replied, as several guard made their way into the Great Hall and stood as discreetly as they were able to behind him. "And you do not need to worry about me only having one guard zis time," he added with a grin, joking about the conversation earlier in the morning, "Unlike ze Castel de Nebunie, it is easy to have a larger security detail."

Meanwhile Gavrila was staring, head cocked, at Makoto. Then she looked at Jia Li and gestured to the High Guard, "Is he going wiz us? Did he even get a chance to eat?"

Makoto nodded. "Don't worry about it, milady. I slipped out while you were talking and ate something," he replied and Jia Li looked visibly relieved. He continued, "The High Guard tradition dictates that as the Solar High Guard, I will stay with her for daylight hours, so I will be accompanying you to the museum." He turned toward Gavril. "But a larger security detail is helpful since Her Divinity brought a minimum."

"You could have sat down and eaten you know," Gavrila replied, "Hell, Aurel is my bodyguard and he does it."

"Probabil o diferență în cultură," Gavril said to his cousin, who simply shrugged and stood. Then Gavril and the rest of the Cetatsens followed suite and stood up from their seats; Marina and a few other servants were already making their way over to the table to clean it up.

As the group made their way out of the Great Hall, Gavril looked over to Jia Li and Makoto, "I am curious zough, how come you only have ze one High Guard present? I mean, Cetatsenia is safe but it is razer strange."

Jia Li looked to both her husband and Makoto; she was unaccustomed to answering questions about security because she trained not to and often did not. Generally, Ariana would answer politely without offense and still not quite answering.

"We came with the minimum, actually, but I have requested that only the High Guard be present during our visits," she replied. "It's an act of trust that my safety is ensured to your guards rather than mine." In truth, the handful of handmaid attendants should have accompanied her as well, but they had been instructed to keep Ariana occupied. Regardless, it would have been all of their preferences to keep at least one other guard with her at all times.

Gavril nodded in understanding. "Zat is a perfectly good reason; I was just curious because not everyone is so willing to put ze security of ze Head of State into ze hands of anozer government," he said as they passed through the door to the palace's massive foyer.

"Plus your people consider you a Goddess," Gavrila said, "So you are a tad more important to your people zan Gavril here is to ze Cetatsens."

"Then you understand the weight of this," Xel replied dryly.

Jia Li gave him a sharp look. "That is true. My security complement is usually four people at a minimum, even among my own people. My safety is taken quite seriously, not only due to more recent events, but also because of historical incidents and the religious ramifications," she replied. However, Cetatsenia was actually considered lower risk than her home country simply due to Apostate activity.

"Well I do not zink you have anyzing to worry about here," Gavril said, "If anyone would be attacked, it would be me. Zere are not any Cetatsens wiz anyzing against Demoness or her people."

"And hell, ze chances of anyone wanting to attack you are already slim," Gavrila replied, "You are pretty popular. Even ze people who do not agree wiz some of your policies zink you are a pretty good leader."

Jia Li smiled. "That is good to know, but I doubt it assuages the fears of my security. I wouldn't take offense to it though. We have strict security measures even when visiting Fenwick."
