If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people. Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river. Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets. While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then. The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city. At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down. "Um, well, I am not really sure," Gavril said, "Just whether or not he is a good man I suppose." This last sentence was slightly mumbled, though not not so much that the Demonessians couldn't understand what he was saying. At this Gavrila's grin widened. "Awww, are you worried about me?" Gavrila teased, "You do not need to worry about me, I am a big girl. And we are ze same age anyway, so you do not get to try and pull ze whole 'big brozer' routine." "Oh, it is not just zat," Gavril replied, a bit embarrassed, "He is ze heir to Fenwick, and I need to start branching out and building relations wiz ozer nations aside from zose right next door. And I would just like to know what ze man is like." |

Jia Li laughed. "He is a good man," she assured Gavril and Xel had to agree with the assessment. Even if Ned had been reluctant to tell Xel he was dating his sister (and there was some leftover resentment from Ned being Jia Li's first crush), he begrudgingly respected how Ned had handled Alexis. The relationship between Ned and Alexis had not been as discreet as either would have liked and when their respective countries' medias discovered the relationship, Alexis began to feel pressured to marry him. She also drew unwelcome comparison to her older brother because Ned was also a royal. Since Alexis was unwilling to live her life on anyone's terms but her own, she eventually ended the relationship and buried herself in the Jade Watch. Ned was nothing but supportive throughout their relationship and as far as Xel knew, they'd separated on good terms. |

Gavril chuckled, "Well zat is good to know." To say that he was protective of his cousin wouldn't really be true, it was just more that he cared about her. He hadn't liked her previous husband, nobody in the family did, but he never said anything because Gavrila had made the decision to marry him. He didn't want her to go through a marriage like that again, not that he thought Ned could be anywhere near as bad as Gavrila's ex. "Well it does not really matter if he is currently dating someone and it works out, now does it?" Gavrila said, "And some people may zink I am a bitch, but I am not ze kind of a bitch who wishes for someone's relationship to fail just so I can have a shot at ze man." |

"Considering his track record, you might not have to wait long," Xel said dryly. Jia Li hit him before adding, "None of his relationships have lasted more than two or three years and he's been seeing this one for quite some time. He's been quite tight-lipped about her too. Maybe because he doesn't want to jinx himself." He shook his head. "Being quiet didn't work out well for him either." |

At this Gavrila frowned, "Why exactly have they not lasted very long?" That worried her a bit, since if someone had a lot of relationships that didn't last very long then it made sense to assume that it was their fault and not the numerous partners. |

"Yuri didn't last because of college, I think, and that was really her fault," Jia Li said, listing the women off on her fingers. "Alexis broke it off because she didn't want to- Actually, that's a bit private, but it was a mutual decision. And he won't really speak about the last one, but I know it upset him." She frowned. "He also has a habit of choosing workaholic women, so that might have something to do with it." |

"Well zat is good, workaholic is not a word I would use to describe myself," Gavrila said, smiling once again, "Not zat I am lazy or anyzing, I just do not obsess over my work." "If he chooses workaholics so much zen I zink Gavrila might be a nice change of pace," Gavril joked. "And I am not going to lie, I do look forward to meeting him should his current relationship fail. Not zat I want zat to happen," Gavrila said, "But he seems like a nice guy, and it has been forever since I have gotten lai-" "Gavrila, Not in public!" Andreea said, cutting her cousin off. Both her and Gavril stared at their cousin, a little shocked. Gavrila just shrugged, not really caring at what her cousins thought of what she'd just said. |

That did seem to embarrass the Demonessians, or at least Jia Li, who flushed. "Well, I'm sure we can arrange a meeting between your countries for the sake of expanding your relationships," she stammered. |

Gavrila gave Jia Li a sly grin, "Oh come on, are you embarrassed about talking about sex too? You are just like my cousins." Some foreigners found Cetatsen views of the acceptability of nudity and sex to be strange and at odds with each other. While Cetasens were completely fine with nudity in public and had no issues with members of the same sex bathing together, actual sex was not something that was discussed in public and with anyone besides close friends. Gavrila, quite obviously, did not care for these views. "Gavrila, stop teasing ze Empress," Gavril said, then turned to Jia Li, "I would very much like zat. I am very much interested in expanding Cetatsen relations wiz Fenwick." |

Despite Jia Li's revolutionary views on Blood Morante and the differences it would make in the religion, she had still been born and raised in the era where sex was practically demonized; even with her liberal views on sex, some habits were hard to break. "I can always pass along the message to Emperor Davion," she replied. |
