If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people.

Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river.

Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets.

While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then.

The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city.

At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down.

"I would hate to have to send a baby sitter for my cousin," Gavril said, "After all, she is a grown woman and ze same age as me."

"I zink perhaps Aurel would be able to serve in zat function," Andreea said.

Gavril thought about it for a moment, rubbing his chin whilst he did so, then shrugged. "I suppose he could."

------

At Jia Li's line of questioning Gavrila just shrugged. "Hell if I know," she replied, "I am not exactly a big fan of ze stuff, as you can see." Her last phrase was punctuated with her shaking the bottle of vodka in her hand and taking another drink of the stuff. "La naiba, că este lucruri bune," she said to herself under her breath.

Xel shook his head. "Unless Jia Li is serious about setting her up on a date with Davion, I doubt it's something you'll have to worry about." He paused. "Unless you'd want to send her as a representative for the final signing of our agreements."

---

Jia Li smirked. "The only time I tried vodka, it tasted like nail polish remover smells," she said. "How do you drink it?"

Xel may have been joking but Gavril still stared as he rapidly shook his head. "No, no, no," he said, "I realize zat was probably just a joke, but still no. I would never do zat; I love my cousin to deaz, but I do not zink I could trust her wiz zat."

"And Gavrila could always decide to take a short vacation in Demoness; she is not too fond of ze cold," Andreea said, "But I am curious, do you honestly zink Jia Li was serious about trying to set up a date between Gavrila and Davion?"

------

"Hey, maybe I like ze way nail polish smells," Gavrila joked, "But to be honest, I do not know why I like it; I just do. Always have. Well, I may have been on ze fence ze first time I tried it, but zat is not important because we all know which side of ze fence I landed on."

"I didn't mean it as a joke, because it is a possibility, however unlikely," Xel said. "But you have a point." He turned to Andreea. "I'm not really sure. Davion is a fine man, really, but Jia Li only sees the best in everyone and he has had issues with his exes, including my sister. She may mean it, because he is a dear friend, or she may forget about it." He shrugged.

---

Jia Li giggled. "Which is why I like wine: it is much sweeter."

"What exactly do you mean by 'issues wiz his exes'?" Gavril asked. Normally he wouldn't consider it any of his business, but if Jia Li was potentially serious about trying to get them together then he wanted to know. After all, she was like a sister to him. She didn't say anything, but Andreea looked to Xel expectantly, obvious wanting to know the answer to the question as well.

------

"Ha, cannot argue wiz you zere," Gavrila said, chuckling, "But I would still take vodka over wine any day."

"If I may make a suggestion," Aurel interjected rather politely, "But perhaps we should move somewhere else; after all, standing around in ze wine cellar is hardly comfortable."

Gavrila brought her palm to her forehead and laughed, "Oh wow. Yeah, we probably should go somewhere else." Then her smile faded, "Pizdă mea, I have no idea where to go. Normally we would take zis to ze private bazes, but I do not know if you want to do zat."

"Ano." Xel frowned; while Ned was a close friend and he was often present for his discussions with Jia Li, he knew even less than she did. "Well, my understanding is that my sister chose not to marry him because she didn't want to draw unfortunate comparisons between her and me," he answered. "Another ex was apparently a Clan plant attempting to gain influence." He shrugged. "He's also still close friends with our cousin, but apparently that has caused some issues with her marriage and I'm not sure what those are." He shook his head. "It's mostly just bad luck."

---

Jia Li shrugged. "That depends on how comfortable you'd be with Corbmac-shiro remaining fully clothed and watching us," she replied. "And if Aurel would be joining us." She turned to him. "No offense intended, grandfather," she added.

Gavril nodded, a look of slight relief on his face. So it wasn't anything to do with Ned himself, which was what he had been worried about. Andreea's reaction was much the same.

Then Gavril looked up at something hit him, something he hadn't thought to ask before. "How old is Ned?" he said, it didn't really matter but he was curious.

------

"None taken at all," Aurel replied politely.

"Hell, I do not care if he sees. Most Cetatsens would not, nudity is not really as big a deal for us," Gavrila said, then turned to Aurel, "All right Aurel, I suppose you can go off and do what you like. Zough could you check and make sure zat everyzing is set up for us first?"

Aurel nodded respectfully before replying, "Of course, doamna." And with that the elderly man made his way back up the steps, leaving Gavrila alone with the pair of Demonessians. Then Gavrila grinned, "All righty zen, just follow me."

She led the group back up the stairs, and then a short walk to yet another set of stairs downwards. This stairway opened up into an open space with what appeared to be a small pool in the center of it. The bath itself wasn't very deep and had a ledge along the sides for people to sit upon. However, Gavrila pointed to a set of doorways, one obviously marked for each gender.

"All right, just head on in and get undressed," she said, "I got to get ze baz to start heating up first; You do not have to worry zough by ze time we get undressed and clean up it should be nice and hot. And zen we can relax and share a drink!" By this point Gavrila was practically beaming, and it was obvious that she didn't care one bit that Corbmac or Jia Li would see her naked.

Xel frowned again, trying to remember. "I think he was born the same year as Yuri, so around thirty-four, thirty-five I guess."

---

Jia Li smiled. "Okay. Be right back," she said and disappeared into the changing room with Marcus. Unlike Ariana, he didn't also function as a servant and stood across from her with his arms crossed as she explored the changing room. "You had a chance to explore a little before you came on duty, ne?" she asked as she disrobed and he nodded. "How do you like it here so far?"

He nodded. "It's about what I expected," he replied. "I spoke a little with the Cetatsen ambassador before we departed. He was very helpful and gave some insights into his culture and helped me converse with the servants a little better."

She smiled, removing the last of her clothing and folding it neatly. "I'd ask you about Gavrila and the royal family, but I think she'll be in soon," she added quietly and he smiled. As she headed to the cleaning area, she pinned up her long hair so that no strands would fall below her ears, and washed up. Despite not being a servant, she did ask him to wash her back for her.

"Hmmm, I see," Gavril said simply.

Andreea looked at him and shook her head, "Gavril, she is an adult; 8 or 9 years is not zat big of a difference."

"I know," he said, "Did I say anyzing about it?"

"No, but I could tell what you were zinking."

------

Right before Jia Li entered into the cleaning area, Gavrila entered into the changing room. She didn't waste any time in stripping down naked. However, unlike the the Empress, who had neatly piled her clothes, Gavrila did little more than throw hers into a heap. And one thing of note to anyone who saw her was the fact that she didn't actually wear a bra.

She stood there for a moment looking at Jia Li's naked form before speaking. "You have no idea how much I wish zat I actually had boobs," she said, gesturing to her relatively small chest, "Mine look zey just decided to say 'aw, fuck it' when I was 13."

Xel frowned. "Is there something wrong with that?"

---

Jia Li giggled. "I have a solution for that: get pregnant," she suggested playfully. "Actually, mine shrunk half a size after the twins, but they returned to normal size after Adi. My cousin definitely grew a cup though." She grinned.
