If one was to take a place from the nation of Demoness to Cetatsenia, one would most likely see the dichotomy that the nation was rather known for. In the southern parts of the nation one would notice the highlands, heavily forested and almost untouched by man aside from the winding roads and the occasional town. But further north, the terrain would give away to the lowlands of the Centric Basin. This land was flat, and lacked the expansive forests, though there were smaller isolated forests. But the main difference one would notice would be the level of development, it was dominated by a large amount of farmland as the lowland soil was incredibly fertile, but there was also the occasional city, bustling with people. Albraustana-zid was one such city, and it was the primate city of Cetatsenia, the richest and most populous and most important of them all. It was built along both sides of the great Albastru River that ran through much of Cetatsenia, though most of it was on the southern bank of the river. This was because of the simple fact that Albraustana-zid had begun life as three separate forts and settlements built along the river. Albrau and Stana had been built on the Southern bank, and over time had grown together until they were finally united into Albraustana. And while Zid would eventually become part of the greater whole, for a long time it was simply considered a city separated from the capital only by the river. Since it had grown organically over the numerous years, and had once been three separate cities, the streets and roads had a habit of being winding and could be complicated to navigate for those unfamiliar with them who had no map. Though the roads had over time been widened and revamped in order to accommodate cars, and the newest sections of the city on the outskirts actually had a gridded street plan. As it was the middle of the day, the streets were currently filled with cars and buses, and the sidewalks filled with pedestrians, while the newest addition to the city's transportation network, the subway system, ran below the streets. While there was a number of attractions in the city, such as the museums and baths, one of the most prominent is the Palatul Regal, the Royal Palace. The site of the original settlement of Albrau and lying atop a hill, it has been torn down or otherwise destroyed and then subsequently rebuilt several times throughout history. The most recent being the ascension of Ioan I to the throne of Cetatsenia, though it has been renovated and updated since then. The Palace itself is surrounded by a wall that rings the entirety of the hill, with only a single gate leading up to it. The wall is patrolled by a special corps of Cetatsenian soldiers, easily identified by their bright blue ceremonial uniforms and ornate, pointed helmets. After that, a road lead up to the palace proper, an expansive building with a stone exterior that shared more in common with a medieval castle than what one thinks of when they hear the word 'palace'. It was home to a fair number of servants, as well as the guardsmen, and a small number of government officials. Most of those lived out in the city, and worked in their own buildings. It was absolutely huge, and in front of it was an expansive pool of water. Overall, it was an impressive sight that could be seen from a good portion of the city. At the moment, however, Voivode Gavril IV Suveraneshti was not at his home in the palace. Rather he was at the airport, which had been cleared of any citizens besides him, the guards arrayed with him, and those who worked there; all flights to this airport had either been delayed or rerouted to other nearby airports. Today was an important day, as this was the decided upon day of Jia Li's visit to Cetatsenia. As two nations whose relationship could be accurately described as "mutually neutral", this was a rather important meeting, and Gavril did not want to mess anything up. So he stood alongside his older sister Andreea, the Steward of Cetatsenia, in the airport, ready to head out onto the tarmac to greet the Empress as soon as her plane set down. Once again Gavril thought for a moment, and then he shook his head, "No, I do not believe so." Gavrila nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, since it is November, I doubt you will see any women walking around shirtless," she said, "Zat only really happens in ze Summer." At that Gavril gave her a look that made it clear that he couldn't believe she'd brought that up. It was completely unnecessary since, as the Knezinja had said, it was currently November. He'd have brought the fact up if this meeting was taking place in the middle of Summer, as he was aware that there were some nations that considered such things to be public indecency. But it wasn't Summer. "Gavrila, my dear cousin, was bringing zat up really necessary?" She grinned and shook her head, "Not in ze slightest." Then she looked at the Demonessians and laughed a little. Sometimes Gavrila just enjoyed the reactions of people from more nations that were more conservative than Cetatsenia when it came to nudity. Edited by Cetatsenia, Dec 3 2013, 12:35 AM.

The Demonessians frowned. Despite being a matriarchy, even female nudity was banned in public. However, unlike patriarchies, it wasn't because women's forms were "tempting". In fact, women were encouraged to breast feed in public and while breasts were still considered erogenous zones, sexual objectification actually focused on the thighs of both sexes; this brought a new perspective to foreigners when wearing or viewing shorts, which was the equivalent of showing cleavage. Jia Li smiled politely. "That is good to know," she replied, attempting to hide her discomfort. |

Gavrila stuck her tongue out playfully at the Empress, "Eh, you're no fun. I was hoping for a bit more of a reaction." Andreea simply shook her head at her cousins antics, not wanting to get involved in them. While Gavril simply put his hand to his forehead and shook his head slowly. Then he looked back up at the Jia Li with an apologetic look. He'd noticed the Demonessians discomfort, and he knew Gavrila wasn't going to apologize. "Well zen, do you have any ozer questions?" he asked her, "Anyzing at all? I'd be happy to answer zem." "And so would I," Gavrila added, quite unnecessarily. |

Jia Li shook her head. "I don't think I do right now. I'm sure some will come up later on, of course," she replied. "Do you have any for us?" Inwardly, she wondered what Ariana's reaction had been; she had no doubt the handmaiden was eavesdropping, for she had impeccable hearing, and she was very strict about decorum. Meanwhile, Ariana remained stoic, as if she hadn't heard the conversation at all; she was as still as a statue. |

Gavril thought for a moment, trying to decide on a question to ask them; he found it was surprisingly difficult to do. Then a fairly obvious question hit him, and he was actually surprised that he hadn't asked her sooner. "So, what did you zink of Cetatsenia when you were flying over it?" he asked, "It is quite pretty, isn't it?" "I hope you zink so, most of ze forest you saw was probably Sudest," Gavrila said smiling. |

Jia Li nodded. "I was pleasantly surprised to see how much of your land was undeveloped. Many of the places I've visited don't have the same unbroken forests or plains. They're very crowded and dirty by comparison, but this is very beautiful. It reminds me of home, though it is quite a bit colder." |

"Yes, most of ze development of Cetatsenia is in Albraustana-zid itself," Gavril said, "And to a lesser extent ze capitals of ze Knezates as well." Gavrila laughed. "Oh, please. Dreaptoras is barely a city, it is just a really big town," she said referencing Sudest's capital city, "It would be unimportant if my palace wasn't zere." "It is still ze largest settlement in Sudest," Gavril said back. "Only because ze Knez made it his capital," Gavrila shot back. Gavril just shook his head, and stopped the playful argument; they could go back and forth like that for quite a while. "I am glad it reminds you of your home," Gavril said, " I found Demoness to be quite beautiful, so I am flattered you zink ze same of my country." Edited by Cetatsenia, Dec 3 2013, 08:55 PM.

She smiled. "Though I do wonder what sort of environmentalism your country partakes in," she said. "Demoness is very careful about the impact it has on nature, which has limited us in some respects and, ano, freed us in others," she continued, referencing the wide use of green energy in the country; it was the preferred method of power output and was almost universally adopted. "Does Cetatsenia have similar policies to limit the impact of pollution?" |

"We do try our best," Gavril said, "Ze environment is very important to me, and all Cetatsenia. We are attempting to move away from using fossil fuels, and we do utilize green energy. But such a process takes time; one cannot just shut down all ze fossil fuel plants at once and simply replace them wiz cleaner energy." This time Gavrila didn't have anything to add, and just sat there petting Behemoth. |

She nodded. "I understand it is a long process, especially if there is resistance. However, if you need assistance, we might have patents you can adapt. I could get you in touch with the appropriate companies." |
