Loading… Loading… Loaded. Welcome to Zombie Zone. Jan took a sip from his tea as he clicked on his character and waited for the loading to finish. He only had the one character, which was all you got in the free edition, if you wanted more you had to pay for it with a monthly fee. The loading screen finished and he was treated to a brief animation of his character getting out of bed after which “Zyw” was free to roam the world of ZZ. Jan frowned at his avatar, he had had so much interesting stuff until his death but now Zyw was stuck almost exclusively in “standard kit”, or its winter version as the game did try to keep up with the seasons. Jan nodded to himself; he would have to remember to carry fuel for fires as only noobs let their characters freeze to death. Good thing he had remembered to put some stuff in the bars locker, though it wasn’t much but the backpack was slightly better than the free one while the balaclava would help with the cold and reduce his visibility. The steel helmet, though far from good, would help keep his character alive and the 9mm pistol was still a better weapon than the .22 pistol. Some players complained that the helmets and masks made it difficult to see their characters face but Jan didn’t mind as A) His character looked badass in a balaclava and B) The free version only had a small number of customisation options for avatars. Looking at the clock Jan saw it was almost the time his “comrades” were usually online, if they showed they could go out together, safety in numbers and whatnot. Thus Zyw was directed towards the bar, with its so bad it was good music (in truth the designers were constantly adding new tunes, some of it apparently written by fans) and plenty of other characters doing their things, asking for permission he was invited to a game of Hearts (one of the things that many players enjoyed about ZZ were the mini games). Cursing as he had received the queen of spades Jan began plotting on how to dump the unfortunate card on someone… |

- Of course you liked it moon, you're a psychopath with a bit of sociopath thrown into the mix And as for you Psiho, seriously? You trying to make me feel old? Look it up, its good stuff. Think someone even made a ZZ parody from that edition with the soundtrack.'

"Z, I'm not trying to make you feel old, you are just are," Psiho teased, "Nevermind the fact that we're from different countries." |

For a moment Zyw seemed to glitch, the avatar shaking in all directions before disappearing to be replaced a brief message: "This players connection has been terminated or is otherwise unavailable." Meanwhile Jan swore at his computer as it rebooted. With a frustrated sigh he got up and checked on other things as he waited for the OS to load. A few moments later he loaded up Zombie Zone and was greeted with a message; "Do you wish to respawn at your previous location? Warning, just because it was safe when you left doesn't mean it is now!" Jan clicked "Yes" and after a brief loading screen his avatar reappeared where he had left ZZ. - 'Miss me?' He typed the message, hoping the others had waited nearby. |

Selene swore when Zyw disappeared, wondering how long it was going to be before he got back on. She knew internet wasn't reliable in certain parts of the world and she'd had her share of problems, but this was bad timing. She didn't like being exposed. She crouched down and ran to the tree line to wait for him to come back. "I'm giving him 8 min," she said. OOC: I'll wait for Ceta before responding to Zyw. |

Psiho followed Moonchild to the treeline, irritated but not particularly angry or bothered by it. But if Zyw ended up not getting back online, he'd have some explaining to do. "8?" Psiho said, "I say we leave after 5 or 6." |

"hey, i was giving him the benefit of the doubt. my computer takes 5 min just to restart," Moonchild replied. "and you call me heartless" When Zyw reappeared, she said, "you're lucky. we were talking about how to split your **** if you didn't respawn soon" |

"Wow, your computer sucks," Psiho responded, "And just because I call you heartless doesn't mean I'm not." The Zyw popped back into existence. "Yeah. So what exactly happen? Your internet stop working?" |

Psiho followed Zyw, still keeping a watch around to make sure nobody caught him, or them, unaware. But he still managed to type a message and speak. "Wow, that is old. Surprised you can even run the game, how low do you have to set the graphics?" he said, "I mean, mine's not the newest machine but it's still not old, and I can't run it on the highest settings." |
