If you want to learn more about the Democratic Republic of Kyzylistan, ask your questions in this thread. Click here to view its NSWiki page.

The NSWiki is still under construction obviously. Kyzylistan is an entirely new project I'm working on, and your questions will help me brainstorm Kyzylistan.

What's the history of the Dèliekian people? What are the most influential religions? How religious is the populace?

Anthropologists and archaeologists have estimated that the first humans arrived in what is now Kyzylistan from Kamchatkalia in 300 C.E. These early settlers founded communities that would eventually become Ćuprija, Velika Plana, and Bosilegrad. While the north and center of Kyzylistan is mountainous and rugged, the south of the nation is especially perilous. Sometime around 500 C.E, a distinct break in migratory patterns was observed in historical records due to a disagreement in economics. The Kyzylics to that point had been largely agricultural, but the mountainous regions left few areas to farm. Roughly half of the Kyzylics ventured into the mountains to live as herders, while the other half founded Aleksandrovac.

After hundreds of years of geographical division, the Dèliekian people emerged as a distinct ethnic group. Although there are few distinct racial differences between Kyzylics and Dèliekians, Dèliekians tend to have lighter skin.

The ethnic difference to this day, however, tends to be based on profession; while Kyzylistan today is a modern socialist nation with several industries, the idyllic Kyzylistani is a farmer with land amongst the forests, hills and mountains. To this day, Dèliekians are primarily herders who live in small villages in the extreme mountains of the south.

Christianity is prominent in Kyzylistan. The largest church in Kyzylistan is the Episcopal Church of Kyzylistan, which is Anglican in origin. Additionally, Roman Catholicism and Orthodoxy are prominent.

Islam, the Baha'i Faith, Buddhism, and Neo-Paganism are also found in Kyzylistan.

Christians make up 70% of the population; secularists make up 20% of the population; adherents to minority religions make up 10% of the population.

Don't you mean the irreligious?

What are some traditional foods in Kyzylistan?

Does your nation have a military draft? Do both men and women serve? If so, do they serve for the same lengths of time, or different lengths?

Does your country have the death penalty? If so, when was the last time it was used, and for what crime?

Does your country have any policies regarding how many children you can have?

Are interracial marriages allowed?

Is it illegal to fart in public? Are those who urinate in public registered as sex offenders?

Does your country provide free education? For how long? Is it compulsory?

Is graffiti legal? What percentage of the population has access to safe drinking water? How many people die of hunger every year?

Was your nation a colonial power in the past? Or was it subjugated by others? Or neither?

Are there any forms of racial segregation in your nation? How many billions of barrels of oil does your nation have reserves of? How many cigarettes are smoked per capita per year? What percentage of the population has tried marijuana?

What is the obesity rate in your nation? Can you name anything which could have contributed towards that? Are restaurants required to list how many calories each item has? Is it legal to serve trans fat in restaurants, unlike in California? Or is there a total ban on trans fats, like Austria, Iceland, and Sweden?

What are common staple foods in your country?

What are some traditional foods in Kyzylistan?

Goat meat and other goat products are popular traditional foods in Kyzylistan. Potatoes are also incredibly popular.

Does your nation have a military draft? Do both men and women serve? If so, do they serve for the same lengths of time, or different lengths?

The Revolutionary Armed Forces of Kyzylistan (RAFK) is an entirely volunteer based force. It contains men and women, who serve equally in all regards.

Does your country have the death penalty? If so, when was the last time it was used, and for what crime?

The death penalty is only in place for treason, which is defined as actively aiding a declared enemy (whether it be a nation or a political entity). This penalty has never been carried out, however.

Does your country have any policies regarding how many children you can have?

There are no laws regarding the number of children a couple can have.

Are interracial marriages allowed?

Yes.

Is it illegal to fart in public? Are those who urinate in public registered as sex offenders?

Farting in public is legal, albeit crude. Urinating in public is not a sex offense, but exposing oneself to children is a sex offense. Urinating in public is merely indecent exposure and involved a hefty fine.

Does your country provide free education? For how long? Is it compulsory?

Compulsory education lasts for twelve years. All education is provided by the State free of charge.

Is graffiti legal? What percentage of the population has access to safe drinking water? How many people die of hunger every year?

Graffiti is not legal without expressed permission from the owner of the canvas in question.

All Kyzylistanis have access to clean drinking water.

Some .05% of the population dies of hunger every year. The welfare system manages to help most Kyzylistanis, but it cannot help all of them yet.

Was your nation a colonial power in the past? Or was it subjugated by others? Or neither?

It was neither a colonial power nor an oppressed nation. It has been independent for its entire existence.

Are there any forms of racial segregation in your nation? How many billions of barrels of oil does your nation have reserves of? How many cigarettes are smoked per capita per year? What percentage of the population has tried marijuana?

There is no de jure racial segregation, but certain ethnic groups tend to stick to certain neighborhoods or certain parts of the country.

It is expected that Kyzylistan has some 1 billion in recoverable oil in oil shale, but the Kyzylistani economy is not excessively driven by oil.

It is unknown how many Kyzylistanis have tried marijuana. It is not illegal, but no studies have been done yet.

The obesity rate is about 15%. All restaurants are required to post calorie counts on menus.

What are common staple foods in your country?

Goat, potatoes, grilled cheese sandwiches, orange juice, raisins and hot pockets.

Is Capital Punishment Still Used in Kyzylistan?

In theory. Capital punishment may only be applied to cases of treason; judges are constitutionally prohibited from sentencing someone to death for any lesser crime, so the maximum sentence for a horrible crime (say, rape or murder or terrorism) is a life sentence or a life of hard labor.

If a person is found guilty of treason, he may be sentenced to death. But the death penalty has never been used. Since the foundation of the Democratic Republic of Kyzylistan, three people have been found guilty of treason (by providing military secrets to outlawed political parties). Those persons were spared the death penalty and were given life sentences.

Why don't you use IIWiki? :3

OOC: It is a tragedy! I made Isola degli Alberi after Kyzylistan and realized IIWiki was infinitely better when I made it for Isola degli Alberi. Kyzylistan is too entrenched in NSWiki I feel for me to move it. :-(

What is your nation's position on Homosexual Rights?

Kyzylistani law is not heteronormative, but most of Kyzylistani society operates under a heteronormative paradigm. That being said, homosexuality and all other forms of "non-traditional" sexualities are recognized by the law and are treated with respect by most people. The only discrimination against homosexuality comes from radicals, who are almost universally disliked.

Are you really Democratic?

Kyzylistan really is a democratic state. The majority of Kyzylistanis are happy with the single-party state because it reacts to the demands of the people and provides a myriad of services.

Is your nation Demonizing Communism? >:C

Not at all! Although IRL I'm not a communist, I think its an interesting ideology.

I love your Nation's National Anthem, What is it called in real life?

I downloaded it from YouTube! It is an instrumental North Korean song, and I can't remember the exact video I got it from (the person who uploads the videos titles his videos "North Korean Music 001" or something like that).

Being a connoisseur of NK music though, I am incredibly sure it is a (somewhat rare) instrumental rendition of "Defend the Headquarters of the Revolution."

EDIT: I'll try to find the video again.

What percentage of the population is ethnically Arumdaumene?

Likely an incredibly small amount. The entirety of ethnically Arumdaumene persons live in tight-nit communities in Beograd, the capital. According to the census, the ethnic Arumdaumene population is no more than 1,500. However, independent pollsters estimate the number of ethnic Arumdaumene persons may be as high as 5,000.

All migrants to Kyzylistan are given temporary identification that lasts a year. In that year, migrants must find work and take a class on Kyzylistani history and culture. After a year is passed, a migrant may apply for Kyzylistani citizenship. If the person does not wish to become a citizen, he must pay a hefty tax for living in the country while not paying taxes. Most migrants may not afford this, so becoming a Kyzylistani citizen is much easier and more cost efficient.

Different documentation for students and other special cases exists.

The People's Ministry of Immigration may not accept any more than X amount of people into the country every year, a number set by the Party Assembly. To combat illegal immigration, the Civil Defense Force investigates and arrests migrants found with no documentation.

However, the immigration quota is quite high and it is easier to receive legal documentation, so there are few illegal migrants in the country.
