1: Despite a history of capricious relations between the two nations, today most Aurish hold Tyskland in high regard, and view her as their strongest ally in Lucerna. Both nations uphold the democratic process and exhibit high levels of political and civil freedom. In addition, owing to their close geographic proximity, both nations have shared cultural elements, unique to their region of the world. 2: Aurland has a multi-party system with three strong parties, and four other significant parties. The centre-right political party, Clann Aurda, is currently the largest in Aurland. 3: The royal family has historically been held in very high esteem, though faced a decrease in popularity due to its collaboration with Aurland's nationalist government during the Great War. Following the abdication of King Eochaid II to his son, Domnall in 1947, the monarchy received a revitalization of popularity. 4. The Aurish monarch retains executive authority over the government of Aurland through royal prerogative. The monarch also retains the ability to grant or deny giving a parliamentary bill royal assent. In practice these powers are only used according to laws enacted in Parliament or within the constraints of convention and precedent. Edited by Aurland, Jul 29 2013, 04:45 PM.
