Would Belun, or part of Belun ever have been colonized? What are the ethnic demographics? When did the current head of state take power? |

What is the political system of Bełun? What are the political parties, and what are their positions? Bełun's system is an authoritarian regime. As a result, all political parties are banned, as the National Council for National Regeneration deems them anti-national and a part fo the country's decline. There are, however, a large number of underground parties organized in the Democratic Platform, currently with its base in Ostiglia. What are some staple foods of Bełun? Pasta and fish are commplace. Such as bigoli (pasta), Rixi e bixi (kind of risotto) or Mołeche (fried crabs) Does Bełun practice conscription? Yes, martial values are very important to regenerate the national life of the country. What are the major religions of Bełun? Catholicism is the state-endorsed religion, other faiths are barely tolerated, they are deemed as contrary to national regeneration. What is the culture of Bełun like? (any real world equivalents?) Well it's Venetian, so sort of Italianish. However, due to the regime's extreme conservatism and patriotism, laws force very conservative attitudes among a population that doesn't exactly share them. Who are some revered Bełunese individuals? How is Aurland viewed by Bełun? Population? Meh. Government? Most likely hostile. |

Not likely. In the past Bełun was an important trade link and commerce hub, which went downhil in the 19th century especially, so I don't think so. It is however possible that the smaller islands or some parts f the larger island were a part of other countries. Ethnically? Very homogenous. Understandably, foreigners (except if rich) are unhealthy for the nation's ongoing process of moral revitalization and regeneration. Well, the Council for National Regeneration was created by the military coupists in 1955 when they deposed the liberal-oligarchic monarchy. |

What caused authoritarianism to come about in Bełun, and survive in such a relatively liberal region? |
