Today, I’m full of energy to raise my ideas. In fact, I’m not a fan of football, I don’t care it. However, I usually read Thanh Nien newspaper and in football column, reporters always use very big headlines to attract readers including me. Therefore, I know a little about football, just a little. Thus, If I say something wrong, you can correct for me. And unfortunately, next Saturday, I’m going to be absent but I intend to ask someone listening your answer for me.
In your speech, You use concrete football teams as well as figures concerning football. That’s great since we can image what you are saying. Another good point is that you can list advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, base on them, you can give out your solutions. However:
-First, to make your presentation perfect, you should correct the pronunciation in advance by looking at phonetics or listening to the dictionary. As I know, You would like to work for a foreign company so it’s very necessary. If you don’t know how to pronounce when you look at the phonetics, I’m willing to help you.
-Second, your solutions are still general and it seems that you just resolve for a short term, not a long-run. I said that because all of your solutions focus on adult football players. If we regulate something just for them, I think it’s too late to win a competition because:
*It takes a few years to improve a system. Therefore, when your plan finishes, maybe, most of players (in the present) are too old to join in Sea game (Sea game is just for player under 23 years old)
*I think one of the most important things causing a failure of Vietnam football is most of players don't have a good base and the solution of Vietnam Football Federation is hiring a foreign coach with a request: he will lead our team to get to the final or semifinal...After that, if he's not successful, he will absolutely be dismissed. How can they get a champion with not having the good base(both physical strength and football skill), just being trained for a few months? As a result, many specialists said that Vietnam built a house from the top, not the bottom--> in your solution, it seems that there's no plan for teen.
- For the point: slow down salary. Could you please tell me more details: Are you sure when you cut down salary, footballers will play better. Now they receive high salary, suddenly cutting down. What will happen, maybe they feel bored, have no motivation to compete. The second thing is how can you do that(slow down salary) because you can't interfere with the activities of football teams which are almost belong to entrepreneurs.
- Manager: as we discussed in class, I didn't think so and you also agreed with me. So now, could you please correct some things and tell me more about your solution again (in your solution you said that managers must be good at foot ball) .
The last one is

In your speech, You use mentioned concrete football teams as well as the figures concerning our current football status. That’s great since we can image imagine what you are saying. Another good point is that you can listed (2)the advantages and disadvantages. Therefore, based on them, which you can give gave out your solutions. However:
-First, to make your presentation perfect, you should correct the pronunciation in advance by looking at phonetics or listening to the an e-dictionary. As I know, You would like to work for a foreign company so it’s very necessary to consider good pronunciation. If you don’t know how to pronounce correctly when you look at the phonetics (3)phonetic characters, I’m willing to help you.
-Second, your solutions are still general and it seems that you just resolve for a short term, not long-runin the long run. I said (4) that because all of your solutions only focus on adult football players. If we regulate something just for them, I think it’s too late (5)to win a competition because it takes us a few years to improve a system.
be continued soon
1. If I say something wrong, you can Please correct for me
2. We should use Present simple for the actions in the past unless we actually want to emphasize the live features of the action.
3. phonetics is the study of speech sound (of phonetic)
4. Over here, it's better to use present simple, because you may not stress on the past but just to what you mean.==> I say that because...
5. The sentence may mean that: it'll take a very long time to be championm is it right?

The last reason you mentioned is to bribe referees into being unfair in controlling matches.Honestly, I don't think if you could resolve this problem, the result of Vietnam team will be better because:
* In fact, the graft you mentioned is true. Nevertheless, It's not popular because
**First, a boss just bribes a referee in some extremely important matches which influence on the result such as which team will be a champion or which team will compete at a lower level competition next season.
**Second the matches are observed by a lot of audiences, especially a supervisor of those match. Therefore, it's very easy to figure out the referees unfair or not; then, they will be punished
** Last but not least: if someone wants to control a result, he almost bribes footballers playing important roles in their team. It is more easier to change the result of any match instead of grafting the referees.
* Back to my point, your purpose is improving something so as to get medals in international competitions. Therefore, you want to refine quality as well as football skills of players. Base on your presentation, I do not know any relation between the graft and the quality. The referee can't affect on the player's quality because first, it’s not popular as I mentioned above; second, most of players try to show their abilities to make impression to a coach of the national team. The more they can appear in the national team, the more chances earning money they have.
Those are my ideas about your speech. I'm looking forward to seeing your response.

Now, Gura's time.
Mr. Thang, the topic you chose is not familiar to me frankly. l do not love soccer but you would do.
Your strenghts are:
- You reminded me of some typical and special events or issues concerning to our national football. Honestly, what you stated was some rather "new" news to me. Yes, l can learn something new and interesting from you about Vietnamese football. Because l do not care about daily football, detais presented by you are some kinds of special and hot break news and rumours that l have never noticed before.
-You can say what you wanna say. Although it was your first time to do a public speaking, it was encouraged that you could say it. l really appreciate your effort.
Your weaknesses are:
- The speech were broad but not deep. lt was good when you included all factors and aspects of football ( player-referee- manager) but forgot to explain them in a specific and concise ways. For example, you reached to a phenomenon of player call " Star-Sick" ( as you mentioned) and you just gave a brief description of it and forgot to show where it originates from and how that phenonmeon affects the teamates and the stability of the football team. Furthemore, there was no particular detais on how you can prevent it. In general, it seems that the content of your speech was not researched very much and carefully; hence, it lacked several further essential ideas to support statements given by you.
- Body language was bad. You can sit down but not always. Professionals are ones who can use their body language so effectively. Please do not just always sit down at the whole speech. It is advisable that you should sometimes stand up, go around, observe the behaviors of audience to find wether or not they understand you then seek new ways to convey your messages in the simplier manners. Use you hands, facial expressions, voice, head to illustrate what you are saying. They are tips to help you show how interesting and "VIP" you are.
-You lack a board to present. It is optional to use other visual devices to reinforce the speech. Judging from your position, l suppose you must use some kinds of tools and facilities to express what you mean in a clear way such as a board, a handout paper.... It is normally very effective when you wanna state a weird word or strange phrases and show them on the board. Then you are a understandable man.
- Pronunciation needs to be trained more. Your pronunciation is getting better but l need more improvements from you. Keep going !
Now, "need-to-be answered" questions:
1/ How you can prevent the "Star-Sick" phenonmenon among soccer players ?
2/ How to prevent the corruption from referees or players in football ? l remember you just wanna to punish those criminals but it is not enough to say so because it does not mean you are able to prevent it . So what are we going to eliminate it further ?
3/ Massive paying for Football players should be encouraged since that is one of some indispensable ways to keep our players with us. Otherwise, talented football players can leave away and join our opponent's teams. So to some what extents do you think the fact of vast salary for players is not good at all ?
4/ l read a electronic article about the life of an female athlete after she retired from her sport work. She had a miserable life. In the time she was an athlete, she got several proud medals for our national sports such as track and field but when getting retired, little support did she receive from the admistrators of her sport, she living in storehouse in the stadium or doing on more jobs beause pension was not sufficient for her to live on.
That is a real story l read a quite long time ago i do not know exactly. That story is somehow related to sport management. So do you think it can be happen to our football players thesedays with the current management of our board of administrators ? Do you have any suggestions to stop it or improve the life of our players after they get retired ?
Good luck, Mr. Thang.
To your great things,
Gura.
