Generally a patient admitted to your care will have multiple injuries, however sometimes a single small injury, such as a split lip, broken nose etc, it's usually these smaller injuries that can be the most painful and the patient will want it dealt with immediately. The up side is: there is a single spell to cure this type of mild injury; the down side is: not many people know it and it can be tricky to get it right, so it generally resorts in a trip to a Healer. The spell to fix minor injuries is Episkey, it derives from the Greek word episkevi which means to repair. Now let's practice this spell; it's just a quick flick of the wrist by a right angle clockwise and the bone/skin will fuse together again. The side effect of this spell is that it produces more pain by being performed but this pain usually only lasts for up to a minute before vanishing, leaving the affected area cured and pain free. Homework 1. Why is Episkey typically performed by Healers? 2. List three minor injuries where using Episkey would be useful. 3. Describe the wrist movements used to perform Episkey. 4. Are there any side effects that may occur when using this spell? If yes, describe the side effects. |
