Today we will be studying the incantation Tergeo. This spell derives from the Latin verb Tergere which means to 'wipe dry, wipe clean or cleanse'. Just point and say, Tergeo.
Tergeo is very useful in treatment. If a patient is bleeding from several places that are in close proximity it is sometimes difficult to see each individual wound. By clearing away the blood you will be able to see the wounds more clearly and will then be able to provide a more effective treatment. The joy of this spell is that it will only remove blood, it touches nothing else so it is safe to use even when adding salves to the wounds. The area can be kept free of blood without affecting the treatment.

This spell can also be used to clean up any blood that might have gotten on work tables, floors or beds while treating patients. It is also very useful to keep up appearances. As Healers we come in contact with many patients through out the day, showing up to an appointment with blood on your uniform may cause your new patient to become uncomfortable. Simply point at the offending area and say the incantation and your uniform is good as new.

Homework

1. Describe a scenario where using this incantation would be useful.

2. How is this spell performed?

3. Why is this spell so useful in Magical Healing?
