Wizards involved in daring deeds or sometimes just in schoolboy scraps can get cut quite badly. Unless a deep cut is created by a curse, such as Sectumsempra, the bleeding can be stopped instantly by use of a simple spell. This spell's existence has been known about for some time but only a select few wizards actually know it and they have used it non-verbally. Due to this the spell has not been able to be put to general wizarding use, because to cast a spell non-verbally you need to know its incantation, which as you can gather no-one has said whilst casting it. However, the incantation has been leaked; but because no-one is saying who it was or how they found it out, the spell is not canon approved, so use at your own risk! The incantation given is Arresanguis, which literally translated means 'stop blood' so it's a fairly safe bet that it will do the trick even if it isn't the official spell. The spell prevents any more blood leaving the wound and leaves the body to heal the cut in the normal fashion. It is especially useful when wizards are on dangerous missions, they can stop bleeding and continue on until they can get proper medical attention. In the Healing sense, this will stop the bleeding of many cuts and then leave the healing to that that knows it best: the body. Homework 1. What type of cuts cannot be healed by this spell? 2. Why isn't this spell common knowledge? 3. How does this spell work? |
