Yes, I have been playing the game online for some time; However, I also had to deal with button delay, a rather bothersome moment for all of us. Lately I have been dealing with lag switch modifying. I am sure it appears to be a rumor for many out there. Some would even go so far as to say that it doesn't exist. I witnessed first hand that it does, and it happened to me several times. Lag Switch Modifying or "CODE: LSM" appears when an opponent alters their connection to where you feel the pressure on your end of the battle. Results include: A wicked slow frame speed, something your opponent doesn't feel at all. There is the change in connection level, from 5 to any number where it is difficult for your character to move (between 1 and 3). Last but not least, it is evident when the frame speed is back to normal when you are beaten. Normally I am a patient guy when it comes to gaming, but online play has been getting rather boring lately, when it comes to SC4. Aside from nice graphics (which I see is the only real addition I see upon the SC Franchise), along with modified styles with newly added tactics along with subtracted tactics in order to relearn your favorite characters (nerfing some to be rather blunt and augmenting others) There isn't much else to do rather than Normal or Special Ranked or Player Matches. Sure there is the Tower of Lost Souls, but honestly I found the Weapons Master game more appealing (SC2) than that area of the 4th game, and Chronicles of the Sword (SC3) beats Tower of Lost Souls by a Long Shot. There is your matter of even more factors being taken away from the game, such as Team Battle (which could have been a possibility, if Namco really tried), along with an actually story mode. The Tales of Souls on SC3 was (and still is to this moment) a lot more interesting. They actually gave you choices which would determine the opponents you would face along with well written story dialogues for you to read, including a map with an icon of your person showing you where you are headed. SC3 was the result of a production team taking their time with a good fighting game. I also forgot to mention there were over 40 different fighting styles. You have 30+ of the original characters then you have the 15+ completely different fighting styles to learn. There was also the benefit of each character having their own background stage. Very good with SC3 Namco. And then there is SC4 Which is a nerfed version of SC3 altogether. Parrying System appears to be more difficult (for those who like a challenge), and then you have those custom fighting styles from the previous installment, which are missing in this one? And there will be a total of 20 stages in this one. JustifyTheProxy: Let's not forget about the lack of choice when it comes to the stages CF. When we both played SC3, we noticed there were a choice upon the stage we had whether caged or shortened. Just like in Soul Calibur 2. No Justify, I won't forget that. As a matter of fact it's one of those factors which led to my dislike of the game. JustifyTheProxy: I bet if SC3 was online it would attract a much bigger audience. Yes Justify it would, and then some. But let's continue. The lack of options when obtaining honors (which lead to the game becoming stressful), also draws the fun away. JustifyTheProxy: It did, since the previous installment would have more than one way for you to obtain items. Gamefaqs manuals would tell you about the primary way to obtain a certain item or prize, but you would also have the secondary way (although it would normally be longer) it would eventually lead to you obtaining the item. That kind of thing would normally happen without you even knowing it. Spot on again, well I think Justify and I had covered the reasons why we are both quitting from SC4. If we ever play again, it's simply because of offline entertainment and there will be challenging people in the same room as ours, as in the same bedroom where I keep my console. JustifyTheProxy: Apparently I have been confused for JoyByProxy which I don't see how is possible. I go by the name Justify and there we have Joy who only uses Kilik where as I try to be versatile with every other character except Kilik. The way people use him online led to my distaste for him in so many ways, therefore I do not use him. If you have seen Kilik used on my account, that would be CF's fault for doing so. Which reminds me, you have some explaining to do when I get back from my field trip. I'll explain everything when I get back. But there you have it fellow readers. I quit. God Bless You! ^_^ |

I'm sorry to hear that, fighters can be really stressing at times. The delayed inputs are usually the first to turn me off playing fighters online. |

And the interesting part is, that it never happens when I am playing with my friends. Only with strangers online. |
