If you have a short suggestion, post it here. If you have a long one, make a topic. |

Then perhaps you should've explained what you meant, with a little more detail. I assumed you had meant an upper limit on the VP a player could get over the course of the game. And if the system of basing NPC VP off of an average of the top 10 PCs after the majority breach the 50 mark were in place, then we wouldn't need to worry about NPCs being miles better than PCs, except in the case of named NPCs, who seem to be better than the average PC as a rule in most games. I'd also suggest condensing the levels from 1-10 to 1-5. And that kind of set end I can agree with. A year seems to be about how long these things last. Edited by Frenzy, Mar 30 2012, 06:21 PM.

I do mean to suggest a cap on VP for this particular system. In fact the idea relies on it. NPCs should only change under one or both conditions if met. First is players upgrading NPCs with currency and the other is when the staff decides to increase the VP cap. |

In FI:NE, the VP of the NPCs only increased once every month, so that is what I had in mind here, and I'd assume that's what you meant by staff increasing the cap. If I'm getting something wrong, please tell me. |

VP cap increase is only if the staff decides to continue running the RPG. Should the RPG run the planned course then no VP increase should be needed. |

I'm siding with Janadian on this one. I like the idea that we can raise the cap for new people so they aren't left in the dust. I always hated being so damn weak I had to practically cling to the stronger players to avoid getting my ass kicked by npc forces. The cap for higher end players is fine so long as it is a little higher then npc shop pilots or maybe equal...I'm still up in the air on which but I don't mind it. And he is right the chance that this game will last long is very slim. Bare in mind FI:NE and OYW Mark V were the only games I'm aware of that have survived a year this is outside your unusual anomalies such as MSGWars that lasted a number of years and I think that was because we were all younger and had no lives This cap on both ends will be helpful and we can always raise it with staff blessing.

New idea: level cap at 200 or 300, but when you hit the cap you get a special NPC. "But Draco, what is Special NPC?" Special NPC can't be killed unless the owning player is killed. "But Draco, what keeps NPC from being second PC?" Three restrictions: 1. NPC starts at Level 1, never goes above half PC's VP, and gets 1/2 VP from battles. No Mobile Dolls either. 2. Only gets mass-production machine, either from shop or King Zepp approval. No Double Wing Zero or Neue Ziel for you, Mr. Powergamer. 3. NPC may not be given his own actions. If NPC somehow hits its max, that players gets no additional Special NPCs. Edited by Draco, Apr 9 2012, 09:08 PM.

That...I can get behind. 300 level cap is reasonable, too. |

I like the idea of an NPC after hitting a cap, but how about making it more like a ship? It can be given it's own actions, but if it leaves the players side, it can be killed, and you don't get another. The best thing about caps, is they don't have to be perminant. If the RP looks like it's going to last longer, or people hit the cap too easily, then it can be adjusted at the will of the Staff. |

I'm confused, I got the email for the new EoC site but the forums link goes to an old set from last year. Are we going off of this one or the one that's linked on the site? |
