yea looks like win8 runs wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy in the back and the 2 other goof troop OS'es run in a hyper V on top. ugh, i got my hopes up to soon. as far as cloud gaming it seems more like "cloud computing" like maybe shoving lame-o not important stuff over to a far away server to figure out. yea this thing doesn't look so cool :-( its like a PC in console chains.

I think it's win 8 with a Xbox specific front end. Remember its not meant to be a desktop PC, its meant to be an entertainment hub for your living room controlled by kinect, a controller or remote. Speaking of kinect, they're saying it might be available on PC. |

yea kinect has been on PC since it came out.. just used for other things then games. they have the drivers and stuff for support its more used as a tool then for games, i think some ware houses are using them for package scanners and stuff. yea i know its not supposed to be a PC but damn its RIGHT THEREREREER. Its win8 then they have the other stuff running in hyper Vs on top, im sure we'll see lots of hacking on this. |

I think this time they will have third party support for kinect on PC with licensed software and all that. I personally don't want a PC in my living room, I'd rather have something like the Xbox which can do all that stuff, with my cable, kinect, voice command and all that. It's a very smooth and streamlined setup. That being said, I was expecting a lot more from their reveal, they were very vague. What it does do, it does better than anything else though even though it doesn't have a lot of customizability. Edited by ilivas, May 24 2013, 05:25 PM.

well I mean PC has been able to do this for a loooooooooooooooooooooooong time. but plug up, drink beer, sit down. no. once you get it all configed and setup, sure. but not outa the box. and this pretty much is a PC connected to your TV.............so...........................................what? its just a PC with another MS fisherprice front end locked down so you can't fully do whatever. its like an indy car locked at toyota speed. that thing is a PC, its not a console, its a PC hooked to your TV.... so you just got what you said you never wanted, you just got it with big giant blue and red buttons like simon says. I was kinda excited for the very fact that it WAS a PC i could connect to my TV, now its just another balls clipped thing............. gota believe people will hack it into something useful though. Running a PC is not remotely the same as Xbox one. Did you watch the video? A PC doesn't do any of that stuff, the stuff a PC can do its not near as polished. Sure a PC has its place, but not in the living room. It's not there yet if ever. Plus $500 including kinect, that price will be hard to beat. I don't really care what the guts of it are or what the kernel is, as long as it works great I'll use it. I don't care if its a PC based platform or if it runs on Atari 2600 parts if it works it works. I'm not anti-PC, but I know what I want for an entertainment hub, and windows media center or any of those other open source front ends really suck which is why I stayed away from them. What can a PC do that this can't do in a media hub configuration? I'm not going to be making spreadsheets on an Xbox. I can name plenty of things the Xbox can do that a PC won't be able to do. i know its way more polished so mom and the kids can use it i just wish they would give it "pants down" mode. you know so you could torrent box it, play steam games too, emulator, etc. I do plenty of stuff on the TV computer that I don't do on my main machine.. its nice to have that thing just grinding away at stuff. |

I have a popcorn hour in my living room that can handle torrents, but I never use it because it requires that I use a keyboard because a remote is just too difficult to use, and I don't like keyboards in the living room. I use my gaming PC for that stuff, and keep in mind the Xbox is linked to all PCs in the house. Playing steam games would be nice, but its not a high priority since I haven't played a steam game in months. MS would never allow that anyways. Much like you can't play Xbox games on PC. They will hack this thing though just like the other ones were hacked if you want to do that kind of stuff. I remember PS3 was able to run windows, and Linux. That's just not for me though. I don't want to bother with it. Edited by ilivas, May 25 2013, 01:23 PM.

yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy 1st flat on the new bike grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr well its time for me to get my free cable tune and i get 1/2 off stuff from the shop since i got my bike from them so i just take it in and get all of it fixed while i go play today.... they take a look at my tires and say um how much do you ride? well, wore the tires right off... which is why i got a flat. Seems these tires only last around 1000 miles. So new of tires andd what? they are directionals --------> ? it looks like i have street bike tires now hope these last longer they are the beast master puncture proof ones.

The new Xbox is supposed to be controlled primarily with voice control, I'm pretty excited about that. Saving $50 a month on cable boxes is icing on the cake too. I don't torrent very much anymore since Netflix has me covered pretty much. |

I'm not going to see it any time soon, but part of me enjoys those movies just because of how terrible they are. They're kind of in that Starship Troopers genre. I love that movie, but only because it's just the most god awful movie I've ever seen. |

Going tomorrow or Wednesday now I guess, my Dad surprised me by going hey lets grill before you go into work! OK sounds good. So the Silverado has claimed it's first victim, creamed a raccoon last night. Didn't even have time to avoid it, all I thought was sorry pal.
