This is an email my cousin sent to me:

"I did, I wasn't impressed. They spent most of the time pushing its multimedia capabilities. The system has 8 gigs of DDR3 ram; 3 gigs are going to be used to run the system, its operating system, and it's multimedia apps in real time - oh, and Kinect runs the entire time, monitoring yours voice and gestures (fucking creepy haha). They showed one exclusive, Forza 4, and that was it for exclusives. I'm sure they'll debut some new IP's and other games at E3, but I'm more stoked for PS4.

The PS4 comes saddled with 8 gigs of DDR5 ram (faster than DDR3), and only devotes 1 gig of ram to system resources. It also has a faster CPU/ GPU. Oh, and Sony debuted 8 exclusives available at launch during their reveal a month ago and will have more to show at E3 I'm sure. Sony's also getting bonus content for a lot of cross-platform games this time around like Bungie's new IP Destiny.

From what I can gather so far, Sony is trying to entice the hardcore gamer, offering an impressive launch lineup of games, where as Microsoft is pushing multimedia capabilities. Oh, and PS4 will still be free to play online with optional Playstation Plus subscription. Not to mention it ships with a mic and will be better catered to offer community support and improve interactions with your friend online - something the PS3 fell kinda short on.

In conclusion, I am really, really stoked for the PS4 and will definitely be picking it up on launch! I might consider the X1 sometime down the road once its price drops. But it's the games I want to play, and so far that's what Sony's ensuring day one. I'm just so bored with current gen games. I think that's the reason I haven't been playing nearly as much. I'm sick of Unreal Engine 3. And I'm tired of the current level of immersion I get with current gen consoles. The only game coming out this gen that has me even remotely interested is The Last of Us."

So the Xbox doesn't have a lot of fans amongst people I know. :ha I still think I won't snag either console as I could probably significantly upgrade my PC for the same price as a console.

I'd wait for e3 before we draw any conclusions. It should be June 11th.

Actually the multimedia capabilities are what I'm more concerned about because let's face it, it will have good games. They already stated it would release with a ton of exclusives. Xbox has always bested every other platform with their game library.

There is a good possibility, I'll be getting both a PS4, and Xbox depending on their showing at e3. The Xbox one is a given though, I'll definitely be buying it IF its at a reasonable price point ~$500.

$21k actually isn't too bad, if I was wealthier, I would jump on that.

Yeah I'm not impressed with the X1 at all. As an avid xbox'er over the years, I'm going to switch to PS4 for my next consol. That is unless MS does something to convince me that this new X1 isn't a steaming pile of HTPC influenced garbage. I wont be picking one up at the launch tho. Ill wait a few months to hear real world thoughts on the systems. But yeah right right I'm about 90% sure I'm getting the PS4. It just really seems like the X1 is a multimedia machine that can play games...i dont need that shit out of my consol. Id rather have something dedicated to gaming.

Idk why, but I'm really turned off by that always on kinect shit. I know I probably dont have anything to worry about, but just the fact they made a system that constantly watches your every move kinda rubs me the wrong way. I dont want any part of that shit.

Lookin to book a trip somewhere for after my GF takes the BAR exam in july. Found decent flights to Munich and Athens for late August, both places I would like to go. Any of you been to either? Im leaning more towards Greece, but Munich would be cool too.

I've been to Germany, but not Munich.

I've also been to Greece. You'll want to go to Greece, the scenery is awesome, and is kind of a romantic setting.

I recommend a cruise from princess cruises that runs through Greece.
