I'm doin pretty well. Been putting off going to the eye doctor for years, and just went today because I'm having trouble reading shit now. Never had glasses my entire life, and I thought I had pretty good eye sight. I thought shit was just blurry because humans just couldn't see very far haha. Turns out I have astigmatism or whatever it's called, and the test glasses I tried on helped a lot, so I decided to go ahead and finally get glasses. I'm 30 years old, and this was the first eye appointment I've ever had. But I'm pretty excited, glasses should come in tomorrow or Saturday so Ill see how that goes. |

That is a pretty awesome shot! Eh I've had glasses since around 10? 12? years of age, I'm just used to them. Transitionals are nice to have. Nice of you to drop by Germeezy! Things are alright. Car makes a mystery noise that is driving me nuts. FL is hot and humid.

i've had glasses since I was in 3rd grade......couldn't see what the teacher was writing on the board...etc. I also have an astigmatism, strange yours waited this long to distort your vision! Just get used to getting them checked every year....sometimes it will change...sometimes it won't. I went 4 years with out a prescription change. If glasses annoy you like they annoy me get contacts other then putting them in and taking them out... AWESOME! Just don't over ware them / sleep in them, and get your eyes all fucked up. 7 hours a day, REMOVE, back to glasses. Also if you get contacts, you have to get weighted once that rotate around in your eye...when you put them in look for the dash markings...dash is always downother wise you'll walk around for 5 mins with blind-o vision until they rotate into place. feel free to ask any questions..i've been going to eye doctors so long it feels like i could be an eye doctor |

It's getting there. There are a ton of listings this high, but obviously no one is bidding. I'm ready to sell though when the time is right. |

Same here... I got glasses at 10... I hated them so I didn't wear them all through school, and I just recently started wearing them, but I may switch to contacts. I hate poking myself in the eye though.

I have never worn contacts, I can't get over the whole touching my eye thing. I'm just so used to glasses and look at it as minor eye protection too. Eh. I see the shotguns up around $800, I'm definitely waiting longer. Might never sell it though, I like it. |

you don't touch your eye, you don't even really feel anything...once the lens hits your eyeball its just like a cool wet splash. When you 1st get the lenses you will feel them for a few days but not on your eyes...just when you blink and things, that goes away and you don't feel anything. Taking them out the same thing...you are grabbing the lens so you never feel anything, depending on your lenses sometimes they are SUPER easy to take out. My last pair i could just almost touch them out. My new ones that are another brand, I can see better but they are kinda slippery so they are tricky to get out. But I remember when i 1st got them it was almost a frustrating process cause i wasn't used to it, took me 10 to 15 mins to put them in. If you ever get them... put them on FACE DOWN, you can't look in the mirror up and down and expect that lens to stick to your finger while you put them in..not happening. face down, and use a hand mirror when you 1st get them so you can make sure you clear your lids and stuff and get it right in your eye...after a few months you won't need that but it helps when you are new. contacts easy cheezy, 100% get them if you can. also if you are waring glasses with your contacts, and are not full time waring those lenses 8 hours a day...you can ignore that throw away every 2 weeks or whatever, ware them for a month. when i 1st got mine it was 1 set every 2 months...as time went on it was suddenly 1 month....then 2 weeks... WTF i've been waring this same brand, same lens for 10 years and now they only last 2 weeks? kept my cleaning process etc.... i think its the lens manuf just trying to make you toss fine lenses to sell more. I ware my 2 week toss contacts for a full month no issue...keep em clean, no prob.... and i use clear care solution which is a peroxided bubble bath which turns to pure water after 6 hours and it keeps them PERFECT. I'd rather ware contacts and glasses then get a laser beam shot at my eyeball, an since I have an astigmatism my eye can keep distorting shapes my whole life, so it might only last 10 years and whoops back to laser beam or glasses. |

my sister had lasik one a few years ago and her eyes have been perfect, she said it was the best thing shes ever done. Her eyes were pretty terrible before that too. I'm sure lasik is safe, but I'm with you Ilivas. I feel like even tho it's done safely 99.99% of the time, one slip up and bam...blind. |

My mom had it done and they tore up her cornea and she was in pain for several weeks. She recovered but she still has glasses. The odds of failure are 1/300, I know that it's unlikely but still... My mom was the 1. Also, my cousin and a couple other people I know who were near sighted, developed far sightedness several years after the procedure. I already have problems with things going near my eyes which is why I struggle with contacts. The mere image of a laser slicing open a flap on my eyes makes me cringe. Not to mention, you have to be awake for it. |

damn that's crazy. I haven't really done a whole lot of research on it, but from the little bit I know about, it seems like doctors have performed the procedure a lot of times when they shouldn't have. You're eyes change over time, and i think you're supposed to wait until you have 3 or 4 years in a row where your prescription doesn't change. I think it was pretty common in the beginning for doctors to perform the procedure without waiting for the eyes to stop changing, so it was actually pretty pointless for somebody to get the procedure because their eyes were just going to go out of wack again anyway. |

sooooo.....Tony Stewart killed a guy. I've watched the video about 10-15 times, and I still don't know what to make of it. At first, I thought he didn't see him or whatever. But then after watching it a few time, it looks like he rev'd right before he hit him. Almost like an "I'm gonna rev and scare this little punk a little" or something like that, and it just went horribly wrong. I really don't think he meant to actually hit him, but who knows. As bad as I feel for the kid and his family, dont get out of your fucking car, and start stomping into the middle of a bunch of sprint cars at night wearing all black....he should have gotten hit long before Stewart came around. |

yeah...of all the celebrities that have died over the past few years, this one was probably one of the only ones that really got to me. One of the funniest people to ever live. Just one more example of how important proper care for mental health really is. |

I think the problem with mental healthcare is that we just don't have a good understanding of it yet. |
