Cops don't just stop and talk to you out of the blue. I have never in my life had a cop just stop me and start harassing me for NO reason.

Well maybe... 5 drunk asses walking to the gas station getting chips at 2 am.. we look weird, he stopped, asked WTF we were doing. Told him... getting chips...we are walking
cause we are drunk... ok have a nice night.

wow that was easy.....why did he stop us? no reason? no... people wondering the streets at 2am with chips looks strange...making sure we aren't up to no good.
I guess TECHNICALLY he should not have done any thing...but...............................

now we could have said.. muthafucka why you stoppin me you aint got no reason you no blahbolahblhalbhalhb ok things would have went another direction.

it kinda sounds like you haven't had many stops or encounters with police.

I've actually been stopped and harassed by cops for no reason quite a few times, which is why this cops attitude pisses me off so much. I've been handcuffed and had my car searched (illegally) because I was walking too close to a fucking park after dusk. At the time I was 20 years old walking to my car after playing Halo at a friends house. I just sat there and let them do whatever they wanted because I knew if I said anything, they would just make the situation worse. It was bullshit and looking back I wish I would have stood up for myself. But I grew up in a low crime, suburbia hell where cops got super bored from doing nothing, so they would harass people out of sheer boredom, so I think it's pretty standard for cops to be dicks in situations like that. There have been other times as well, but that's the most ridiculous one I can think of.

But it's easy to say things like "Cops don't just stop and talk to you out of the blue. I have never in my life had a cop just stop me and start harassing me for NO reason." when you're a clean cut white guy. If you have goofy hair, tattoos, piercings, different clothes, aren't white, ect, your chance of harassment goes up exponentially. Regardless of the outcome of the situation, it isn't a cops job to ask you what you are doing at 2am with a bag of chips. It's not illegal to have a few drinks and walk over to a gas station. There's no reason to question anything you're doing, it's just a cop on a power trip. Yeah, you didn't say anything to him so nothing happened. but that same cop is going to ask every person he sees at 2am until somebody gives him a smart ass answer he doesn't like, and them BAM...cops are out of their car and the guy is on the ground in handcuffs being arrested for drunken disorderly. That type of shit creates situations...it creates distrust...it creates this whole fuck the police ideology, and in turn perpetuates more conflict in the future.

EDIT: I didn't mean to call you out like "fuck you man that's easy to say when you're a clean cut white guy" haha. I re read that and was like man that was kind of dickish. I'm a white male too, relatively normal and clean cut looking. I meant that's easy for you to say that meaning like white, normal looking people in general...myself included. But I have a lot of friends that do have tattoos, or are black/asian/middle eastern/whatever, or have goofy hair and tons of piercings and I've seen first hand them get harassed while I'm out with them, and cops say nothing to me. I'm literally doing the same thing they are and the cops don't even acknowledge me.

LOL I know what you mean.

like i said tech, he shouldn't question us...but it does look out of place, which is why he stopped. He wasn't on a power trip, he just asked.. and when we said we are drunk
so we are WALKING, he said have a nice night and drove off.

its called profiling...its illegal, but you can't not do it.

5 guys roaming the streets at 2am... ehmmmmm People roaming the streets at this time are normally up to something, i've never been stopped in broad daylight doing the same thing.

its just the reality of what it is... we are people... people that run into the same shit day after day from the same people form profiles. When clean cut white guys start car jacking and shooting people on a daily basis...........you know......

I agree it creates distrust, and shitty situations. As i've said before, normal peoples interactions with police are 2 ways... getting a ticket, or getting thrown in the back of a car in cuffs. I'd like to see police out and about interacting and making relationships with the areas they patrol, people would trust and report more crime... win win.

Not enough police...way to much space..... will never happen i suppose.

But 99% of the people that get into a jam with cops, its because they forgot how to say "no, sir, yes, sir....etc" being polite defuses tension QUICK.
You could have fuck cops tattooed on your face but if you are calm and respectful all is fine 99.9% of the time.

I get what you're saying, but cops should have control over their emotions. If you get into more trouble than you normally would because you weren't happy and cheery with a cop, then the cop got butt hurt that you didn't respect his authority. But cops are assholes to us because they deal with shit, and we're assholes to cops because they give us shit. It's a never ending cycle and they each perpetuate the rift between cops and citizens.

When it comes down to it, I blame the cops 100%. The "good" ones need to hold the shitty ones accountable for their actions, which they don't. Cops cover for eachother regardless of how horrible the other cop is, and that's the real source of the problem. With budget cuts, there are PLENTY of better cops out there who are unemployed at the moment. We dont need shitty cops....it's not like theyre on the force because we dont have any better option. They're on the force because they all go out of their way to protect eachother whenever any of them step out of line.

We shouldn't have to tip toe around cops just because they get their feelings hurt when people don't want to put up with the bullshit that they caused in the first place.

Another part of the problem is, normal people really don't even know their rights, or even how to exerciser them.

If people knew what police can and can't do and under what situations they can and can't do it...while knowing how to exercise their rights without ticking off cops
that would be great!

The ACLU actually makes such videos and they are awesome, everyone should watch them.

In fact.....if a cop is abusing his power, contact the ACLU!! no matter what you think about the ACLU...if you are tossed in jail and in a screwed situation...they'd be my 1st call.
They'll fight for your rights even if you have a body in your backyard lolol

holy shit... i've actually worn the gear teeth off my bike!!! my chain started jumping a few rides ago and i've been hunting the problem... gave it a good clean down
and another ride....nope. started really looking at the gear teeth and chain and PHUCK, the chain has stretched so much it won't even sit on the teeth right anymore.

The gears have worn to sharp points....instead of the stubby flat they should be.

I know its def a chain...just hoping I don't have to swap 2 gear sets as well...and if I do......im going for more SPEED! 35 is my top and only cause I run outa gear damn it!

MEH... i've been a huge GT fan forever..and my MTB is a GT....but i pretty much got the last year model before they got moved over to china!

Something happened in the early 00's and lots of awesome makes got purchased by this big ass chinese company and the quality of all the bikes went to walmart levels...which is why mongoose is now sold in WAL MART

Haro is about the only icon BMX MTB maker from the 90's that survived....which is what I got the wife.

I really hunted for a GT road bike but you gota spend the bux to get something made on this side of the ocean.

for road bikes... go specialized, hands down

if you are looking for a full carbon frame

http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/road/tarmac
http://www.specialized.com/us/en/news/rider-first

take your pic...full carbon frame with prices ranging from whatever you wanna add. Tarmac elite..same price and I can assure you that bike will be a missile, i've ridden a tarmac and its fucking fast.

I didn't need a full carbon frame...cause im riding all over everyday..and carbon frames will beat you up.

http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/road/allez

aircraft alum, carbon forks, its still beats you up but its just a little less harsh.

im hooked on specialized... just a really great bike, that takes insane amount of miles without any bullshit.. I can't believe i've put so many miles on this thing the chain doesn't even fit right anymore.

not in the road bike world LOL 9 - 10k is big bux, but you really don't need anything like that unless you are racing for $$$

I wouldn't spend 5k on a GT.. or even 2500... Just can't trust their build quality anymore :-( That and any model base model tarmac will run rings around a 5k GT..... sad, then when your bike does malfunction and you gota have it serviced, no shops carry anything for them anymore, so its mail order and wait wait wait. Nobody deals GTs anymore so when it breaks its a big bitch. My MTB sat in the shop for 10 days waiting on 1 part.

I scare passengers
Hmm I have heard Beats are ridiculously slanted towards the bass side. I had no idea they were getting that expensive, that is ridiculous.

I have a $30 set of Turtle Beaches on my head right now. :ha

hmm, i'd go with Specialized even in MBT, i've riden one Demo 7 and another one that i forgot, with suspension only in the front wheel. And both were great.

And well, you can always try with Orbea or Cannondale, at least, in Spain both have good fame.

About the german bike market... i don't know shit, only that where i work there are "smart bikes"

And about Beats... overpriced shit.
I'm pretty sure that my 20$ Sennheiser are as good as their 200$ headphones.

Beats by Dre are actually pretty good..... IF they were to cost $30. In the $200 range, Denon's completely dominate them.

my 13 year old nephew is on his 2nd pair of Beats in 2 years.....first pair was in perfect condition, it just wasn't "cool" to have a wire so he upgraded to the bluetooth or something. and they were no where near $200, try around $350
