The dealership just called me, and said the previous owner of my car left the factory wheels with them, and I came and picked them up. Cool, I can sell them. |

Congratulations Illivas.. I hear that you can control the exhaust opening yourself now without needing a mild to wild switch on the C7s. Welcome to the large displacement, torquey , sometimes a 4 cylinder V8 club. |

I didn't realize your car didn't have factory wheels on it.... Nice!! I just think its cool they ironed out the DoD, they really were tuning it out of most cars that had it (aftermarket tuners), and were returning better mileage. Full array of house pictures. Escrow funds sent this morning and the house is off realtor.com now, guess its really happening.

A lot of the improvements made for the Gen V V8 were in relation to AFM's failings with the Gen IV V8 due to NVH among other issues. For instance the MDS in my car is considerably more active than any of the Gen IV LSx V8s. The Gen V V8 Tahoe I drove recently was not as active as the MDS in my car but far more active than the previous GMT900 SUVs with AFM, and a Gen IV V8. |

It has black replica z51 wheels on it now. I like them. I haven't really compared DoD with and without, but with DoD, I'm pretty happy with it.

Use that logic to put a C7 in your parking lot.

It's somewhere around 1200 rpm at 75mph in 7th gear., with DoD on top of that.

look up wheel weights, replica wheels are always kinda porky. Your OEM wheels might shave some rotating lbs |

thats just another way imports use gearing to make up for the lack of power......mustangs also do the same thing. then no so smart people think their 200hp car is faster and more high tech cause it can run with a 300hp car for 2.5 seconds. EPA didn't let V8s get away with this... little 4clys could run around with 4.11 ratios all day long...that is why we had SKIP shift in the manuals. they had better ratios but in order to please the EPA we had to go from 1st to 3rd. tech has got better and now they finally figured out how the V8s can have the gears and the power to be faster on top of faster.... while meeting the EPA rules of not using any gas or making ANY noise 99% of the time (butterfly valves) Edited by sn00zie, Mar 9 2015, 09:32 AM.

Even worse, it was 1st to 4th! Haha madness, skip shift eliminator was one of the first mods I did to the car. Hell didn't even need the technology, with the double overdrive and nothing fancy my 4.11 geared car will knock down mid 20's on the highway. Not as impressive as 450hp+ at 30mpg but that is where modern day has provided the miracles. ![]() I'm waiting everyday for an Alan broken parts post to show up on Facebook...... |

I tried to look up the wheel weights of my wheels but I couldn't find them. However, my wheels retail for $1k vs. $2k for the real deal z51s. I will probably buy some nice aftermarket ones in the future once my SC is done. |
