If you like a car, get it. Who gives a shit what anyone else has/likes? |

My friends are very open with allowing me to drive. So I may be able to get quite a C7 fix by doing that. Plus I like to be different, and when you have a friend that has built a car exactly like you would it makes that part of it hard. Ultimately the C7 is a harder choice because it only has two seats more than anything. |

This car is a bitch to work on. I started the process of installing headers for the car, just the heat shield for the X-pipe for the car was 25 bolts. The actual headers are so hard to access. The bolts are pretty much impossible to get to without completely stripping the engine bay. This stuff is way harder than it needs to be. I installed a factory rear spoiler, and z06 front grill last night, and that was way harder than it needed to be. I shouldn't have to completely remove the front fascia to install the grill, and the front was also a nightmare to take off. The rear spoiler wasn't bad, but if there wasn't a detailed how-to online, I would of never figured it out just from using the service manual pdfs. I'm missing the old days of working on the imports, life was simple and easy back then. |

I also hate how hard fog lights are to get to, and how hard lights are to replace in certain cars. |

Here is the way I see it, you can't have things both ways. For years people bitched about GM's quality. Now no one goes oh my C7 is a rattle trap POS! Going to be a tradeoff though to get that result. Like 25 bolts in a heat shield.

I would gladly skin all my knuckles to have a C7 to work on! |

I feel like they are making cars so that the average DIY person will now go to the dealer. For instance I was having a wind noise issue with the panoramic roof on my SRX, and they refused to give me the relearn code for it to recognize any adjustments made. Took me a while online to find it, and this is after the dealer said they adjusted it which I knew they did not. Almost like they hope the average DIYer will just give up, and go to the dealer. |

i think we've all been feeling that way ever since the mid 90's when they kept getting more and more computerized and jam packed in there. Its like they make things as if they are daring you to take a wrench to it. |

All of the European makes including BMW have done this for years. Apparently now US manufacturers want to do this as well. I owned a RX400h that you can not do the brakes on period. Only the dealer can. |

Still working on the header install. Hopefully, I should be done today. I'm having issues getting the X-pipe aligned with the headers. |

Btw. Headers from TSP for camaros $450. Headers for corvette from same company $1000. Other companies charge $1800 for headers. I can't imagine that the headers cost more to make. |

The Corvette tax, it is for real. I can now get stainless headers for my car at $250. I really need to save up some pennies and get rid of these ancient pacesetters. |

That's ridiculous. $250 is a fair price though. $1800 is price gouging.

Well to be fair, his car has been out for 21 years, so I would imagine there are an abundance of parts for it. Hah...I found a picture of the heatsheild you were talking about...that does look like a pain in the ass. I used to get pissed when I had to drop the 4 screw skid plate to change my oil.
