Just gota ride the old 747 out of that airport So we are flying into good old run down newark and riding a nice new 777.

They always say over the intercom to turn off your wifi, and cellular devices while in the air. It supposedly messes up the navigation equipment. I looked up the mythbusters episode where they test it, and their findings say that it's only with older planes, but the FCC still does not allow it. http://mythbustersresults.com/episode49 |

Yeah, the newer ones do.... I haven't been lucky enough to catch a new plane yet though. I'm normally on the relics... Edited by ilivas, May 15 2012, 12:24 PM.

who do you fly? i've flown enough that if figured out who flys what where. Im going to newark for the sole purpose of catching a 777, if i fly out of chi i get stuck on a 747 and i HATE that old plane, they show moves on a freaking flim strip screen haahhh. I have to fly a tin can to the newark though... little 50 seat thing, it sucks |

I don't use anyone specifically, I normally default to deal sites to find the best price. However, I have a ton of US airways, and Delta flyer miles so I normally use them. I should probably start checking which plane I will be flying though, I've always just went with the lowest prices. |

yea i normally only fly delta for domestic stuff, quick hop to atlanta then wherever you go from there is on a 737... if its upgraded or not is a crap shoot. only 2 airlines will fly you to asia and not bounce you around to japan or korea, united and continental... well they are now 1, so you can fly the old CO routes or the united routes, im flying the old CO cause the 747 are old as dirt. It was cool riding on that big mother but I won't do it again if I have the choice. I guess also 4 engines gives you more peace of mind too... as the 777 only has 2 big huge things. I'll pay a little more to get a nice direct route cause after being on a plane for so long the last thing you wanna do is get dumped off in some other country, fumble around a new airport, have another wait...then get BACK on a plane.

Hit preferences at the top, and then update profile. Click change board settings, and there is an option there to change that. |

So I went out to the Indy 500 track with my dad and a bunch of his old buddies to tail gate and watch them practice and not only do they look weird but they sound totaly different now. They got the turbo engines in them now and dont sound like the high reving N/A engines of last year. |
