Yeah it's a pain in the ass to remove window tints. The GTO came with em when I bought it and they're illegal to have on the front windows in IL so I removed them. The first window i did was terrible because i was told by a friend "oh yeah its easy, just pull them off." Well that was complete BS haha. The second window was a lot better. The best method that I came up with, was to take a razor blade and very ..VERY carefully cut the tints into about 2 inch wide strips all the way across the window. Then take a hairdryer to it and heat it up nice and good, then just kind of pull the tint straight down back onto it self so it kind of "rolls" off the window. I found if you pulled it straight off the window it would leave residue more often. Use the hairdryer throughout the process...you dont have to get it really hot..just warm enough so the glue is a little softer. |

Nothing...it's a terrible state. But on the bright side, they don't do any visual, or sniffer tests for emissions like California does. So when you go get your car inspected, they just plug into the OBDII (or whatever computer you have) and scan it for engine codes. If everything checks out, they pass you and let you go. I know a lot of LS guys that run cattless exhausts, as well as whatever the hell else they do that's illegal and they just go into the ECU and shut of those engine codes. |

On the bright side we do inspections just like every other state except Communist California. At least you're optimistic about it. :p |

FL laws were awesome. Now if someone could just turn the oven down 10-15 degrees all year, I'll move back without hesitation. ![]() I used a hair dryer, but things just didn't go smoothly. Probably if I had precut them into pieces it would have gone better, I hadn't thought of that though. Also it was two layers, I'm thinking the kid slapped the really dark tint over previous minor tint. Edited by camar0corey, Mar 5 2013, 09:52 AM.

I remember when Florida was the first to have stand your ground laws, then every other state followed suit after that Edited by ilivas, Mar 5 2013, 02:12 PM.

Finally pulled the trigger on a new car! Well...new to me. It's my Grandfathers old Crown Vic I mentioned a little while ago. My parents have been in Fort Meyers for 2 months, and they came over to my grandparents old place in Port Charlotte for a week or two just to wait out the last of the shitty weather before returning to Chicago. I flew down for a couple days to hang out with them and drive it back this weekend. Car is in a lot better shape than I thought it was which is awesome. Interior is pretty much flawless other than a few spots on the cloth seats that should come out with some carpet cleaner or something. Body has a lot of little scratches, but only a few of them are deep enough to not be buffed out. Ill probably get a few of them professionally fixed since they have slight signs of rust and I want to stop that. but they're pretty small so whatever. I love the car tho. It was my grandpas and we were pretty close so it's kinda cool to have his old whip. Plus it was a Grandpa car so it was driven like a grandpa and never abused so it runs great and had all the service done on it throughout the years. 109k miles and I paid $2500 for it...cant really beat that.

Funny on the sheet, I just try to fold it like a normal sheet and it is what it is, fits in the closet so whatever. I like how she states it is one of the more challenging things in one's life, people must have very boring un-challenging existences?Nice deal Tommy! Looks really clean and you really can't beat the price to the mileage/condition of the car. |
