I mean with stock stuff kicking around a lot of things suck, but yeah I seem to get cut up pretty good whenever working on things. I tend to wear gloves all the time now.:ha I've removed so much useless stuff, and with longtubes, plugs aren't bad anymore, etc.... Also with my car not really exposed to salt things come off usually without too much trouble, although the passenger side shock mount area was a lot rustier than the driver side, one Bilstein got cut out of the shock mount at shock/spring time last month.

I haven't really hurt myself much on my car but you have to be really really really good at working on shit and not being able to see it. Plugs aren't bad if you have help but you will NEVER see anything you are working on... you feel like a blind person performing car maint. I know my plugs are there but i've never laid eyes on them. |

Whew, not a whole lot going on around in here! What are you all up to this summer with your rides?! I know I shouldn't be one to talk, but I did get around to a few things. Ordered 5 directional LEDS a few weeks ago, got them installed tonight. I now have even lighting across my whole gauge cluster, versus the one directional LEDS I installed a few years back. One thing there, they say they are polarized and damage can happen if installed backwards. Granted they also won't light if installed backwards. I think I got them all installed the right way, towards the end though everything was kind of bright! I also finally am rid of the stock Bose speakers! I will post pics of how those look after 18 years. I don't know why I read threads on tech about needing crossovers, amps, etc.... I think it is clear and plenty loud how it is with just HU, new wiring directly to the speakers. Alpine HU that I've had for awhile right to a pair of Alpine Type S speakers. I guess most people on tech have more than two speakers though. It can get way louder than I would ever listen to it before it distorts, hell I don't even know when it will distort, I was already at uncomfortable levels when testing it, which is funny because at volume 18, where I would need the Bose speakers at to hear it while going down the road, it is so much louder now, and it is nice to have a always working passenger speaker.

So yeah, guess it isn't really a mystery anymore why my interior fan made so much racket. ![]() ![]() Old speaker stuff. As you can see the Bose speakers have for sure seen better days. I also got to lose the amps out of this deal and the stupid convertor box that allowed them to work with aftermarket HU's. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() New stuff, Alpine Type S. ![]() ![]() I'll have some pictures up of my renovated dash pad shortly. It can't turn out any worse than last time.

Deleted the rear sub sometime last year when I had the car all apart. So just the two door speakers, two WORKING speakers. ![]() It is all I need, you'll have to check it out next time I'm up, its stupid loud, louder than I'll ever listen to.

So for some reason the passenger side speaker isn't working again?! Seriously, WTF? Maybe its the HU? If I feel like it I might pull the door panel sometime in the next week, the window was touching the wires on that side a little, but I did solder them to the speaker so I can't believe they would have come off, but maybe? |

Due to added weight of a head unit, wiring, and speakers? Or that the car is insanely loud?

Speaker mystery solved, the negative wire came off the speaker. I have to laugh at my soldiering job as the culprit. ![]() Also couldn't find my soldiering iron, or soldier. There went a few bucks! When did soldier get so damn expensive?! |

Haha maybe you can finally get the proper trans tune loaded up at the same time, or are you still undecided on that? |

word on the street is add some lucus trans additive crap and that clears it up... i've actually just learned how to drive it different. nobody has ever lost a trans to this issue its just more annoying then anything... the vue doesn't have the weight to be able to actually harm anything. tupperware on wheels! |

I just lowballed some guy for 2 parts that I recently sold. Driving this car close to stock sucks. I'm at least putting an air-intake, Turbo Inlet, and short-throw back in. That shits easy peasy to take out if this poopbox ever sells. On the other hand, the wife and I decided on a 2010+ CTS wagon (no V...sadly) for our next car (instead of the A6, thank god). Then we'll sell her jeep and I'll buy something irresponsible next fall, hopefully. In other, other news...I'm going to replace the cabin air filter this weekend. What an effing joke that is. like a 45min job. I have to remove an absurd amount of things for this. I'll get the intake/tip/sts comined in faster than this. Thanks mazda/ford. |
