Cabin air filter? hahah I'm hoping the Z28 doesn't have one, although if it did it might help explain why my A/C fan, even after being cleaned out, still is only so so. I'm not hot by any means in my car, but in other people's cars it feels like an ice box. Hmmm...

was replacing the rear rotors/pads on the wife's jeep last weekend...holy rusted to shit...and it's an 07. my car is an 07 also and doesn't look even close to as bad. Regardless, I get the effing rotors off (after much cursing and "star-wheel" adjusting) and the damn e-brake pads literally fall apart. Pad falls off the bracket. hmmm

I call around and of course no one stocks them and they are like 50-70+ dollars...w.t.f. activate intertubez, rockauto, $8. Absurd that people pay shops/"parts stores" the retarded amount they charge for simple, common, cheap things.

Anyway, I was having visions of drum brakes when looking at the layout/springs/clips etc...but it was pretty straightforward. The ridiculous amount of rust, however, did not help and I thought for sure I was going to snap one of those little retaining springs in half. It was dark outside and let me tell you...even if I only work on a car in the dark one more time in my life...I'm going to buy one of those head-band lights today. Sure I'll feel like a coal miner...but I'm completely done effing around with flashlights.

Have more tomorrow.

Truck details:
252k miles
4.8, 5 speed trans.
Rubber floor, no power windows, no power locks, no cruise contro l(I am going to probably regret that part) Pretty much a no option truck.
Pretty much stock, has a level kit for the rear, yukon coils, even still has the stock airbox and radio. Kind of crazy.
Looks like it got tires about 8k miles ago, have some glovebox paperwork to shuffle through. Kid claims the brakes were done recently.
Might be leaking power steering fluid, might have to have clutch hydraulic fluid flushed
Acquired for $3k.

Sold the MS3 a few weeks back. went with something...sensible...(read: no ctsv).

As much as i want a V, I'd be spending thousands on parts in a matter of a month. I mean, I didn't even own the car yet and had my path planned out. fuck, i have only had my new car for a few weeks and I'm looking at exhausts. That is one of the very reasons I went with this car...there is just about ZERO after market support...meaning I can't buy a bunch of stuff. I have no self control and I can't change that; I've accepted it. So now I'm just stepping around that fact.

aaaand my new car is...all of you red-blooded 'mericans should love it

A SMART FOUR-2!!

no

it's a 2009 Genesis 4.6L
375 Korean HP (300 american HP)
333 Korean TQ (265 american TQ)
it's the biggest car i've ever owned...although the 70 'maro was big, it was mostly just the firewall forward ha. it's got WAY more luxury than I'm used to and I'm digging it. HATE an automatic, but plus side is wife can drive me around when I want. it's nice and smooth and is a great daily for the family. wife, kids + all their crap is no issue at all and still a ton of room on the inside (the trunk is gigantic).

It is most cerainly a full-size car.

fast forward 5 years...I really want an LS7. I've been enamored with the mystical "427" since a child. So, I'm either buying a C6 Z06 or just buying an LS7 and stuffing it into something small...like a solstice.

In good Camaro news, solid pinion spacer installed, new pinion seal. Violent bucking when getting out of power? Gone. Low RPM cruising improved. Seems the backlash on the pinion was not tight at all, pretty sloppy! It also got a little quieter from the rear, but hey they are 4.11's, they will never be silent.

I wouldn't mind trying to paint a car myself. That's something I have never done.
