I think I'm at the point where I can breathe sorta easy. The motor isn't over the top really, and everything that can break easy has been replaced now. I'll start worrying when I start spraying it.

Not so bad now that I have a daily. Now it is just fun to take the Z28 out once a week or so. Have the Draglites on it at the moment though so I can get around to painting my ZR1s, so not even really driving the car right now. The rake does not work all that great with the roads around here. ![]()

Ah come on Matt, you know damn well the mod bug will eventually bite again...... Speaking of the title of this thread, well I guess if I have time this week I am going to start tearing the Camaro down. Suppose it is time to give this motor a full exam and figure out WTF that sound is....... Going to pull the intake manifold and heads, leave the transmission in the car. I usually waste so much time trying to get the torque arm back in the mount. Probably take me less time to get the motor back on the transmission once it has been gone through. If the rings are good, they will be re-gapped for boost. If they are worn rings good for boost will be going in. Cam specs will be gone over to see if it is boost friendly, if it looks like it will cost me a decent chunk of power, I will replace it also. |
