That's awesome. I haven't been much into HT lately though since I've been doing a ton of clay shooting. |

Do they only make road bikes? It seems like this is the brand to get for bikes, but I was wondering if they do mountain bikes too? |

cannondale good.... GT, ugh.. I love my GT, I've always loved GT's but back in the early 00 some big ass company started buying up the small quality builders like GT and diamondback. thats why you now see diamonbacks and mongooses in walmart and when we were kids those were like badass BMX bikes every kid wanted. same happend to GT, Mine is pre-buy out so its like bulletproof quality and im never getting rid of it. You can get quality GT stuff still but you gota go into the elite price range race shit. I wanted to pick up a GT 5 series road bike but I can't find a dealer cause nobody will carry them now since 90% of what they produce is garbage...then they even cheaped out and didn't even do the triple triangle frame on most models (except the high stuff) which makes zero sense... I cryed..... then picked up the specialized. Im still a super GT fan but agh crap! novara, hunks of shit....... surprisingly high priced for a hunk of shit as well. Im riding a older Novara and it's been in the bike shop 3 times only due to the fact her father let me borrow it! LOL 4 broken spokes 2 bent rims 3 tire tubes flat- I will never opt for the PRESTA valve on tubes they FUCKING SUCK DICK! even Specalized Tire tubes with that bullshit valve FLAT.. They leak everytime right around that presta valve at the bottom they tear right at it. Went with schrader and never looked back! No flats |

ilivas- you looking for a mountain bike, Road bike or just anything? Check out Santa Cruz if you are looking for a Mtn bike or downhill. I read some reviews about Santa Cruz they come in right behind specialized bikes, They stated that specialized used alot of proprietary parts only to be bought thru them wich ups the price. That statement came off a forum that has alot of hardcore Mtn bikers weather its true or not IDK. I do know when you get into the price range of a full suspension bike it beter be fking amazing in all aspects no matter what! I also hear if you buy a Hardtail bike you will be disappointed you did not buy a full suspension. Brother told me that LOL. |

Yep. Mountain bike. Got a bunch of mountains (Appalachian) here and I need something that can survive rugged trails. |

I remember what you told me, but I haven't decided because I'm waiting for some type of huge clearance which is why I'm trying to figure out which brands to look out for. I'm trying to get a better bang for the buck. |

Any one of those will take a beating with a smile and last you probably until you are old and sick of riding. I remember you saying you had crap for bike shops around you, If you want I can look around the shops around me sometimes they have year old models at a nice discount, i'll set it aside and get you the contact info you can do CC over the phone and they can pack insure and ship it to you. |

I don't mind paying for quality, but if I can get something better for the same money, I'd rather do that. This is why I'm patiently waiting, and researching. I'm a deal hunter it's what I do. As of right now, REI has a 25% off clearance going on of Novara, Raleigh, Cannondale, Marin, GT, and Scott bikes. If I am able to stack a 20% off on top of that, it would be at a pretty good discount. Dick's had some good clearances recently as well. Mostly Diamondback's and Giants though. I'm just trying to be patient, and wait for the right one. I have plenty of bike shops around me, I was just waiting on something for slickdeals first to find something heavily discounted. Mom, and pops places like we have around here very rarely discount very much. Edited by ilivas, Aug 22 2012, 06:47 PM.
