I think Jon Jones may be worse off than Chael Sonnen at this point...

I don't care what they try to tell me. Even with 2-3 more fights, Stephan Struve is destroyed by Jon Jones. It's probably in Hendo's best interest that he was hurt for that fight. Jones absolutely crushes Hendo. Brutally. The only person I want to see jones fight is Silva, at this point. But I think even Silva is smart enough to know he doesn't want any of that. He's sticking with on overmatched (IMO) GSP. I think Silva easily picks GSP apart on standup and is too strong/long to get held down by GSP when taken down. IDK how GSP wins that fight, honestly.

I will, however, give GSP the conit fight. I like Carlos, but I still think GSP beats him.

I'll be watching it...

I just read today that Rhonda Rousey, and Liz Carmouche will be headlining UFC 157. First women's UFC fight. It will be good. Rhonda is a pretty exciting fighter.

um ok so im watching it cause its on TV and im wanted the little guy to win but ouch. I didn't like how the big guy show boated with the leg dance and arm drops but the little dood didn't go on the attack at all.

and I know they call this MMA? but do any of them know any art? its like they all fight the same, when some of this stuff is avoidable.

its like punch like a boxer and kickboxing... kinda... but not really... with some wresting.........

its werid.

BJ probably gassed out. He looked tired. Most likely an adrenalin dump.

The main event is gonna be nasty.

this just looks like street fighting.

if you back someone up to the fence back off and fight them in the open.......

how come nobody does the ring against the opponents strong side? they all show their strong fighting angle.... dance opposite...

this just looks like budlight drunk brawl

=====-=======

the BJ guy got winded early and totally showed it by blocking stuff that covering up for things that weren't coming... hello im a punching bag.... heres i'll prove it.

What you're seeing on the fence is wrestling, and its a tactic to tire your opponent out. Wrestling is a very popular base for MMA.

If you're a very good ground fighter, you use your wrestling to get your opponent to the ground.

It's not choreographed like in movies, it's real guys trying to beat each other down. Plus you have guys who train in wrestling, boxing, jui-jitsu, tae-kwon-do, boxing, etc. all at the same time. Chuck norris stuff isn't gonna work, when a fighter has mastered all the martial arts. Plus, after 15 years of MMA, we found out that wrestling is pretty much the best martial art so people try to utilize wrestling more.

If you watch the first UFC, straight karate, straight boxing, judo, or whatever does not work in a real fight. The guys that tried this got dominated.

Last nights fights kinda sucked though because there were no finishes.

There are a couple of guys that make it look good though.

http://youtu.be/AGMzmYz1KCQ

This guy is an Asian guy who was an all american wrestler who then trained in san shou/kickboxing.

God I'm so pissed that Pacquio got KTFO this weekend. It just puts the Mayweather/Pacquio fight that much farther away...assuming that Mayweather ever puts his purse down and stops being such a pussy and actually agrees to fight him. Which he won't because apparently he likes fighting washed up nobodies just to keep his perfect record in tact.

...

what? lol no finishes? I have 4 off the top of my head...scott jorgensen tapped his guy out, swick got ktfo (although he looked like a newborn calf most of the fight anyway...), cruisznick (spelling...) knocked his dude staright out with a kick to the head, and jeremy stephens got KO'd as well...

I thought nearly all the fights were good. Rory beat up Penn, as expected. Penn is too stubborn and thinks too highly of himself to take this shit seriously. The game has evolved beyond him and he is still trying the same crap he did 10 years ago. He and Rua needs to just stop if they aren't going to change their trainning/game plan. Speaking of...Gustaffson get KEEEELLLED by Jones. If Rua was able to hit him as hard, and often as he did with his whole 3 different strikes...Jones is going to take his head off.

Bendo/Diaz was a good fight too. Bendo put on a clinic. I don't see Pettis or Cerrone being able to take him at this point.

There were no finishes on the main card is what i meant. Except for swick, and that was painful to watch.

Getting hit by shogun is a lot worse than getting hit by Jones. Jones has pretty much zero knockout power at this point of his career. I think if someone is going to beat Jon Jones, it will be Dan Henderson or Gustaffson.

Yeah, that was pretty disappointing.

Pac Man is getting old though, he doesn't have much time left.

Jones tapped Rua via strikes...he's acurate. He may not have 1-punch lights-out but he certainly has 1-punch rubber legs followed by 5 more STRIKES to the face. I'm not super high on JJ, but dude will straight work hendo and the swede. Then again, belfort was able to get a good arm bar on him so who knows...not that hendo/gustafson are submission artists...

I really really like JMM, always have...but it still sucks that pac got KTFO. I couldn't care less about mayweather but I have a feeling we'll be seeing a 5th fight between pac/JMM before long.

Hendo does have one punch knock out power, and Hendo is also an olympic wrestler, who's credentials are far better than Jon Jones. Hendo's "H-bomb" right hand has found it's home in his last 6 fights or so. I'm not saying Jones will lose to Hendo, but Hendo has a damn good chance at winning. In the Rua fight, Rua was already really gassed. It wasn't exactly the power of Jon Jones that won the fight, it was weak cardio from Rua.

Now, Gustaffson has been training with Phil Davis who is one of the best wrestlers in the division, and he's already a pretty sick striker, and has been on a roll since his one loss to Phil Davis. I think he is a realistic threat to Jon Jones, more so than the guys Jones has already fought anyways, not counting Rashad Evans.

Either way, Jon Jones is fighting Chael Sonnen next so we'll see how that goes first. I'm definitely going to watch the ultimate fighter with those two coaching.

I think jones knows how to avoid the one punch that hendo has. Of course, ali said that about fraiser and look where that got him haha. Regardless, I think hendo has a really hard time getting close to jones and takes a ridiculous amount of punishment in doing so. He might be able to GnP jones if they ever get to the ground, but I think jones is too strong to be held down by hendo.

Evans has better rasslin' than davis and he didn't take jones down once. gustafson gets slaughtered.

I'll certainly be watching TUF, now that it's on Tuesdays...when people are actually home (vs fridays). But I cannot stand sonnen...so it will be interesting to see how much of him the world can take...

No way Rashad has better wrestling than Phil Davis, I know that Phil Davis isn't as good a fighter as Rashad, but Phil was a national champion, Rashad never won anything. Rashad however didn't try very hard to take down Jones though.

Sonnen is so freaking funny. He's awesome.
