Merchants are beginning to complain more loudly about the piracy issue along the southern coastline of Asia Minor, specifically in the areas of Pamphylia and Cicilia, as they make their way from the safer waters of the Aegean to the Roman province of Syria. Most sit in coves or heavily defensible rock outcroppings and assault shipping as they pass through especially if they happen to be independent or Roman. They have as yet not touched any of military ships passing through either perhaps because they lack the strength or do not want to start anything yet but all merchants are free game. This has led to an increase in price for many goods which come from the east though that has only seemed to effect publicans and those of the equestrian ranks.

Many though realize it is interesting to note that these brigands swear allegiance to the would be Seleucid king from Tarsus, Bolon I. Whether this is by his design or merely accepting whatever loyalty he can, even from the wretches of society, it is unknown.
