Word has reached Roma that there was a sizable force of brigands who claimed they were "Heroes of the Republic" outside the major cities of the province of Africa. In several locations units attacked several different locations at once and began to spread word that Macedonicus Minor had returned to urge the people to support him much as they had his father. However many of these please fell on deaf ears as the provincials who were willing to support the hero Macedonicus himself were less than inclined to support his son especially with Kaeso Iudicius still in Laniana.

For his part Kaeso Iudicius mobilized Legio V Hispania from the provincial capital of Iudicium and quickly and effectively put an end to Macedonicus' return. The brigands as a whole were not well organized save a few hundred and so were no match for the legion. Killing many and sending the others into rout only a handful escaped when it was apparent the provincials would not join them.

Many believed this was due to word of Decimus Titanius Carnfiex's continued success in Illyricum and made Macedonicus and his ilk play their hand.

While it is unclear if Macedonicus himself or other prominent rebels were amongst those killed it is now believed any stench of the Hirtian menace has been eliminated with little bloodshed and little damage from the province of Africa.

As an aside though, Sextus Antonius Syricus is rumored to be privately livid that Kaeso Iudicious allowed harm to come to the Roman captive, Basilissa Apama II as Kaeso has been adamant she was well taken care of but was a target for the rebels; killed during the minor insurrection though no body has been produced.
