The official being so very busy trying to make himself look busy so he is not seen as 'expendable' puts on an amazing performance of being a busy and irritable official. Very quick to exploit an opportunity to make himself appear to be contributing to the great cause he is quick to the point the man in the right direction. "Ah Yes his lordship has been expecting you Lu Ri! Just proceed straight through those doors over there." he pointed at the doors just a few short steps behind him. "Just mention that you have spoken to Da Bao and he will know you are the one he is expecting!" With this he made to pick up a pile of books from a nearby desk but in his haste and over-excitement knocked them all to the floor. Venting a little cry of frustration he bent over to pick them up and mumbled something about not being paid enough to work under these conditions! ooc: I just couldn't resist this when you gave me the opportunity <.< and the spelling error of Li Ru is intentional. |

OOC: Hahaha. ![]() === Li Ru quickly strode through the aforementioned doors and into Yuan Shu's presence. Li Ru gave a deep bow and, upon rising, began to speak: "Esteemed Lord Yuan Shu, my name is Li Ru, stylename Wenyou, from Heyang in the Capital Districts. Your good servant Da Bao has allowed me entry here. I come today, foremost, to present myself before you. The Han Empire is now in shambles, and dogs, in all the four corners of the land, are snatching at their so-called shares of these scraps. Pernicious foreign influences invade from the West, while petty merchants run the North. The Yuan family has been first among the ministers of government for many generations now, and no one is more famous than Yuan Shu himself, the leader of this illustrious clan!" Li Ru paused a moment for effect before continuing. "Lord Yuan Shu, I believe that the land of Cheng is the only force that can save the country from destruction. I am but a simple man who has mastered the tactics of the ancients. I'm well-versed in all types of schemes and plots, I can outwit the wisest of generals, outargue any lifeless intellectual, and my talent is sufficient to restore order wherever there is chaos. If you will allow me, noble sir, I shall dedicate all my powers to your great cause." Li Ru smiled after concluding his dramatic application, awaiting a response from the man before him. |

Yuan Shu's immediate thoughts in the mans speech was that he had no idea who this Da Bao person was. However this was quickly replaced when Li Ru explained his reason for being here and Yuan Shu could not help but recognise that this man must indeed be most wise and talented to acknowledge Yuan Shu as the greatest of all the Yuan's! Naturally such a conclusion is one only those of great intellect could arrive to. There would be no denying the great interest Yuan Shu held for the man; considering his smile was glowing at such an accurate analysis of the state of the land. Allowing a moment or two of silence to pass for dramatic effect before he allowing a small chuckle to escape before rising from his seat. He dismissed the two female servants that were behind him. He approached Li Ru a little closer, but not too close for the man had not yet gathered that much trust, but was swiftly heading in the right direction. "A most elegant and enlightening speech you have made Li Ru, with quite the remarkable entrance in not even waiting before getting straight to the point of your visit. Truly you are a wise man indeed to recognise talents such as mine, and know the current state of the land. Cheng will need the talents of many such as yourself, guided by unmatched leadership of course, if we are to succeed in replacing a decadent empire with a more powerful and authorative one to restore the natural balance." 'And allow himself to take his rightful place as ruler of the land. though he didn't voice that part.' "Considering you are indeed so very eager and a man of excellent observationald and analytical skills. I would be a fool to refuse your offer, wouldn't you agree?" Chuckling a little at his rhetorical question. "Very well then, Master Li Ru I bestow upon you the greatest privileges in entering into my service. Let it be known I expect from you many great things and should you fail to deliver... well I do not take disappointment very well as i'm sure you can understand when I have such an important undertaking that must be successful. I very much doubt, however, that one with your talents would ever disappoint so you need not concern yourself too much with that." |

Li Ru bowed graciously. "Lord Yuan Shu, I thank you for the generous appointment. The tales of your perception and wise leadership are very true indeed. I gratefully accept your noble command: I suspect you will not be disappointed. Consider me at your call in all situations." === OOC: Sent you a short PM and applied for the Cheng group. Huzzah! |

With the two armed guards escorting him and no doubt keeping an eye on him, Ju Kuai continued on his way to where the council chamber was. Usually having guards behind you was seen to be quite intimidating, but Ju Kuai passed it by, afterall, it did mean extra security for him, even if they didn't know a thing about him nor did he know a thing about them, admittingly not so much about their Lord either since they were new to this land, but he like his Queen had skills in other places than mere politics. Entering the council chamber, he allowed the guards to escort him to meet with Yuan Shu. As suggested by the guards, Ju Kuai followed their instructions to the letter, as he then gave a bow as a gesture of respect though not as low as he would to his Queen, before presenting himself, "I am Ju Kuai, humble servant to my Queen, Cai Wengi", which in itself would suggest that he was not from here as the name was no doubt unrecognisable unless the Chinese did look into what was beyond their borders. "My purpose here is to meet with you Lord Yuan, for you seem to have perked my Queen's interest", ending his statement there to see how Yuan Shu would respond... |

For once Yuam Shu had been rather busy in arranging important details. Details concerning plans he was putting into place soon, however, the arrival of the newcomer certainly captured his attention. He could also not help but notice the look of surprise on his guards faces. Perhaps they were unaware as to who this person had been? Recovering himself somewhat from the notion of capturing the interests of another Queen, he rose gracefully from the throne that had recently been finalized and installed with the council chamber to his liking. He waved his hand and the two guards that had escorted the man positioned themselves at the entrance of the chamber standing guard. He proceeded until he stood in front of the man and fixed him with a look of interest. "Your name is Ju Kuai and you represent a Queen, you say?" He let out a small chuckle "Well it seems my day just got rather interesting." He returned to the throne but gestured to servants to bring refreshments and a chair to be placed near Yuan Shu for their guest. "No doubt it has been a long Journey for you then. There are no Queen's to my knowledge so please have a seat. It would be rather cruel of me to have you stand for what will inevitably be a long discussion. I would very much like to hear who your 'Queen' is." Edited by Yuan Shu - Curt, Sep 14 2013, 05:00 PM.

Upon announcing himself per the guards' instructions, Ju Kuai paid close attention to this Yuan Shu as he rose from his throne and stood before him, "Your name is Ju Kuai and you represent a Queen, you say? Well it seems my day just got rather interesting", ending with a chuckle as he returned to his throne. If the man thought he was telling lies, then he would some come to realise the truth when Cai Wengi makes her move, Yuan Shu for his ignorance being made to bow before her. Though he was probably getting ahead of himself with such thoughts since it seemed he wished to know more about Cai Wengi after arranging a seat for him which he took thankfully, for it had been a long trek from Wu Wei to visit Yuan Shu in Ru Nan. Would the journey be worth it all? only time and "a long discussion" will show. As far as ignorance goes, he could hardly argue that when he was unaware of who Yuan Shu was, but he certainly did not seem to be of a royal status as his Queen and nor did the close proximity to him earlier make him flinch at all, nor did his figure fear him. Cai Wengi's figure was certainly enticing but it could also be beastly, a rose with very sharp thornes. Of course, it didn't always start this way, but it all had started with rejection before all hell broke loose in Fu which caused Cai Wengi to rebel, as man after man fell before her. At this moment, Yuan Shu was just another man like the other men that rose to prominence, but what Cai Wengi wished to find out was which of these men stuck out more, and now it seemed Yuan Shu wished to find out about Cai Wengi, such that he would oblige. "My thanks Lord Yuan", giving a gesture of thanks before proceeding, "As you would like to hear about my Queen, I too would like to hear about you", afterall such was the reason he was here in the first place and failure to do so was not an option. "The reason you may not of heard of my Queen is because she is not a Queen of your land" or at least not yet, "To the northwest to the west of your land lies the Qiang provinces, but to the north of Xi Bei lies the rich and fertile province of Fu, it is in this land that my Queen rules. Her name is Cai Wengi...", giving a basic background since he no doubt wished to be bored to death by her rise to power and how she has dominated men, certainly was not the best start, and he was here for information so it was only fair that he return some also. |

Yuan Shu could not help but feel slightly disappointed over the brief summary given of Cai Wengi. However, he was well aware of the game that was about to be played. It was a common one played all the time in Han Court. The sharing of information for another information. The knowledge of a person and their secrets was enough to damage anyone beyond repair if used correctly, afterall. He gestured to the servants who arrived with wine for both he, and Ju Kuai, to approach. In addition for Ju Kuai was some fresh bread for which he could eat if he so desired. A more lavish meal may follow for him depending on how things went. The whine was poured into two golden cups and the whine itself a shade of red closely resembling that of blood. "The lady Cai Wengi is the Queen of Fu you say? One cannot help but wonder what business she has here and why I should be so willing to reveal details about one as important as I am. Afterall, her intentions are a mystery to me and she may be posing a threat to the dynasty itself." At this he took a rather large gulp of the rich wine. Letting out a satisfied sigh as he tasted it. He did so love his wine. "You wish to know about me. The basics is this, I wish to seize power and bring about the land under a new rule. I command a high level of respect and influence in what remains of a shattered Han Dynasty, power and influence that are only befitting of the greatest the noble house of Yuan has to offer." At this he fixed his gaze on Ju Kuai. "I will take what I have to and kill who I must." At this he gestured the servants to stand near the guards. This way they could be summoned should more refreshments be required. "Perhaps now I've told you the kind of person I am. You would be so generous as to divulge the same of your Queen. Do try the wine by the way, it is my favourite and would love to hear your opinion on that too." Edited by Yuan Shu - Curt, Sep 14 2013, 05:51 PM.

It was one thing to know about Cai Wengi, but it was another thing altogether to actually know Cai Wengi and the way she worked. There was afterall only so much that Ju Kuai could reveal, as despite being a loyal servant for Cai Wengi, he was a single servant among others, Qin Ta being the chief attendant who served Cai Wengi more. It was Qin Ta who had been at Cai Wengi's side when she first rebelled and served her from the very beginning. Many underestimated the capabilities of Cai Wengi but in the end, those who opposed her fell one by one as her rise to power came closer to closer in fire and blood. Many felt women were weak, but now in the lands of Fu she had been making changes and also ensuring that women that were capable of fighting would be trained to do so. Women's work was certainly not going to remain domesticated while under her rule. Despite her successes, it seemed the opportunity to play in China was too good to miss, the reason that had brought him before Yuan Shu today as he studied his face after answering his question of who his Queen was, nothing more and nothing less. "The lady Cai Wengi is the Queen of Fu you say? One cannot help but wonder what business she has here and why I should be so willing to reveal details about one as important as I am", Yuan Shu replied, no doubt growing more and more curious about Cai Wengi. However, this was not all that Ju Kuai had gathered in his time here, especially how he referred to how important he is which he couldn't exactly agree with since he was no King or Emperor so therefore Cai Wengi outranked him, yet he still made a point of it even with the knowledge of his Queen, interesting... It was then, following a gulp of wine, that Yuan Shu decided to reveal his intentions of how he wished to seize power, even if he was hesitant before of how he would reveal details when he knew little of Cai Wengi, yet he did so anyway. As to why he decided to let him in on his plans, was it arrogance? or merely enjoys the sound of his voice? either way he seemed an ambitious man but in the end, it is those with great power and strength that would be able to fulfill such ambitions. Yuan Shu apparently has power and influence through his noble family from what he had gathered in his statement, but it was his end statement that intrigued him the most, "I will take what I have to and kill who I must" which clearly showed that the man would use what means he must to achieve his ambition. There was always however a method behind his madness as he then requested that he tell her more about Cai Wengi, as well as offering wine which Ju Kuai obliged to as he picked up the wine goblet and raised to his lips as he savoured the taste. "That...is simply...divine, such a rich flavour", he commented in response, conveying the idea that he only accepted the best, complimenting his previous statement of how he was most fitting to bring the land under a new rule by being "the greatest the noble house of Yuan has to offer", yet would a man who felt he was the most important man in the land wish to open the doors for a woman who was of a higher station than him, it was questionable. Despite their standings, there was a significant similarity between Yuan Shu and Cai Wengi which Ju Kuai would point out, "No doubt such a rich wine was created by rich ingredients, that such a taste cannot be replicated so easily unless the key rich ingredient was present, where no other would fit or it would alter the taste of the wine. No doubt the same theory applies to the fate of this land, but alas, I digress...", instead allowing his words to be digested by Yuan Shu. However, sometimes the fate of the land required a new wine as Ju Kuai now proceeded to speak of his Queen, "You wished to know more of my Queen and I shall oblige, for there are similarities between your esteemed self and my Queen...", once again allowing his words to be savoured before proceeding. "For it is your shattered Han Dynasty that interested my Queen, for the lands of Fu was divided, much like this land in its current state before my Lady rose to power to unite it, for she too commands respect and values strength and power. As far as her ambition goes, I cannot be sure as I am just a mere servant, but what I am certain of is if my Queen has decided to come to this land, it must be for some purpose that she will see through to the end, for like you, she will use whatever means necessary to fulfil her desires", he finished. Clearly by his explanation, it would convey the strength that Cai Wengi possessed for she certainly was not like other women who could only fulfill domestic tasks, for on the contrary she could do tasks that men could do even better. However, it was questionable of how Yuan Shu would see of, as to whether she would be a possible acquaintance for him or a possible hindrance. So far however, it seemed that Yuan Shu had a plan in mind which he was determined to fulfill. Ju Kuai took another sip of the wine before asking, "You seem to be a very capable man Lord Yuan Shu, but it seems that you are not the only one who is making a stand in these troubled times, so if I may be so bold to ask, what makes you more capable of bringing the land under your rule than other rulers? and if you were to bring the land under your rule, what sort of a land do you envision in your reign, or would you restore the Han with the influence that you have in it?". Afterall, it was clear to Cai Wengi that the lands' government was dysfunctional, so she would be curious if Lord Yuan Shu desire for power was to create his own Dynasty or restore the old. The response of which he would pass onto Cai Wengi along with the reports of the other attendants to help her decide her course of action. |
