Yuan Shu listened to Ju Kuai intently, absorbing every word spoken. Every question asked. All the while paying close attention to his body language. It made a few things clear to Yuan Shu about the intentions of Cai Wengi, a potential threat indeed. A threat he knew he could also used to his advantage. Taking a sip of his wine and savoring the taste a little he placed his wine glass on the floor. He stood up from where he stood and summoned forward one of the servants with a wave of his hand. "You ask a lot of questions Ju Kuai. You wish to know how I Intend to bring the land under my rule? What I would do if I conquer it? " He turns his gaze to Ju Kuai once more; paying little attention to the servant standing infront of him, nervously. "Only one who has plans for the land themselves would ask such questions. The land I will bring is once more a government of power and prosperity; ran with stability and making the empire become something to fear and admire once more. I will achieve it through my own strength." At these words he returned his attention to the servant. He drew out the knife he keeps up sleeve and slashes the throat of the servant. Not bothering to watch as the servant begin a desperate struggle to breath and collapsing on the floor. He through the knife to one side as the other servant fled the chamber. Yuan Shu merely sat down and returned his attention to Ju Kuai. "strength. One word that can never truly be defined for each person has their own idea of what it is. For me it is being resourceful using all the advantages around me to render the enemy helpless and cut them down. It bother's me not if they are innocent or guilty. Not if they are a Queen, an Emperor, Viceroy or peasant. For they are but titles. Power comes not from titles but from a persons own talents. My family name is one of the most prospers and highly influential in the empire. One does not get that by being a fool." He took one last sip of his wine. "You came here today to assess me on behalf of the Queen Cai Wengi. Whose interest here is no doubt one of great ambition. In me she can find both friend and foe. So long as our goals are similar and I may have a use for her, i'll allow her to live. Should she have opposing desires. Well the people of Fu will need to find an heir. You live today to deliver that message." Yuan Shu at this sat back in his throne, enjoying the moment. He killed the servant because it was a necessity to see how the man would react and if he would get the true impact of the message? |

Yuan Shu did not command as much land as those of the Eastern Empire or those in the North of the province of Hebei of Jiao Fu from what the informants report, but despite this set-back, it did convey the impression that Yuan Shu was indeed smart and most likely cunning, such that was confirmed when he had expressed that he would take what he wants by killing if necessary. There was certainly an aura about him that he was a man that had a goal in mind and that he would not deter from it, such that Cai Wengi would do also. With this in mind, should Cai Wengi and Yuan Shu co-operate, then they would be a formidable forces to be reckoned with, but at the same time, there would probably be a clash. It was this possibility of this clash due to Cai Wengi's ways being similar to his own, that Ju Kuai was interested into finding out, hence why he ensured in his response that Cai Wengi's strength and capability were mentioned so that she would be seen as a dangerous woman who could be a possible friend or a possible foe. Afterall, it was for this reason that he and the other attendants were sent to discover if any of these prominent figures were worthy to stand by her side, which was why he asked more of Yuan Shu, questioning his strength in order to gain a response of why his land would be better than what other rulers would create or rather what other rulers believed they could create. In the end, the weak fall and the strong prevail. Cai Wengi had her tricks and had her strength so he was curious what Yuan Shu's response, as he then questioned the reasons for his questions, suggesting "only one who has plans for the land themselves would ask such questions" when he had made no statement of such. Clearly he had succeeded in conveying Cai Wengi's strength as intended and that his method of illustrating her strength and her simularities to himself had made this once unknown Queen someone that he now had to watch. Afterall, as soon as Cai Wengi had entered the land, she had set up camp to distract the Imperial Commander Dong Zhuo rather than taking land by force and giving no time as she had with the other men who opposed her in her rise to power, suggesting that she would be taking a different path. However, who knows the mind of Cai Wengi. "The land I will bring is once more a government of power and prosperity; ran with stability and making the empire become something to fear and admire once more. I will achieve it through my own strength", which he then was quick to illustrate as he slit the throat of the servant, before suggesting how he defines strength as "being resourceful...to render the enemy helpless and cut them down", so in other words being tactful, cunning, which was the impression Cai Wengi had got which had brought about her interest in him. Following such, he confirmed what he said before how he would take what he wants and kill if he musts, further expanding on such that he cared not if the victim was innocent which was proven by the death of the servant, but then going even further to say, "Not if they are a Queen, an Emperor, Viceroy or peasant" which clearly stated that no matter who a person was, he would oppose them if they stood in their way, the fact that he mentioned Emperor conveyed the idea that perhaps the Han Emperor that now sat on the throne did not bother him either. Interesting.... The mere intel on this man had raised Cai Wengi's curiosity, but seeing him in the flesh certainly raised Ju Kuai's own curiosity that he was sure would be the same for his Queen in his report, even if he seemed to think he was holier than now as he argued that "power comes not from titles but from a persons own talents" and yet contradicts himself by returning to his family name which he inherited by merely being born into it which was no achievement. However, he did agree that it was a persons own talents that brought about power, for Cai Wengi was not always a Queen, starting from the very bottom before rising to the very top. The display that Yuan Shu had made was not new to Ju Kuai, having seen Cai Wengi herself demonstrate her strength when she was questioned. For this reason, Ju Kuai did not seem to flinch when the act occurred, but rather lowered his head in reverence as the act itself had shown that Yuan Shu would stop at nothing till he achieved his goals by whatever means necessary, turning immediately to his Queen as he believes she is "one of great ambition", that should their goals be similar and if he has a use for her, then he'd allow her to live or face the consequences in essence. It certainly felt like he believed that he was the one to decide whether a person lives or dies, but would certainly be interesting to see him in battle as he judged each soldier under the enemy's command, picturing him condemning them all to death. He certainly was self-righteous it seemed, but he certainly seemed capable as he had said and this meeting had revealed much to him, as Yuan Shu's meeting of him had revealed much to himself, especially about a Queen that he hadn't heard about that could very well be a threat if she resembled him. "I will be sure to deliver that message Lord Yuan", before easing himself into a thin smile as he was instructed to do so should the candidate show promise. Afterall, it was unknown whether Cai Wengi would rule herself or take a step back and aid one of the rising figures, but if such was the latter, Yuan Shu was a possible choice he felt. "I stand by what I said before that you are a very capable man and a wise man also. I have seen through your words and your actions that nothing will deter you from you goals and that is admirable, but not only that, you've also proven what strength and power you possess for your goals to become a reality. It is no wonder why you perked my Queen's interest as I mentioned in the beginning, for you are truly formidable and believe that my Queen will look to you favourably, so unless there is anything else, I must start heading back", curious if there was anything he wished to add before he took his leave, seeing that he had tasked him to deliver his message. Ju Kuai was not a servant who would lax in his duties. (OOC: Wasn't sure what else to say) |

Yuan Shu could not help but reluctantly, and silently, admire the controlled nature of this Ju Kuai. Most visitors would at the very least appear unsettled at such an act. Even generals would feel a level of discomfort over witnessing the death of an innocent. Yet he maintained an air of control, calmness in his manners as if nothing had happened. It was quite vexing to Yuan Shu that the man was no in the least intimidated or even flinch over the act. However, the servant had served his purpose in demonstrating a point. Just one it would seem Yuan Shu would not be able to enjoy in its fullest at this moment. Evidently this one had seen a lot of violence in his time. “I must say it has been very interesting speaking with you and getting to know details about your Queen, and some about yourself. However I am a busy man and since you have a long journey ahead it may be best we leave things here.” Yuan Shu stood up at this point and gave a slight nod of his head to the two guards. “The guards here will take you to a local Inn where you may stay to rest up for your journey ahead. Oh and if you see the other servant that left in a hurry, please ask them to return. My council chambers could do with a little clean.” The guards walked around the body, which was starting to leave a small pool of blood, and stood at attention waiting for Ju Kuai. “I do hope you have found this meeting as interesting as I have Ju Kuai. I am looking forward to the day where the Queen herself may grace me with her presence herself. It would indeed be a great pleasure. Do be sure to mind the blood on your way out.” Yuan Shu gave a small emotionless smile. He was only just realising at this point that he had given more information about himself and received so much less intel on the Queen. That had not been his intention and could not help but be a little annoyed at being so free with information to a potential threat. However, it may just serve him well should the Queen be of use to him so he made sure to mask his annoyance by maintaining his composure. One thing was for sure though, this Queen had taken an interest in Yuan Shu so she must be of some worth to recognise him as someone of great importance. |
