The entrance point of the city. You approach this before any other part of the city, unless you are in that force. The liege or prefect will either then decide to attempt to arrest you, or allow you in to state your purpose. Edited by NPC, May 25 2013, 11:04 PM.

Time's a-wastin', chum. Pay up and we can get started.

The guards at the wall visibly reduced, Geming made to stride through the open gates as though unimpeded. When regarded by one of the militia on guard, however, he paused mid-step and waved a lazy greeting. "Well a fine day to you too. See anything you like? Only I have things to do, y'see." Junjie rubbed at his nose enthusiastically. "Lord Zhang Gao is expecting me. I'm his newest recruit, you might say. He in at the moment?" |

Cheng Dan approached the front gate of Gui Yang slowly, quivering violently in his boots while clutching the scroll he had received earlier that morning preciously in his hands. Ever since he was a young boy he had dreamed of receiving such a message, and upon reading its contents, he immediately set out for Gui Yang, leaving his family without so much as a goodbye. Now that the looming gate of the city was within reach, it occurred to him just how nervous he really was. His pace slowed dramatically and he stumbled forward in a trance until the guard addressed him. "What business do you have in Gui Yang?" The guard asks sternly, the danger of the situation finally reaching Cheng Dan. One false move and it would be over. Stumbling over his words, he replied carefully. "I received a scroll this morning from Geming Junjie of Gui Yang," he muttered nervously, showing the guard the official stamp on the scroll in his hands. "He urged me to speak with Lord Zhang Gao about joining his cause". |

The guards snatch the scroll out of the timid little man's hands. He looks it over with a skeptical eye, but in the end returns it to Cheng Dan. "We'll see what we can do. Wait here." A runner is dispatched into the city and after a long long wait, he returns. "Lord Zhang invites you to join him for lunch." Assuming Cheng Dan accepts this gracious invitation, the guards escort him inside the city to Zhang Gao's hall. (access granted, post your reply/arrival in the council thread) |

A carriage rolled up to the gates of Gui Yang. It was the carriage that Zhang Gao had agreed to send Xie Lan before he had departed from her home. The young woman who had come to learn of Zhang Gao’s land emerged from the carriage and gazed up at the walls surrounding the city. She still couldn’t believe she was actually going through with this. Xie Lan was nervous to say the least. She was easily intimidated by high society, and the mere thought of holding a position in which she would most likely have to interact with the type on a regular basis was enough to make her cringe. Why was she here again? ”Please excuse me,” she addressed the gate guards with a polite bow. ”I am Xie Lan. I believe Lord Zhang Gao is expecting me.” Hopefully she would be able to keep her composure upon actually entering the city and speaking with Zhang Gao.
