The entrance point of the city. You approach this before any other part of the city, unless you are in that force. The liege or prefect will either then decide to attempt to arrest you, or allow you in to state your purpose.

"Yes, he has sent word for us to expect your arrival, milady. Your driver will take you to his hall." With that, the city gates swung open and as soon as Xie Lan was ready, it would depart for Zhang Gao's central complex at the heart of the city.

After recieving Cai Wengi's orders, Qin Ta sent out spies to gather intel on the prominent figures that were appeared in this broken up land, before selecting six attendants who would represent his Queen. Serving Cai Wengi had pretty much made them obedient to a fault that they cared not what rolled off their tongue as long as it was in the interest of their Queen. Cai Wengi's servants learnt to respect and fear her, unlike these 'soft' chinese, Cai Wengi would not let a second go by to consider whether to replace a failed servant or not, she'd just do it, either by dismissal or the...harsher penalty.

Hu Tu was the attendant that was assigned the task of speaking to the Lord of Gui Yang who was one of these prominent figures that seemed to have the desire to 'fix' this land. Whether such a desire was fruitful or fruitless was yet to be decided. It was Hu Tu's task to find out what potential and what strength the Lord of Gui Yang had. Of course not living in China, he like all the other attendants did have the disadvantage of not knowing Chiense politics very well, the same case with Cai Wengi, but it will soon be revealed what these prominent figures would think of their Queen.

Approaching Gui Yang, Hu Tu walked upto the guards, "I wish to speak to your Lord", saying no more, nor saying no less. If the Lord was too busy to speak to some stranger, then perhaps that would be his downfall, as he awaited the response from the guards......

OOC: Just a quick note, I'm having some computer problems, so responses may be slow for the next few days.

The guards over at the stranger who arrived at their gates demanding an audience with their lord. "What's your name and business here, stranger?"

(OOC: No problem)

Hu Tu was positive that he had said what needed to be said, but alas it seemed the guards were not so willing to let him in straight away which Hu Tu took note of. It would be interesting when he and the other attendants gather together after their assignments are over to report on each of their experiences, but what would be more interesting is what Cai Wengi's decision will be. Afterall, she was a Queen so why should she be the one to visit all these mysterious individuals, especially when she had attendants to perform such a duty. Hu Tu was honored to be chosen to have the assignment, as were the other attendants that were clearly chosen above the rest which clearly shown that their loyalty to their Queen was unquestionable.

Now was just a case of providing back, and the question was whether Zhang Gao would supply or not. However, none of that wasn't going to happen if he wasn't allowed in the city as he had told them that he wished to speak to their Lord, so upon them asking for his name and business, it seemed he must replay himself, "My name is Hu Tu and I have come to seek an audience with your Lord", giving the answer to their question, nothing more, nothing less. Now it was yet to be revealed whether it was enough to grant him entrance or not.

(I could've swore I had a reply up. Don't know what happened to it, but sorry for the delay.)

A runner is sent into the city, presumably to get a response regarding this stranger named Hu Tu and his desire to Lord Zhang. Minutes pass by and the guards regard Hu Tu with casual indifference. Unscheduled audiences with unknown persons are rarely granted, but occasionally something strikes a chord and Zhang Gao permits a random stranger to speak with him. And woe to those who bring trivial matters before him without an invite.

After a long wait, the messenger returns and speaks to Hu Tu. "Lord Zhang is holding a banquet and he graciously invites you to join his table and present your business to him there. If you follow me, I will take you to him."

(OOC: Feel free to join the banquet RP in progress. And again, sorry for the gap between responses.)

(OOC: Sorry for my delay)

Before the attendants had departed from their camp to the outskirts of Wu Wei, Qin Ta had instructed each of what they were required to find out. It was currently unclear as to what direction Cai Wengi may take, but what they were clear about was that Cai Wengi would have a plan and that she would see such a plan till the end. Nothing deterred her from her goal, but it would indeed be interesting to hear what goals Lord Zhang had and whether they correlated with Cai Wengi's. For now it was the waiting game as Hu Tu remained with the guards as a runner was sent into the city, no doubt to ask for permission to enter. The guards of course had their duty as Hu Tu had his to perform also, so they were certainly being cautious but maybe too cautious. Afterall, it was only a single individual before them and not an army, was Lord Zhang incapable of dealing with a single individual?

After awhile, the runner returned and turned to him, "Lord Zhang is holding a banquet and he graciously invites you to join his table and present your business to him there. If you follow me, I will take you to him", causing Hu Tu to nod as he followed the messenger into the city....
